They are pretty fun, but when I have a book I really want to read and it doesn't fit into the challenge I will put it aside and that's why my pile of books I want to read is so big right now! I will be catching up on some reading next month...

It isn't the best book I've ever read but I thought it was pretty good. (Sorry if I'm intruding on the conversation)
Eragon was not one of the ones I couldn't finish. I believe Kristen was having that problem. I thought the storyline was okay, but the writing wasn't very good. Obviously I didn't have too big a problem with it if I am reading Eldest. I am reading it for a challenge, but I could have chosen another book if I wanted to. Maybe I will feel differently about the writing after I finish the series... we'll see.
I just really couldn't get into it. I think it was the writing mostly. I may give it a try again. I was thinking.. maybe we could do a count down challenge.. your goal is to read.. I dunno 30 books in two months and then just list them. What do you think?
I'm game for a count down challenge. I don't know if I can do 30 books in 2 months, but I can try! :)
I just finished City of Bones and I loved it.. I literally cried through probably half the book... It was full of twists and turns and I was totallt surprised with the ending.. I can't wait to get City of Ashes!

I read Eragon but I couldn't get myself to read Eldest. I tried.

Haha I made a group 300 Books 1 Year... i'm the creator and I don't think I'll make it!
300 books in a year would be hard! It's a pity that things like school and work take up so much time.
Some classes are fun, but homework, essays, etc. really cut into the reading. Not to mention you have to get up early so you can't stay up all night with your favorite book!
I think I've read about 160 books so far this year.. crazy, I know.. but almost all are young adult. :)
Yeah usually when school starts I'm up late working on Art pieces and portfolios and don't have time to read very much! So sad...
160?! That's amazing! So far I haven't had much time for reading..spring wasn't so bad timewise but these summer physics classes have been killing me. Looking forward to a long month of free time after today!

I haven't read them... are they good?

I'm currently half way through Markedit is quite addictive reading. It isn't the best written book or the best vampire book but I quite like it. If the rest of the book is as fun as this I will probably read more of the series.
I love book challenges but I can never seem to read as many books as some other people I know. I hope that will change this month because there are a ton of books that I want to get read. Right now and I am reading Geektastic and it is pretty funny. And Pollyanna, I really need to read Marked and you just made me want to read it more. =]
Heavy in the Game by J. Love. An amazing urban fiction novel. I would love to read it again, but as a group for discussion.

I enjoyed Marked as well! I've read through the newest book and would say it is worth it to continue with the series. They are fast, enjoyable reads.

I am really enjoying The Kindling of GreenFyr Book One of the Reunification Conspiracy. It's a lot better than I imagined it to with a new fantasy author. :)
I just finished reading "Erec Rex:Search for Truth" by Kaza Kingsley. I am now reading "Identical" by Ellen Hopkins.
I just finished Catching Fire and I am now reading Love Is The Higher Law by David Levithan. It's really sad but really good so far. =]
I just finished Blood Promise today, and it was completely amazing! I may go mad waiting for Spirit Bound to come out, hopefully next year :|Just beginning to read Rampant by Diana Peterfreund and Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins - I hope Catching Fire is as good as The Hunger Games, that book was awesome (:
I totally will. I will post on the discussion for the book when I am finished.
Almost finished with Fragile Eternity and then I will start Blue Moon. After I finish that, I will be done with my library books (for now) and will be able to continue my House of Night series.

I am reading Harry Potter 1 as well.
I just finished If I Stay and LOVED it. I cried at least 4 times while I listened to the audiobook. *Sigh* so good.
I just finished City of Bones, which was really good. Now, I'm reading Wintergirls, which is really good, but is probably one of the most disturbing books I've ever read.
I'm going to listen to Wintergirls on audio - probably after I finish Saving Francesca. I love the Mortal Instruments series.
Not young adult- but I am reading a great graphic novel series called Fables which is about Fairy Tale and other Fable characters living in New York because their Fabletown was taken over by "the adversary." It is really interesting, well written and beautifully drawn.
That sounds really cool! And now I'm reading The Fellowship of the Ring and Dracula (to get into the holiday spirit! ;D).
Love Dracula!!- have you heard about Bram Stoker's grandson's book? You should read Frankenstein next.
No, I haven't. What is it called?I'm glad to hear that you like it! Everyone else that I've told that I'm reading it said that "it's too stereotyped". But Dracula was the original in that stereotype, right?
I read that last year in English. It definately wasn't what I was expecting. I liked it, though.
So it is actually Bram Soker's great-grandnephew named Dacre Stoker. The book is called Dracula: The Un-Dead. I believe it is a "sequel" to the original. Yes, Dracula is the original or close to the original. How can it be stereotypical if it made the stereotype?!? :)
I loved Frankenstein, because no Frankenstein story except the original tells the whole story. I went into the book thinking I knew the story, but boy was I wrong.
Oh cool! I'll add that to my list! :DThat's what I tried to say, but no one listened. Oh well. :P
I knew Frankenstein wouldn't been like the movie, with the green monster, but I was surprised by how, well, nice the monster actually was. I'm so sad that he didn't get a name. I get why he wasn't named, but I still feel bad whenever I call him the monster.
Kellee, I LOVE Fables - have you read Jack of Fables too? There's a young adult novel coming out based on that series by Bill Willingham called Peter & Max A Fables Novel.
Kristen, Isn't Fables WONDERFUL!!! What is Jack of Fables?
That is so exciting about Peter & Max- I have been wanting to share Fables with my students, but it is too mature for them. When does the young adult novel come out??
Kellee
I am also reading the Percy Jackson series. I am about to start the 5th book- The Last Olympian. I never understood/cared about mythology, but through these novels I can actually have an intelligent coversation about mythology and I learned it through a Young Adult book :)
I have just read Coraline and Bridge to Terabithia this weekend and enjoyed both. Neil Gaiman has got me really excited now about reading Stardust :)I'm going to start reading The Time Traveler's Wife tonight.
