Front and back? generally a book has blank pages that don't count. you only count pages that have content on them.

There's a big difference between 16 pages and 32. I'd like to know whats meant by front and back. How can front and back equate to half of the total pages.

I think they counted each page in the book, but forgot to multiply it by two (front and back of each sheet of paper).
