The challenge starts 3/21 and runs for two weeks.
Your assigned partner will pick out ten from your list for you to read, but not everyone will manage all ten. The goal is just to read as many as you can:)

That is part of the challenge, but if you have a conflict, you could try messaging your partner, and asking her to change your list.

I have the same problem. Now I just feel obligated to read them. I think I just need to know that someone depends on me ('cause even if we read just because we like to read, the basic idea of this challenge is to read more) and I'm not alone, haha.
I just mostly took books I would like to read (altought I'm not so big fan of this genre as you are) and made them in order I would like to read them (mostly it was from the most interesting to the least interesting one). Well.. Just in case you wondered how I made it.. :)
