I think number four and five are out now. I haven't thought about the series for a while but now I really want to revisit it.

elegy by Amanda hocking - loved that series.
If i stay and where she went - gable forman both great books
Immortal rules and eternity cure by Julie kagawa - did i spell that right - can't wait till April for book 3
Altered and erased by Jennifer rush - if you haven't read them add them to your list. Book 3 comes out 1/2015 not a cliff hanger type book so you won't be too upset waiting til next year for book 3.
Divergent - vernoica Roth - i was dreading reading it but it turned out to be great book and will get book 2 ASAP
And now before i fall.
I guess i might eventually get done with this book and move on..

I read Amanda Hockings other series; the Trylle series and really enjoyed it. Really interested to read her new one as well!!

Hmmm... I can't find it either. -WE- didn't delete it (usually if a thread goes inactive for a really long time it would be moved to 'random dead threads' where it could be revived, not deleted). Perhaps the thread originator deleted it? Why don't you start a brand-new Picture Me A Story thread under fun and games, Elisabeth?

I have a question/suggestion:
I'm always looking for a buddy to read books with and since many of the books I read are in the paranormal genre, I was thinking this group was the place to go, however I don't see a "buddy reads" section or topic anywhere. Could we start one in one of the discussions?

Can u maybe explain what that is? I'm at a loss and would like to provide it for LoP so HELP....... LOL

Not sure what a Buddy Read system would look like, but it sounds like a lot of fun Rachel! If you explain how it is done, one of us will set something up. :-)

For instance,
"Are you reading a book that you really want to discuss with other members? Then here's your chance!
Just list the book that you would like to read with a link to the book and include an approximate date that you'd like to start the book (some do a date, and some leave it open, so up to you Mods).
When you find a buddy (or buddies) that wants to read the same book, start a new topic thread in this discussion. When you are ready to set up your own thread, title it with the name of the book.
If you'd like to set a reading pace, for example so many chapters per day, please agree on that with your buddy(s) before you begin. And remember to always either say what page/chapter you're on or use the spoiler alert so that everyone can enjoy the book together!"
Then the members would add their requests as messages in that thread.
Say, for instance, that I really wanted to read Daughter of Smoke & Bone with someone and put in my message request, like so:
"Looking for someone to read

And say that Anna really wants to read it too, so you, Anna, would respond to my request and then one of us would set up a new topic under that same "Buddy Reads" discussion with the title: "Daughter of Smoke and Bone (start date here optional)."
And then say that Carrie saw our buddy read and she also wanted to join us, so you, Carrie, then would join the thread we had created. Sometimes one member responds, and other times several do.
It's a great way to meet other people who love to read similar books, like mini book groups within the larger one of LoP. It's kind of like taking the "What are you reading right now?" to the next level by asking others to join in on what you're reading right now and have fun discussions along the way.
I've only just recently joined your group, and when I went through your bookshelf I ended up adding many new TBRs that LoP has already read as a group, so this would be a way for new members like me to do some catching up, and make a new friend(s) ;).

Hi Rachel! The MODS just discussed this matter and think its a fantastic idea. I just started a brand-new folder called Book Buddy Club to discuss books in spoilery spoileriness. Why not go add a brand-new topic for Smoke and Bone?
Rules are HERE: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
We'll tweak the rules as it gets going and we see what issues arise.

Martha wrote: "Hi, are there any critique groups associated with this group? I'm looking for one to join. Thanks."
Hi Martha ... do you mean WRITING critique groups? I'm afraid not, and you might want to be cautious about which groups you approach for critiques unless it happens to be a pre-existing CLOSED group of friends who happens to meet here because there are some groups here (not LoP ... most people here are pretty nice) that are less than kind. Unfortunately, people are so inundated with free ebooks these days it's hard enough to get them to read a published book, much less an un-edited one.

I love love love how you put challenges at the top of our group page.
I have my own *secret* group set up just for me where I keep track of my reading challenges, reviews gifs etc. I was wondering if anyone would point me in the right direction to seting up something similar on my group of just me page ;)
If it's not too involved.

Whoops! Sorry Ginger! Missed your inquiry!
You have to join the Goodreads Moderators Support group first, Ginger, and be listed as the moderator of your secret group. After it gets approved, the option should magically appear in your right-hand sidebar.

Hi Teresa! You might want to PM Carrie the Book Fairy, our R2R coordinator? I do think we've had Larrel K. Hamilton here in the past, not sure if this is your group.

Download the free Calibre ebook management software to your desktop/laptop:
http://calibre-ebook.com/
Watch the tutorial.
Download the free Kindle Reader software from Amazon to your laptop/desktop. Go into your Amazon 'cloud' (list of books you've bought/gotten free) and click 'download.' It will download it to the Kindle app on your computer. Make note of the name of the book file.
Now open Calibre. Click 'add book.' Now comes the fun part ... hunting for where Amazon stashed that free ebook file. If you look under 'Documents' it should be filed under a 'Kindle Content' folder. Find the file. Click. Calibre will add it to your library.
Now the fun part. Highlight the book in Calibre. Click 'Convert Books.' It will bring you to a new menu. On the top-right is a drop-down menu. You want to click .epub.
It will tell you really quickly if it can convert it or not. If it's loaded with DRM, it won't let you. There -is- a way to strip the DRM, but why bother unless you're in the situation where you bought a Kindle, then realized you hate the Evil Empire and want to convert your entire e-reader library over to a DRM-free device.
Anyways ... congratulations on your choice to NOT lock yourself into proprietary-DRM slavery. Kindles are kind of like those ink-jet printers were in the early 1990's ... you know ... the ones you could buy for only $45 brand new, but then when you ran out of ink it cost you $79 ... every other week? Really ... go to Smashwords or Diesel ... they don't load your e-reader up with crap you can't transfer to whatever device you're carrying!
If you happen to own a Nook or other .epub device, I've got this nifty blog article on how to download non-DRM freebies onto your e-reader:
