Vladimir Stefanishin | 2 comments Thank you, Steven! Yes, I have enough time to afford myself the pleasure of creating books. Others also have time, they just need to organize themselves. The first step to achieve that - throw away TV. This is what I did 12 years ago.

Blood of Kings by Billy Wong Blood of Kings

An action-packed new take on Arthurian legend from the eyes of an unexpected protagonist.

Illegitimate Mildred "Mildy" Pendragon wants just one thing: To prove to Camelot that she's as much a warrior as her daddy, King Arthur. With her cowardly Greek squire Ares and metrosexual best friend Lance at her side, she strives to prove her legendary bloodline through knightly deeds. But no matter what she does or who she beats, she cannot seem to win over chivalric society.

On quest to save the fey from destruction by an evil mage, Mildy meets the mother she has never known and learns the bitter truth of her incestuous birth. She continues to fight for good despite her disillusionment, but accidentally kills Arthur's favorite knight and makes a bitter enemy of her father. Can she defy fate and save her family from imploding, or is the saga of the Pendragons destined to end in tragedy?

A full-length novel.

William Hainline (subgeniuszero) | 2 comments Hey guys! Here's the blurb from my first self-published novel, "The Reality Engineers"!

Terry "Gadget" Anders is a young, brilliant scientist, and the inventor of a technomagical helm that grants him psionic powers like telepathy, telekinesis, and the power to conjure force-fields from thin air. So why isn't he happy? He struggles with relationships, and with bipolar disorder — which he was trying to cure when he invented his psionic weapon. He wants more than anything to meet “the right girl,” and he thinks that — with the help of his two favorite wing-geeks Buffy and Angelus — he can find her at that great gathering of geeks, RetCon XVIII. Desirée “Dizzy” Roentgen has it all: She's a maverick mad scientist, a masked vigilante, and a guitarist in an up-and-coming filk-n-roll band. Like Gadget, Dizzy has come to RetCon to spend a relaxing weekend partying with her own geeky kind. She doesn't expect to do battle with her arch-nemesis, the nefarious Dr. Noonian Harkonnen. She also doesn't expect to meet the inventor who might be — just maybe — the nerd of her dreams. And none of them know that they'll be facing-off against a body-snatching alien invasion! Put on your costumes and tune your guitars, folks, because this is gonna be the best RetCon ever!

Available on Amazon (and Kindle): http://amzn.to/191r3yM
And on Smashwords: http://bit.ly/13t3ysY

The Amazon paperback price is currently $10.15, but you can get the Kindle or Smashwords edition for only $0.99!

For those who choose to read it, I sincerely hope you enjoy the heck out of it!

http://www.amazon.com/One-Day-At-Time...

One Day At A Time: A Daily Devotional Guide For Each Day Of The Year - REV. ALLEN SMITH, M.R.Ed., D.D., Th.D.

This is, we believe, the most unique Daily Devotional in the world today. All 366 Messages, one for each day of the year (including leap year), is designed to help you grow in Christ. Consequently, the wealth of Doctrine, help, strength, encouragement, and blessing carried in this Volume is, we think, exceptional.

This Devotional has a navigable Table of Contents so you can quickly scan down and click to any month or any individual day. Each Devotion provides a Scripture with a short commentary, followed by a Scriptural reference. It is an easy read, and does not dominate the reader’s time.

God's called you to rise above the world, and put your full trust in Him - to believe and apply what He's promised in His Word more than anything else. This devotional contains life-changing promises from God's Word that you can quickly and easily apply to your own life.

It is also brand-new, and addresses modern-day problems, which can be solved only by the age-old remedy of the Word of God.

Su Williams (suwilliams) | 2 comments Hello everyone! It seems my former group no longer exists so thanks for making this group available!

Well, my name is Su Williams. I self-pubbed my first novel titled Dream Weaver through CreateSpace back in March. It is a YA paranormal fiction novel set in the snowy winter of Eastern Washington State. So far I've garnered mostly 4 & 5 star reviews but the process is extremely slow. I recently pitched the manuscript to 4 agents and got requests for pages from 3 of them. In a holding pattern now awaiting their responses.

OK, so here's how you can contact me:
dreamweaver526@yahoo.com
http://www.dreamweavernovels.com/
http://dreamweavernovels.blogspot.com/ (I'm always looking for great author sites and author interviews to feature on my blog. I get 700-800 visits per month. Not huge but it makes me happy)
https://twitter.com/DreamWeaver526
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Dream-... I follow back on FB and Twitter

You can read an excerpt of Dream Weaver here on Goodreads, you just have to identify it as the one by Su Williams.

I look forward to chatting with everyone!

