Tomerobber | 334 comments Bentley,
I'm listening to the audiobook format for this . . . are the numbers you have listed the actual chapters? In my version . . the narrator gives the chapter numbers . . . but no titles.

Yes, according to Bryan Craig - not sure about your audiobook format though.

Bryan Craig Odd, Tomerobber. The book does have chapter names.

Peter Flom I will order this book

Correction . . . he did read the chapter number and the title. I was listening along and didn't realize that he HAD read the title. I'm up to chapter 2. Thanks!

Bryan Craig Great, Peter and Tomerobber, I look forward to your participation.

James (jbgusa) | 54 comments I'm still on the fence. When does the discussion run until?

Bryan Craig James wrote: "I'm still on the fence. When does the discussion run until?"

It will run until July 21st.

I set it up so readers won't have such a huge weekly burden. If you fall behind, the previous weeks threads are open, so you can still post. No pressure.

Oh come and play, James . . . I'm using the audiobook format I bought and downloaded from Audible.com because I had already bought it . . . so this will be an interesting change.

message 11: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (ladybrash) I just got my copy today. This will be my first book with this club. Looking forward to the discussions, and learning about Woodrow - I know absolutely NOTHING about him aside from the fact that he was president.

Francie Grice Downloaded my copy on Kindle today. Can't wait to get started. Just recently watched a segment on him on History Channel's Ultimate Guide to the Presidents. Should be good read.

Donna (drspoon) I have decided to participate since the syllabus seems very doable. My book should arrive shortly.

Great Ashley and Francis.

Bryan Craig Awesome, Ashley, Francie, and Donna. I'm glad you will join us. It should be a good one.

Theresa | 84 comments yay Presidential book reading!! I really look forward to these :) I haven't gotten my book yet, I'm trying out the used bookstores around me for a cheap copy before I order it online.

Clayton Brannon Got my book in the mail today. I am so looking forward to this read. I read Cooper's previous book Breaking the Heart of the World and loved it. This is going to be fun.

Bryan Craig Great Theresa and Clayton.

Clayton, don't forget the book cover

Breaking the Heart of the World Woodrow Wilson and the Fight for the League of Nations by John Milton Cooper Jr. John Milton Cooper Jr.

Mike Mccormick | 4 comments Will be joining. Already have the audio book so will try to participate using it.

Tomerobber | 334 comments Mike wrote: "Will be joining. Already have the audio book so will try to participate using it."

Way to go Mike, I won't be the only one using the audiobook . . . I find that my ears can read faster than my eyes . . . ;-) so it will be a change using this format for a change.

Bryan Craig Glad to have you join us Mike and Tomerobber. People using the audio version is pretty common.

This is good to know, I think it will work well for me. I'm not always able to keep up when the books being discussed are being read and discussed at a faster rate. I'll have to get a copy of this one, and join in. I'll note from the start that Wilson is one of my least favorite Presidential personalities, but I'm quite interested in how he developed both his person and his political philosophy and power.

Bryan Craig Great, Steven. Read at your own pace. I think we have a good bio on Wilson, so we should learn a lot.

Bryan Craig Clayton, I moved your post to the first week's thread.

Clayton Brannon Thank You!

I'll reiterate that it's good to read this, since I'm far behind. My copy I ordered just came in. Wilson is one of my least favorite President's on a personal level, yet I want to learn more about him, as he accomplished a great deal. Also his educational and occupational background is interesting to me, as another teacher of political science and history.

I am glad that you are taking a positive approach - that is all we can ask and the discussion so far has been terrific.

Just start with Week One and post there and we will be with you every step of the way. We have folks start after the discussion has even finished and we work with them.

Bryan Craig Welcome, Steven, as Bentley says, just start on the first week and welcome. No worries about being late.

No grading here ;-)

message 29: by Heather (new)

Heather I am about to start. I guess I'll just catch up and then jump in. :)

Just begin with Week One and make sure that your posts fit the pages read for each week. Each week is a non spoiler thread so only post comments appropriate to that week's threads.

Bryan Craig Welcome Heather
