Anyone ever use Kickstarter?

Has anyone here ever used the fundraising site Kickstarter either for donating, your own project, or for a book? I am hoping to find other people who have used it before to give me some tips and possibly show me what methods they used to get the word out more. My Kickstarter is climbing the popular publishing charts there, but I am not seeing as many donations as I would like, so I need somebody to possibly help me if they have used it before.

I've never used it. But I've heard it can work really well.
