I actually can't decide. I like both in different ways. I just finished reading Shatter me and is looking for Destroy me so I can read a little more about Warner, but I don't hate Warner, I don't dislike him either. In a way he grew on me when I read the log that is in Shatter me. I kind of want to know more about him and see what happens with him and Juliette. The fact that he can touch her make me think there is something coming that is not yet there if you haven't read the other books.

Wissal Mnr I love Adam but still Warner is not really a bad guy after all.

Liv I've only read Shatter Me so far, and I don't like Warner at all. I love Adam, but I am scared to read on, because when it's true what you all said, that Warner isn't really bad and Adam turns out to be an ass - I don't like that! I prefer clear lines and no changing ;) I get confused otherwise. And since I like Adam, it will be so hard to hate him when he's not nice anymore. I like Juliette and Adam to be together for now.

It's not that I hate Adam, I like him, but in my opinion and you will understand this after you've read the other books, he's not for Juliette.

Tenmodo WARNNEERRR!!!
best character AND they deserve to be with each other! !

Rich they both love Juliette..,but Warner/Aaron FTW!!!

vari You read Shatter Me and you think "OMG!!! Adam!!!", while harbouring a secret book crush on Warner. He's just such a mystery in the beginning. He's unpredictable. You want to know more about him, yet you still don't want him and Juilette together. Then you read the next two books, and he becomes unveiled. Its like he's a whole new person, and so is Adam. Adam becomes boring compared to Aaron. I become rather annoyed with his character. He had suddenly become so whiney and he's part of the thing that's stopping Juliette from finally admitting her feelings for Warner. And Aaron... Aaron finally gets the girl he's been pining over since book one. He finally has someone close to him. And even gains 2 brothers. There really isn't a bad guy in this series. Adam may become a whiney jealous idiot, but its understandable. As for Warner, everything he did that was bad had an explanation. He transforms before your eyes from antagonist to dream boy. As you can see, I am undeniably on team Warner.

Noa At the begining I've also thought that Warner was a bad guy, but after reading the 3 books I'm like "AARON WARNER IS THE BEST BOY EVER"

YES! adam starts being SOOO ANNOYING but i was team ADAM in shatter me but after reading unravel me TEAM WARNER FOR LIFE

Alexandra As people have mentioned before, you can't look at individual personalities alone. I think that individually, whether one could be seen as "better" than the other is all very subjective. Adam in the first and second book is very attentive and has a very sweet and loving personality, but he seems almost suffocating. * SPOILER * And when it comes to Juliet, he is very bitter and angry and almost hostile toward her once she "rejects" him so to speak in the last book. While they are able to make amends sort of at the end of the series, there's a hardness in Adam that was placed by bitterness that was very sudden and a little frightening. He switched his personality at the drop of a hat when things started going awry for him.

Warner on the other hand seemed to have the opposite affect. He was frightening and intense in the beginning and we hated him. But after he bonds with Juliet and you get to see into his thought processes a little, you see the loving side of his intensity. We come to realize that he is not completely crazy, just in love. When it comes to him with Juliet, he doesn't disable her and limit her power, he encourages it, nurturing it and her as well. While some people may be a fan of the whole forbidden and painful love story between Juliet and Adam, I just feel that Juliet is happier with Warner and can truly be herself and not have to feel so stifled.

message 63: by Dawn (new) - rated it 5 stars

Dawn Jomez I like Adam. I wanted him to be with Juliette all through the three books. I haven't read destroy me yet, but I don't think it will change anything. And all this shit about how Adam dragged her down, well, it wasn't Warner who fixed her, either. It was Kenji.

And as soon as I read the line, "He is perfect" all my chances of liking him were ruined. I want a character who does something stupid, like forgetting to bring soap into the shower, and have physical imperfections, like a big zit on their nose, or a crooked nose. I wanted a character who is real.

And everyone also is saying that Adam was a dick in the last book, but picture this; you are dating somebody. You think they are dead, until they show up at your house, and you are happy. But then they start talking about somebody who tried to kill you, affectionately. Then that person shows up at your house, and they look at them the way they used to look a you. Then they tell you that you guys broke up, which you thought was coming, but you really love them. Heck, you've had a crush on them since you we're little. And it breaks your heart. And on top of that, your family is dead, except for your brother, and you're under a lot of stress because you can't feed them. And now this. Now do you think he was overreacting? So, sorry all Warner lovers, I disagree. Take that as you may.

I wonder if I am the only one . . .

message 68: by Login (last edited Jan 25, 2017 02:59PM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Login Shalaby I just think that Warner was never the bad guy in the books, as the bad guy was always his father, but about who is better of course Warner as Adam; relationship was just so DRAMATIC !!!! I just hated it so much. Furthermore Adam doesn't control his mouth however Warner always did. Also Adam was so weak and he was making Juliet like him however Warner always challenged Juliet and vise versa so this was a perfect relationship. Finally i think that life with Warner was interesting not like Adam who just wants to live like any very normal person and thinking about that is disgusting.

Jordan✨ definetly warner ALL THE WAY! During the first book adam was cute and all, but then the next two he became SO whiny and SO desperate! He actually needed to let Juliette live her life. He was always trying to protect her when she did not need it. Warner on the other hand I loved since book one and never stopped loving. Yes, he is an asshole, but he literally had his reasons. His father made him that way and he can not change that. His tattoo that said " Hell is empty. All the devils are here" made me fall more in love with him and he is one of my favorite characters in the book ( besides kenji because he is just my favorite) But for sure warner all the way

Skylar Newbury Warner isn't to blame in the slightest, Adam is the bad one. Near the beginning of Ignite Me, Juliette comes to the thought that Warner was always the one that loved here, not Adam. Warner healed Juliette even though he thought that she was in love with another, he didn't hesitate for a moment, juliette says that Adam may not have saved her if he knew she would pick Warner.