Nina (author_ninaslack) | 2 comments Once Lost, Forever Found (Volume #1)
by Nina Jean Slack

Written in the form of a memoir, Effie tells the story of how she and her brother, Vladimir, had become lost in the world; their wayward teenage years.

Her internal struggles and emotions threaten to eat her alive. Memories of her childhood remind her of the innocence she once possessed. She has been hurt so many times in her life...the world can be so cruel. She knows there is more to life than this. She knows true love exists.

She looks up to her older brother Vladimir, who handles emotions so well on the outside. On the inside, he is screaming, and no one knows it, except for himself. How can someone be so strong for so long? There is a breaking point; there is pain, longing, loss, resentment, regret, anger, sadness, self-loathing, heartbreak, silent screams that will never be heard.......there is hope.

Where can hope be found in this world? How do you find yourself amongst the turmoil? Find yourself in this unforgettable, touching, emotional, relatable story of two young hearts who discover what it means to be Once Lost, Forever Found.

You can purchase Once Lost, Forever Found in paperback version, or kindle version at: http://www.amazon.com/ or http://www.amazon.co.uk/

“People come and go in our lifetime, but we hold onto the ones worth keeping, the ones who have touched our lives in such a way that changes everything we thought we knew or felt; life itself changes.” -Nina Jean Slack, Once Lost, Forever Found (Vol. #1)

“While we are living, our lives are like that of an open book, still being written. Eventually, our book closes for us, and to others, it will be as if we never existed at all. Those of us who write down our life story, will leave a little piece of us behind when we're gone.” -Nina Jean Slack, Once Lost, Forever Found (Vol. #1)

“I had never been in love with anyone before in my life, but I knew the feeling when it came bursting into my soul, like a million butterflies swirling around inside of me, like a tidal wave crashing into the shore that was my heart, flooding it completely and wiping out everything in it's path...” - Nina Jean Slack, Once Lost, Forever Found (Vol. #1)

“Vladimir stood next to one of the beams on the back porch of our new home, leaning on his back. He reached in his pocket and grabbed a pack of cigarettes, Marlboro Reds which were his favorites, and he lit one up. He was dressed all in black; black skinny jeans, black studded belt, black tennis shoes, black v neck shirt and he had the hood of his black jacket up over his head. He looked cool and collected, and somewhat villainous.” -Nina Jean Slack, Once Lost, Forever Found (Vol. #1)

“One look into your beautiful eyes, and my self-loathing soul felt envy. I had become vulnerable that instant...helpless, wanting, hating, resenting, loathing...” -Nina Jean Slack, Once Lost, Forever Found (Vol. #1)

“If ever you feel lost, terrified, alone, emotionally and physically drained...when you feel like depression has overpowered you, and that the world itself, has devoured you...just remember that you are not alone, you are loved, you are a beautiful story waiting to be told.” -Nina Jean Slack, Once Lost, Forever Found (Vol. #1)

First, the prequel to the Tales of the Gothic Warrior short story series, Gothic Genesis, is free on Amazon through 9/23.

Gothic Genesis by Billy Wong Gothic Genesis

THIS SERIES IS MEANT TO BE UNREALISTIC FUN. If complete believability is a must, it might not be for you... but if you like the sound of a non-magical female brawler standing toe to toe with huge men and monsters in brutal fistfights on sheer toughness and badassery, maybe it is.

After beating up a player from a rival football team, high school sports star Freya finds herself under investigation for his disappearance. Resolving to find him and clear her name herself, she teams up with psychic outcast Annabeth on a quest that will start a great friendship and change her life forever.

Secondly, enter my giveaway for a chance at a free paperback copy of the second novel in the Legend of the Iron Flower series!

Iron Flower (Legend of the Iron Flower, #2) by Billy Wong Iron Flower

Action-packed fantasy adventure with a powerhouse female epic warrior in the spirit of Achilles or Beowulf.

Years are only one way to age in this tale of a young warrior whose army-slaying sword belies her kind heart.

One of the greatest fighters in the world, nearly indestructible Rose lets few things strike fear into her--but magic is one of them. Nonetheless, she seeks out the magical dangers left by the ancients alongside warrior partner Finn and curious scholar Derrick in order to protect others from them. Their mission is complicated by Rose and Finn's budding romance, as her choice of lifestyle conflicts with his expectations for the woman he loves. But after their quest pits against such titanic foes as a prince able to slay a thousand men in a day and a draconic archmage, will Rose be forced to embrace the very magic she fears?

