Life... a bit of it All
Hi Denisa, glad you've found out how to make your corner! Don't worry I won't spill anything. :-)

Thanks Holly, glad you stopped in... would you like something to drink?

What is your passion OTHER than writing or reading? Lets learn a bit about each other... State what you geek and why or a little bit about it..I'll start it off.

I love parrots.... the love they show and the kisses and hugs..
Now it is your turn!!!!

" ah thank you Kyle.. I love fire places, the glow and warmth and when you have friends here too and COFFEE... we are all set..

I am so sorry for your loss of your cat and dog... It is sad and very hard to deal with. I had a golden Lab for 12 years his name was Sir-Tommy and I loved him so. He died 6 years ago and well... I haven't been able to get another one yet. My son has a husky.. he named him "me" not sure why but Me always comes when called..I like the name Sox... my other cat's name was Spinx.
I love your Geek.
I wanted to do something fun and informative and yet something that did not involved reading or writing but a "little bit of us".
Thanks for responding..

My lab was very well mannered except when it came to water. He loved water.. we would go to the lake and well.. we couldn't get him out. the kids would hang onto his collar and he would swim them around.. we would always get him out early so he could dry but.. he always managed to go back in at least once. lol
Have you decided on getting a new animal anytime soon or what kind?

Hello Dustin... I missed you there sorry about that..."
Don't worry, it's no problem at all, Denisa!

I got to slip out to do my weekly report... see you all in a few. Keep a look out for Kyle he is here some where

"I geek cooking"
I love to cook especially Italian food. The smells and wonderful spices are amazing to my pallet. I love to find flavors that are rich, smooth and with a bit of spiciness.
I hope that was okay. I will see you Sunday Denisa. don't forget we are having lunch

Why, of course, it's a blast, Denisa!!:)

Yes I will see you Sunday.. don't forget daylight savings time. we loose a hour (yuk!)

Glenda
It's the best corner around I'd say Glenda. Thanks for making us all at home Denisa. I love your coffee. :)

Anyone who loves coffee, can't be bad.
I geek gardening and reading. I have about 4 UBSs I haunt frequently. Great deals on books, and all the staff are friendly. I dont have too many gardening friends, so i have to purchase most plants. I dont do veggies, because you have to actually watch them.. hehehee. Flowers don't really need too much human intervention...they just grow. veggies have to be watched constantly. I mean, it is for consumption :)

Glenda"
ah Glenda you are so sweet.. Thank you so much... I hope you do visit often... Make yourself comfy and have some coffee or cappuccino if you prefer and there is some strawberry cheesecake also...
So Glenda.. do you geek anything? I mean is there something else you are passionate about other then reading or writing?
Thanks for stopping by.

ah Jack you are so welcome... and thank you for the nice compliment... hope to see you again..

Alondra thanks for stopping by...Yes I am a coffee drinker... I tried to cut down but somehow replaced it with cappuccino which is coffee too hahahahah
I love growing inside plants and do grow some flowers. With working and being in school and the kids and birds it is hard to get very much time to weed. I need to find out how to plant flowers and not have to weed... then I would plant even more.
thanks for stopping by and visit often..

Oh Denisa, do I geek? You bet. I geek dogs. I love dogs and all animals really, but especially dogs. I am big animal rights person. I do not believe in sport hunting. If I walk into a room or office where there is the body part of an animal hanging on the wall, I am nauseated.
I have had dogs my entire life. My favorite breed would have to be dachshunds. I've had several. I lost my last one, PopTart, to old age at 15 about a year ago.
I rescued a little 7 pound chihuahua a couple of months after my loss and he (Gizzy) is my current partner in crime. He is a joy.
I have 2 sons, but they are grown and gone with families of their own so Gizzy is my son. LOL.
Oh, and I also love to cook.
That's my geeks and I'm proud of them.

Why, of course, it's a blast, Denisa!!:..."
Yes, they are really blossoming now, aren't they?:) I love it!

Glenda"
ah Glenda you are so sweet.. ..."
I love dog too and cats and birds and frogs and.... hahahah
Hope your week is starting off in a great way Glenda

Do You know a book you loved and yet felt it deserved more attention then it got?
Maybe by posting on it.. new readers will give it a try...

The book I feel is and has been neglected is called Of Moths and Butterflies.
The author of this book is V.R Christen. The book was published February 7, 2012. This book is set in the 1900’s and is of the social status of that time. You have a man, who is privileged and he collects exceptional and extraordinary moths and butterflies. There is a servant, a beautiful girl and she serves his uncle. The girl however actually has a fortune herself and once came from wealth and fine living. Why has she entered a position of lowering? To escape… I shall not tell you more as I truly hope some of you might read it. There is an aunt who simply wants the girl, for the money. She connects with the trapped beautiful butterflies and enters into an arranged marriage and yet can she exist within the boundaries of her own frame?
Why is this book so wonderful? It is a writing that is unforgettable and literally, the first five sentences drew me in completely. It is a story that although bright and lovely has some threatening storms that appear and last more than just a page or two. They are blended in throughout the whole book. This writing reminds me of Jane Austin and the writers of that era. The sentences painted such a descriptive canvas that you feel as if you have slipped into the story itself. She has a unique grasp of the social status, mannerisms and values you wonder if she had lived during this time herself. Her ability to create characters with voices that feel so natural of this time; simply amazed me.
This book published in 2012 has only 51 reviews on Amazon.com. The book does contain 648 pages and seems like a very long book, but once you slip within the storyline, it doesn’t seem that long at all. It saddens me that it has not received the notoriety it deserves.
V.R. Christensen is a student of English Culture and history. She constantly researches and learns of both; a lifelong student she will always be. In her books she has the ability to take yesterday and show struggles that we still fight today. She is able to write of yesteryear with an equivalence and resemblance of today. If one’s preferred reading is Victorian romance and culture; this is the book for you…
V.R. Christensen went to school at Brigham Young University of Idaho. She received a degree in Interior Design along with studying English Literature, Art History and Sociology. She loves designing clothing of different eras including the Victorian time. She also decorates historical homes. She now lives in Virginia with her husband and one dog who has seven cats. (V.R.Christensen Author, 2010)
When I first read this book and fell in love with it; I bought two copies and mailed one to my mom and one to my aunt. I knew they would read them and pass them on to their friends.

Numbing Heartache
I rested on the fallen tree,
half submerged beyond and under
the water.
It had shriveled, with part of its bark,
floating away in slow death.
Once it was, as the water,
strong beautiful and giving so much to all.
The cool water felt good and tingled against
my toes,
a new wonderful feeling, like Love.
Suddenly the wind picked up in anger,
it slapped my face with a lasting sting.
The fallen tree gave more of its bark,
to the now hard rush of waves.
The sun hid from the pain and hurt,
the glittering shine had disappeared.
Love had started so beautifully,
Now ended in a cold numbing heartache...
I have been thinking about putting a book of poetry together... any comments would be greatly appreciated..

Hi Bri....
I started gathering my poetry and trying to get it typed up...this involves looking through 35 years of journals lol and of course some are okay and others not...
I love going to open mic.... The only one here close is about 40 miles away so I don't get to go very often....
I posted a poem here in my corner just to see...if there is a response..
hope your day is good..
I made some grilled cheese tomato sandwiches... help your self. They are made on onion bread so hopefully it is okay.