Dystopian_lover ok so i know that im like the first person to update this disscosion in a wile and im a horable speller so bear with me. look i loved the shatter me series wait let me rephrase that the shater me series changhed me life i ligit want a Warner is my soulmate t-shirt that being said I am on team Warner. i felt Adam was so harsh with her when she got back like dude you thought she was dead and now your saying you dont care if she dies like HELLO that was your one true love and your just like oh i forgot LIKE WHAT!!!!!!!!! Warner seams like the obvious choice, hes so weak and fragile yet strong and powerful, theres a whole other side to him. But im not talking like other side of him and I'm not talking like just like another side OH NOOOOOOO, its like the other side of the moon!!!
hes so differnt and exiting!!!! Adam is kinda mehh. I mean I liked him in the begining dont get me wrong but by the time the end of unravel me rolled arond i was just like yep im ready for more like LOTS MORE so i think ive changed some of you adam lover into the derection cause Warner is on fleak

Natalie Hayslett At first I hated Warner. No, I despised him. However, after going through the series I understood what Juliet needed, and it wasn't Adam. Adam needed someone to take care of, but that made Juliet feel weak and child like. Warner wasn't afraid to challenge her to show her the potential she had. The characters are two different people, and I don't think either one is evil or the bad guy, I just think one understood what Juliet needed, and the other couldn't.

Crystal I am team Warner and that being said both guys are good for Juliette in ways the other is not. They both love her but fell for different parts of her. Adam hangs on to the scared loner she was when they went to school. Back then he was not big enough nor brave enough to stand up for not only her but himself at home. To him she is delicate and sacred. At first I thought Adam was right for her because he offered all the things she was neglected as a child all the things she craved and could not have but then Warner came along...

Warner saw, maybe not first hand like Adam did, but second hand through her history and his own reaction to similar situations. He saw what she could become if she would except herself and what she was and to break out of the shell of fear and insecurities that her parents and society put in her. Wanted to teach her to use her strength and heart for herself instead of what others wanted her to do. He makes her stronger, encourages her to embrace what she has, to grow and do great things.

Rabin Shae There isnt actually. Warner and Adam both r flawed in their own way and it has a lot to do with their upbringing. There is no black vs white in them. Adam's perfect good guy behavior has a bit of bad guy in it and Warner's evil bad guy attitude has good in it. it's just about knowing what drove them to be like who they r and decide then. I have read all the books and there r times when I was seriously pissed with Juliette but that's just the beauty of character development I guess. if the characters r flat then ofc there isn't much to look forward to now, now is there?

message 75: by Joanne (new)

Joanne Everyone is like go read destroy me and you'll understand Warner. Well, I read it. And it didn't change my opinion about him or Adam at all. Adam deserves better, he's always been nice to Juliette and now his brother is dating his girl. You'd probably react the same if you were him. And don't say as excuse "he had a bad father". THAT'S NOT A REASON BECAUSE ADAM HAD THE SAME FATHER AND HE WASN'T NICE TO HIM EITHER. This whole shit is stressing me out and I'll keep saying that Adam deserves better. Now that Restore me is out, Adam became a minor character. Like wow remember that time where he saved Juliette? He took care for her when no one else did. And what was Warner doing? He killed a guy, made Juliette almost kill a toddler and tried to kill Adam in the worst way ever. That makes me think Adam is the better character. And yes, in Ignite me he was doing stupid, everybody does sometimes.

lorena Warner actually didn't make Juliette kill a toddler (it was a simulation) and in his option, Adam was a misbehaving soldier that also ran away with Juliette (who he loves). What he did was not ok, what Adam did wasn't either.... I mean he acts like they were still in a relationship when they weren't. And it's Juliette choice and what she wants so I respect that!

message 77: by Avery (new)

Avery Sigler Team Warner!

After reading Shatter Me, I was definitely team Adam. To be honest, I hadn't planned to read the rest of the series until I was at the store and read the summary for the third book. Warner and Juliette working together? I immediately checked out the rest of the series. In the second book, my opinion started to change. Sure, Adam was still good and all, but you just start to know Warner better. And then, in book 3, Adam isn't as sweet as he was in the previous books, and Warner really cares for Juliette. So, in summary, I switched after the first book to team Warner and the second and third book enforced this. ;)

Alicia Ingles I have read all 4 books, plus both .5 books and I'm just gonna say. Really great. I am definitely all for warner. I understand in the beginning he was a douch, but he had things going on and wasn't great with people. I cannot wait for the 5 and next .5 books! I dont think either Adam nor warner are bad guys... they just got stuff going on. Recommended series 100%. Such an amazing series and Tahereh Mafi is a terrific great author.

ilici Honestly, when Adam was first thrown into the prison with Juliette, I was just so disappointed. Adam is great, but he's too generic and just a typical guy. There's nothing wrong with him, it's just been written too many times. I liked Warner as soon as we met him, and he is right. He and Juliette have a lot in common.
Juliette only liked Adam because he was the only one to pay her any attention, back when they were kids, and in the prison, from what I read. He was the only choice at the time.
So I'm definitely TeamWarner

Brooke Chase Even in the first book Adam is sOo generic and predictable. He is so one dimensional. Peeta from hunger games is sweet and caring like Adam but he is unpredictable and that’s what the difference is. In the first book I wanted to love Adam and hate the kidnapper Warner but I couldn’t because Warner keeps things interesting. Adam is so predictable that Warner was able to find his house with his brother in like a day and a half! After reading destroy me I know I was right to Stan Warner.

message 81: by Inez (new) - rated it 4 stars
