How long do you read for?
I usually read for 30-45 minutes at a sitting, but try to read to the end of a chapter or a section (where there's a gap). That's why I prefer books with short chapters! I usually read two or three times a day. I'm not a fast reader.
Lorraine- I'm the same way...try to stop my reading sessions at the end of a chapter. I agree that I prefer the shorter chapters!
I try to finish 1-3 books a week, sometimes its very hard for me to finish a book because I am a high school student and I take some college classes. I'll spend at least 2 hours a day reading.
I recently broke my ankle so all I do is read. But when I have my regular routine, I read on my commute to/from work then a little at night before bed.
I have never been one to read a book in a day, though I would consider myself an average/fast reader. I like to savor the story. If I tried to rush myself I feel like I don't end up with the whole picture of what this book was about.I usually read at work or around bed time and occasionally I'll have an audio book in the car.
I usually read for 20 to 30 minutes after going to bed -- or one chapter, whichever comes first. If I read during the day, it makes me so sleepy.
Unlike a lot of teens i feel lucky that I always have free time. I will read for hours on end until I fall asleep.
I tend to only be able to read for 30 mins to an hour on one sitting until I get a headache. Most days I would do 2 or 3 intervals of this, but I do sometimes end up staying awake until the early hours of the morning to finish something that I'm really hooked on.

you really should't be getting headaches from reading from such a short time.
It all depends on the book. I curl up and with my pillow fortress surrounding me I crack open a book. I can get lost in a good book for hours so I save a lot of my reading time for the weekend when I have no plans. I try not to read on weekdays simply because if the book is really good I will never be able to put it down!
I read as much as I can on a daily basis. I love reading. You could say its an obsession. There are weeks where i'll read only one book and there are weeks i'll read 5+ books. i read on my Kindle so i take it everywhere
Patricia wrote: "Every day, for as long as I can.. It feels like the day is incomplete if I don't read at least a little bit."Same here. I always read on my lunch break, and if I'm lucky, I find a little more time in the evening.
I agree with Carrie. My day just doesn't feel like its been lived to its fullest if I dont read. I am budgeting my time. I make it a priority, to read, at least 2 hours daily. If my day is chaotic, I read at least 1/2 hour after my family has gone to bed. By that time, there are no distractions. Time to just wind down.
I don't read enough at home but I always take a book with me wherever I go. You'll be surprised how much reading time you can fit in while waiting at the dr., at the grocery store, at the restaurant, etc.

At the bank! It's just not a good day without a book.
HAHA I read well over when I should, during the school year my mother used to ground me from reading because I would fake sick or even skip class just so I could finish a book. Sometimes I lose whole days because I am absorbed in a good book. The Vampire Academy series is one series that I finished in a week, I just can't put the books down. My general rule is, if a book (400pgs max) takes me more then 2 days to finish (including breaks) then it's a bad book. Even most iffy books I can't put down. I have had a few books that I rate 2 stars but still completed within that 2 day range :P
I listen to audio in the car on the way to/from train - 15 mins each way. If the audio is captivating ill also listen on the train and walking to/from work too. If not ill read my latest book on my kindle. So even before I get home at night I would have read at least 1.5 hours. Then at night I might read up to an hour (if I'm also surfing GR and FB). Or if its a really gooooooiooooooid read I'll do 2-3 hrs if I can.
So a work day - 2.5 hours ish
Non work day - maybe only 1-1.5 hours unfortunately (got a 3 year old)

It changes depending on the book and my life at the time. On a bad weather day I might read most of the day. On a day with lots going on It might be for just a few minutes at different times during the day. Carry the kindle in my purse for waiting rooms and other such moments.
I don't know. When i read I forget about everything else:) it's funny because when I start reading I do it with the intention of reading only for 10-20 min.
So i think i read most of the day, but it also depends of the book;)

Carry the kindle in my purse for waiting rooms and other such"I do this as well--I have Kindle on my iPhone (and iPad). It makes waits in line at the post office or DMV much more bearable.

For me, it's doctor's offices and being in line at the pharmacy.
Since I'm unemployed, single and living alone; have got lots of time in my hand....6-7 hours/sitting
14-15 hours/day
1-2 books/day
10-15 books/week (at max)
I m a BS student so i dont get time to read in my semester days but i read in my 2 months vacations or in semester gap holidays. in these i read for 3-4 hours a day and mostly finish 2-3 books in a week(depending upon the size of book). but cant read beyond that as i read online or pdf books(my city doesnt have single good book shop)
I never used to read except for a occasional news paper or magazine article. I was always to busy and then my beautiful wife Katie passed away. She always read and encouraged me to do the same but, I never took the time. Now, it's every minute I can spare. Her favorite books were true crime and mystery novels. I guess that's why I love them so much now. I think of it as if she and I are our own little book club. Katie was so smart if it weren't for her I couldn't have made it through college. I'm a self employed computer systems analyst and have to travel a lot but, I read when not working I'm 57 now so just another decade or so I can retire and read full time.
It depends on the amount of time I have. During school I finish a book in 1-2 weeks. On holidays I spend about half a day reading so I finish a book in 1-2 days.
i read any chance i get. I can usually finish a book every 1-3 days. Unless i get super busy like i have been lately and i have taken a week to finish a book.
Any moment I can...I pretty much only read eBooks now. So, anywhere I have my phone with me, I'll read. I usually can finish a book within a few hours to a few days.

I don't read half as much as I'd like. Twice a week at my job I'm doing inside office work, so I get to read all day, but other than that I try to fit in half an hour at least before bed to read if I don't fall asleep first (I'm usually very tired by then).
I read as much as I can it keeps my stress levels down. My love of reading helps in many ways I'm a fast reader as I can read a book in a day. We have three very challenging teenagers who need a lot of my attention I feel very guilty a lot of the time when I read they don't like it if they don't get my full attention but I need to read to keep myself sane. I make sure I finish all my priority jobs and attend to our teens then read. It takes me into a different world without stress.
I always read for awhile when I go to bed. It often takes me a week to get through a book, but less if I get absorbed in the book.As a fun FYI...I use to travel several times per year for work when I was self-employed. I'd have trouble going to sleep in hotels. I overcame that by taking my current book with me. I'd read in my hotel bed in the evening. I would go to sleep much easier that way.
I read every night before bed... Other than that it varies greatly. I'm kind of a binge reader and can read for hours when engrossed in a great book - then go for weeks where I just read myself to sleep. I listen to audio books while quilting too and enjoy being able to combine two of my favorite hobbies!
One of the best times for me to read (or listen to) a book is outside. I have two dogs that just love sitting in the front yard keeping an eye out for cats. (I do believe they think the whole neighborhood has gone downhill since those cats moved in.) Three or four times a day we sit out in the front yard for 30 minutes a shot. Also, if I have a migraine or a sinus headache, I just can't wear my glasses. This is when I do my bingeing on audiobooks!
Well, during holidays and vacations, I read from 6 to 10 hours daily, in school or busy days I read 4 hours, but it all depends on the book. If it is good, I finish it so fast, if it is slow, I either tAke a week or just skip into it.
It depends on the book. If the book is good and I can easily let my mind flow with it, I will be able to finish it within 6 or 7 hours reading non-stop. But usually it takes about 4 days to finish one, with 2 to 3 hours reading each day.
I read about 2 hours before bed, and whenever I get a chance to during the day. Summertime is easier, reading poolside in the afternoon.
