Oh I didn't realize the "some html is ok" note was also a link. I guess that's why it's the same color as all the other hyper-linked text on the page.

Sometimes it takes me a while to get obvious things. :P
 Like this:
Like this:spoiler "Type Text here" /spoiler
And then put < and > on either side of both the "Spoiler"s :)

Mia wrote: "Is there a list of which books can be read for the challenge?"Mia, we have quite a few challeges going on all at once. Feel free to look around and join in one one or more of them!! You can use the same book for multiple challenges as long as they fit into both challenges. And, since you'll be joining late, if you've read any that meet the criteria AND the date range, you can count those as well.
In terms of which books you can read, that is up to you. We will sometimes make suggestions or insert a listopia list for some ideas, but we don't actually create a must read list. Though, heck, I may make that a future challenge!! lol
Jill's link up there will take you to the main challenge page that lists all of our challenges. (thanks Jill)
Let me know if you have any questions!! I'd be glad to help. :)
I know this about paranormal books, but don't you just love or hate some of the paranormal shows on television. I was hooked on paranormal state for three years, now I'm into the Dead Files.

I personally, (And , yes i'm a mod, lol) Think we have a good amount of challenges, we have a range of different things and time for all of them and we can join the ones we want...that is me, personally :)

http://www.goodreads.com/group/popula...We are currently the 79th most popular group on Goodreads!!! I think it's pretty darn cool :) Woohoo!!!
Woooo-Hoooooo!!!! We are doing something right!!! LOL! :) As for the question I asked, I think we give a wide variety of challenges for many different people and their circumstances. I was just curious to see what our members think. Other than us Mods, no one else has responded yet with their thoughts/ideas, but I did just post it yesterday ... lol! :)

In my opinion, as long as the mods can handle them all, there's no such thing as too many challenges. I'd say if you are only getting one or two people participating, then perhaps you've gone a bit too far, but otherwise the more the merrier! It's not like we can all do every single one, so it's nice to have a variety to choose from. :)

That's what I thought too, but we love to have the feedback from our members also ... After all, the members keep this group going! And we are always open to change suggestions and feedback! :)
I just want to say that I think you mods are fantastic. I know you have lives and families and you still manage to keep things happening here! Thanks to all of you.

Thank you Katie & Sonya. I'm flattered that you believe we are doing a great job, and I'm pretty sure I speak for the other Mods also. :) We definitely try to do our best! :) We wouldn't be able to do that if it wasn't for all of our members ... That means you, & you, & you, and so on! LOL!!! :)

There are a lot of them I could recommend!!! :) Is there any type in particular you are looking for? Vampires, werewolves, ghosts, etc.? There are also a lot of really good ones listed under our R2R folder that you might enjoy. You can take a look at each of them and just add a comment under that book to Carrie and let her know you are interested in reviewing it. Carrie then sends the book to you and you have 2 weeks to read and write a review. If you end up needing more time to do that, you can always email Carrie & let her know, she will be happy to work with you on that. You can also take a look at the book lists that each of us have listed under our personal profile (some are marked as private though & you wouldn't be able to see those). I have read many awesome books that I have learned about through this group, the R2R books available, as well as from other members! :) I hope this helps! :)

I have a question =) How do you feel about authors reviewing/upping their own books, or giving themselves a 5 star rating.
I have a question =) How do you feel about authors reviewing/upping their own books, or giving themselves a 5 star rating. (I've looked at a few books now, that have 1 rating, and then on further investigation, see that it is the author's rating of their own work.)
Thoughts?
I think it counts :) You wrote the book, and you also read it when you had to edit it a million times. :) and you also know thatthey wouldn't have bothered writing them if it was a bad story.

I have to agree with Cris on that. However, regardless of who reviews the book, I look at the synopsis and decide from that. I would much rather make my own judgement on the books I read, but everyone is different in how they pick their books. :)

I just wanted to add to this that when someone places a book on Goodreads, which most independent authors do themselves, you are prompted after you enter the information to rate the book. Personally, I haven't done it with any of my books, I just close the prompt window. Some might not think they have a choice and in their reviews I sometimes see things like "Goodreads made me rate it".
I don't see an issue with it, although I would hope it was obvious that the author thought it was worth 5 stars. The author, probably, spent a long time writing their work and at the end of that task, tooting your own horn is sometimes greatly needed. It is kind of like voting for your own kid in a talent show or something.
Places like Smashwords and Amazon offer a free sample, usually 20% of the book, so I always take a peek at the writing before making any purchases. I know not everyone likes first person present tense like I write in and with a sample you can really get the mood of the book before buying it and throwing it across the room later because the writer's style/dialog/grammar drives you nuts.

I've never seen that happen. I've added a couple of books on goodreads and have never had to rate them...
Like I said, there is the option to close the prompt so you don't have to do the rating, but for the five of my books that I have entered myself, I have always been asked to rate them. I have seen at least half a dozen reviews by authors on their own books that have mentioned something about goodreads requested that they rate the book even though they feel weird doing it.

Have you downloaded them to kindle specifically? Like plugged in your kindle into your computer and then pasted the ebook in the "Documents" section? it should show up on your kindle after a couple of minutes.

I appreciate it. I figured out how to do it after playing with my Kindle for a while. They (Kindle/Amazon) set up an email so you can send them that way, or you can download a program that lets you do it by hooking your Kindle to the PC via the USB cord.
That's just in case anyone else has any problems. :)

Cristina wrote: "If you have any questions, comments, suggestions, complaints, words of praise....feel free to leave them here!!! :)"I love the "reminder system" for R2R! I totally forgot that I signed up for a book and received the gentle reminder, and it was perfect!
Thank you!
I have a really foolish question. Sorry but I am new to this. I signed up for R2R but I don't know how to add it to my "Currently Reading" list.

      @Precious Moments -
There is no such thing as stupid questions ... only stupid ignorance :-)
Go to the book page you wish to add. Beneath the book cover image is a bar that says 'READ.' Hover your mouse over the little green square with three books in it. A little pop-up box will appear. Move your mouse down to the 'currently reading' box and check it off. Wah-lah!

Okay, I need a little help. First to admit that I have never used Amazon before but now I tried to get Never Let You Fall as it's free. So I signed up and got it but it only let's me read it online. Any idea if there is a way for me to download it somehow? I want to put it on my e-book reader(and no, it's not a Kindle). Help please?

@Desislava did you add a device to your account? Go to your account, then your apps and device and on the left you'll see add a device.(Instructions and all are available with the clicky under) You also have to get an app that reads kindle. Then from your device, log onto the app and enter your account info to link your device to Amazon. You will have to go back to Manage your Kindle on amazon web site and on the right side of the book title you'll have an 'action' clicky. Choose download to your device. The books you buy after setting your account/device will automatically go to your device. Hope that helps.

I can't log on from my device, It's just an e-book reader, it doesn't have Internet connection, I can only put books on it with USB-cable.

You can read it on your computer, but since Amazon does not send you the file, but delivers it to your kindle, there is no way to put anything onto a different ereader. And the .mobi file amazon has is not compatible with any other ereader.
Have you checked if it's free on smashwords? If it is, then you can download whatever file you need and then put it on your ereader (vis USB) to read it.
