Looks like an imprint; at least not valid for Dutch edition.

Imprints. Gone.

Krazykiwi | 1767 comments Could you look at this one too? It looks sort of like an imprint to me, but I'm not sure.

"each one set in a distinct neighborhood or location within the city of the book."

Sounds like a shared universe to me, so that makes it a series.

Krazykiwi | 1767 comments I probably should have explained more: They are noir mystery short stories, unrelated to each other, each book is a collection of stories set in a different city (there's a few double ups now they have so many). Each book is entirely standalone vs the others, and they're unnumbered.

I have one in paperback and two in ebooks, and they don't really mention "Akashic Noir" on the covers. The publisher is Akashic Books though.

On the "it's really a series" side, the publishers do refer to them as a series, and they have their own page on their website, and as far as I can tell the stores are all commissioned specifically for the collections, they aren't reprints.

All the above is why I didn't touch it myself - if it's not bothering anyone, it's fine by me :)

It's definitely on the line, but I think it barely makes it on the series side of it.
