I missed the original story, but I'm glad to see they changed their minds on this.

Oh and the best part is Scalzi's quote:

“The issue for me as a writer is not why they changed it, but that they are changing the contracts,” Scalzi told Wired.

“Is it that they were clueless when they wrote the initial contracts and then, when someone pointed it out, they fixed it, or whether they were embarrassed in the media? The short answer is, I don’t care.

Are they changing the contracts to make them more equitable to authors? If so, then I am very happy that they’re doing that and I will continue to point out where things could be improved in future.”

Back on topic, I was following this on Scalzi's blog. I'm glad they changed their mind, I hope they've learned a lesson...sadly, even if they did, it's probably not the right lesson.