Second in the Iron Flower series, but you do not need to have read the first to enjoy this one - either is a great starting point to the adventures of Rose.

message 85: by Connie (new)

Connie Smith Hey guys! I published my first book in July, and have since been trying to get it exposure. Which can be hard, as you all might know :)

It's a YA/Urban Fantasy, if those genres interest you. Here's the blurb, followed by the buy link:

Years ago, demons were forced out of the earth’s realm by a band of supernatural fighters, banished from the place and its people in the aftermath of a horrific war. It should’ve ended there – would’ve – if not for the final demon’s claw snagging on the open portal. What felt like victory became only a reprieve, the winning warriors understanding that the tear would spread, and the demons eventually would escape exile. It was only a matter of time, and a need for future defense – a question of genetics and essences, magic and power.

Now centuries later, a new army must bind together – one of teenagers with inhuman potentials and abilities…

AJ went to bed Sunday night an average teenage girl, clumsy to a fault and athletically lacking. So when she wakes up Monday morning with super-strength, she does what any rational person would do: She goes into denial. When a smoking hot guy in a suit shows up, rambling about the end of the war and demons spilling through some kind of rift, she refuses to listen, telling herself he’s insane. Except weird things just won’t quit happening, and the guy keeps popping up in her life, trying to explain the changes suddenly happening within her. Is she crazy, or is this guy… not so crazy after all?

And here's the description from the product page:

For as long as Ildanis can remember, Chimera has celebrated its independence from Eventide. Order and Chaos never did see eye to eye. Until Chimera’s dream is shattered in a thousand ways. Blights in fields once lush and green. Sickness amongst the hale. The onset of winter in a land of eternal summer.

But Chimera, it seems, has the gift of turning a blind eye to the changes.

And the slow return of Chaos into Order.

Anyone interested in knowing the truth about the contents in Quran and Islam? My book is for you.

http://www.amazon.com/The-Quran-Parad...

This will be a humorous approach to Quran. Those who don't like to laugh should not buy this book. This book is for those who can't find enough time to read The Quran. This book is for those who started reading The Quran and didn't complete it because of boredom. This book is dedicated to all those who want to know the truth about this holy book.
The Quran was written 1400 years ago. It is widely regarded as the finest piece of literature in the Arabic language. Muslims consider the Quran to be the only book that has been protected by God from distortion or corruption. Others believe that there are dangerous notions in the book that will endanger humanity. Some say that Islam is the religion of peace, while some others say that it's not. What is the truth? It's time to find out. This book analyses all the 6236 verses in Quran and only explains the important ones. It also contains some of the stories of the prophet from the Hadith.
This book will provide an unbiased and open minded analysis of Quran from a disbeliever's point of view.

Jennifer (alphawolfseries) | 2 comments Hello! I am writing a book -- the first and only one I have written to become published.

It is a Werewolf-genre book, one that has many already excitedly talking about. It is due to be published in January 2014, and is 100% self-published, cover designed, and everything by the author (me!).

Here is the description:

For months, socially withdrawn Dr. Brent has been reading about women being abducted throughout the city. It is soon discovered that the women may have all been witches. Brent decides to take the matter into his own hands, but is distracted when 4 friends in their late 20s move to the city and start causing a ruckus. He knows they are werewolves, except for the youngest of the group -- Angela, who is only half.

That night, Angela is attacked by a psychotic demon. The demon has been stealing paranormal beings for centuries, taking them to hell for his version of "trafficking". The demon happily claims her as his prize, only to have his interests switch to Brent once he finds out his true identity. - www.facebook.com/alphawolfseries

I hope to see you on the face-y books!

Susan Grossey | 2 comments Earlier this year I self-published my novel "Fatal Forgery". It is set in 1824, when trust in the virtual money of the day – new paper financial instruments – is so fragile that anyone forging them is sent to the scaffold. So why would one of London’s most respected bankers start forging his clients’ signatures? Sent to arrest Henry Fauntleroy, Constable Samuel Plank is determined to find out why the banker has risked his reputation, his banking house and his neck – and why he is so determined to plead guilty. As the case makes its way through the Regency justice system, exercising the finest legal minds of their generation and dividing London society into the banker’s supporters and detractors, Plank races against time to find the answers that can save Fauntleroy’s life.

I have self-published "Fatal Forgery" as a print-on-demand paperback available through Amazon (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fatal-Forgery...), and in lots of e-versions (Kindle, iBook, Nook and Kobo, for instance). I am delighted to say that three bookshops are now stocking it: Heffers and Davids here in Cambridge, and Hammicks (the legal bookshop) in London. And I have come to the conclusion that writing a book is simple compared to publicising it! But it's a great adventure, and I'm enjoying learning so many new skills.

And to keep me sane, I am already writing the next Sam Plank adventure - today I am researching suicide by Prussic acid...
