I can't recommend Wool and its followups strongly enough. Easily easily easily the best book I've read in the last ten years and one of my favorites of all time. Its engaging and it repeatedly breaks one of the cardinal rules of fiction in the first few sections yet it does it to great effect. Explaining the rule it keeps breaking is a spoiler for the first 1/3 or so of the book, it won't ruin the ending by any means but it will ruin the beginning and ruin the effect of the rule breaking on you (view spoiler)

There were moments when it bordered on true undisguised brilliance. And then there were times when it was like when you bite down and your teeth clang off the fork, kind of jarring.
But still, a very fun concept to read about.

I'm looking forward to reading it.
I looked for it at B&N and they aren't stocking it. I don't have an e-book reader, so it'll be Amazon. When huge book chains whine as they go out of business, I won't be listening.

It's just as easy to order from B&N's website as it is from Amazon.
No, I don't work for B&N and never have, but I would rather push business their way instead of Amazon.

Thanks for posting this article. Believe it or not, I first heard about this book from a Joel McHale tweet! Loved it and hope it makes a great movie.
I was able to snag the first short for free on Amazon (Kindle version) and, as of yesterday, Amazon was selling the omnibus for 3.99 for the Kindle edition. I read the first installment and I thought it was great.
If you want a signed, first-edition hardcover, you can order the U.S. version or the UK version from VJBooks.com. I get most of my signed books from them.
Read this book and then make it the May Laser pick! Lets give the little indie author that made it big some love!
