Just completed my second book - The Autobiography of Henry VIII: With Notes by His Fool, Will Somers by Margaret George. This book is well-written and planned. The notes by his fool are necessary editorial notes that help to enlighten and authenticate the "autobiography". It's so well-done that it could really have been written by Henry. Definitely worth reading! 4 stars2/12

The book you mentioned I have on my TBR list. It sounds very interesting. One day I'll get to read it. lol
Forgot to mention I finished a hard to get into book: I actually started it on the 1st of January, so it was definitely hard to finish.
Completed 2/5

I've adjusted your tally. What would you give this book out of 5 stars.
Lilac wrote: "3 stars. It was quite good once I got past the tedious parts, but not good enough for 4 stars."Fair enough.

Completed my goal of Double Major!! (post #49)I found this a great way to get through some of the books collecting dust on my shelf so I think I will keep the state of mind of this challenge going by challenging myself to read one shelf warmer a month.

I've updated your entry Quenby. Congratulations on getting through it.
Just finished Major Level - The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett. Really well-done and while long, the story kept me engaged throughout the majority of the book. Took me about 10% to really get into the story and there was a bit of repetition at the end, but overall, really well done. 4.5 stars and definitely worth reading!3/12

I've tried to read the second one but it's so long I haven't been able to devout the time to it.
Zara wrote: "Carrie and Kayla I've updated your tallies. You're progressing well.Kayla, what did you think of the Fifty Shades series you read?"
I loved them. I was under the assumption that they were mainly about physical acts but there was a connection between the two characters other than just the physical side of it. I loved how Christian grew as a person and how Ana did thing just to make him happy as well.
I'd also like to update my finished books:
4. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K.Rowing 5/24/13
5. Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer 5/29/13

Finished my third book. It counts or all three categories :)
- ★★☆☆☆ - 02/06/13The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien, 535 pages
I didn't enjoy this at all. Almost every year since I was 11 I've tried to read this, sometimes making it to 150 pages or so, but I could never finish it. This year I finally managed to finish it and it has proved to be much more effort than it was worth. The book was slow and dragging with boring descriptions and unrealistic dialogue. Countless times I found myself re-reading the same line because it was so boring that I wasn't even paying attention. Yes, things picked up a bit after the Council of Elrond, but it still wasn't great. At least now I've read it and will never have to again, though I did intend to read the whole trilogy this year so this might not be the last I read of this author.
I'm at 12! I am going to keep going, though...it's nice to clear out my shelves a bit!1. Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See - 4/4/2013 - C

Hi Lilac.
I've updated your goal. You've nearly achieved it. Great work and congratulations on where you've got to.
Just finished my fourth book - Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell. I did not expect much from this book and was truly impressed after I figured out how the book was formatted and the concept. I am so glad that I read this as part of a book group - reading others' interactions with the material helped encourage me along. One of the most impressive aspects of the book is how Mitchell was able to write in the style of each time period he was highlighting - that was truly impressive. Definitely worth reading! 4 stars.4/12

Congratulations for getting this far. After reading your synopsis of Cloud Atlas I'm toying with the idea of grabbing a copy of the book and reading myself. I'm most intrigued by the use of writing in languages of the time. Thanks
Yay, finished my last book for this challenge: A Clash of Kings. It was really good but soo long. If I found this long (only 873 pages) then how am I going to cope with Les Miserables (1400ish) and A Storm of Swords (1200ish)?

Just finished my fifth book - Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. 3.5 stars. I think I was reading this book in the wrong mindset, too much was going on in my real life, at least I hope that was the problem. I found the language superfluous but the story was interesting. 5/12 - I think that's all I'll be able to do for this challenge due to my two-week work conference.
I'd like to up date my tally 6. Fahrenheit 451 by ray Bradbury this book took me forever to get into.
7. The shack by William p young. This I've had for years on my to be read list as well as on my book shelf. I absolutely loved this book.
7/10 books read. I'm hopin to get at least one more book in before the end.
