Life... a bit of it All
Very nice...I can visualize each stanza. Hope your day is good as well....I have a mild allergy to tomatoes but onion bread is delicious...
Oh Bri I am so sorry about the tomatoes... oh man...hopefully the homemade onion bread was good as you stated...thank you kindly on my writing. I was just throwing it out there to see what and how... I know poetry is not really what a writer considers the money maker but... I never wrote poetry to make money but rather to understand my own feelings..
Thank you again
hmmm thank you for all your help... and encouragement...Hope your day is going well... My has been so busy my brain is running behind trying to catch up lol.
Denisa, try submitting to Poem Online. good group of people. they give fair and intelligent criticism. alot of good poetry there.
Hi Denisa, I thought I'd post back on your page, rather than reply on my own....it took me ages to finds your name in the list, then I remembered your corner is uniquely disguised under another title! I know exactly what you mean about persevering with a book, just to get through it and onto more exciting books on the TBR shelf. I'm struggling with In Cold Blood, but refuse to start my new books until it's done. I've told myself to finish it over the next couple of days, then I can start Gone Girl this weekend! At least you're pushing yourself for a good reason, as the book is for your literature course :)
The Feelings of Hell. The smell arrived,
Causing me to look.
The figure didn’t slowly emerge,
It claimed attention of all, even time he took.
He loomed large covering me with his robe.
His laughter paraded his rotted teeth, as it escaped.
I resisted his un-natural probe,
For it was not part of my fate.
He pointed his skeleton finger,
In the clouds he did show.
I felt the need to linger,
To feel the flow.
He waved the clouds gone.
Darkness, became the smoked background.
Scenes before me, with eerie music, not a song.
I looked to see,
Wondering his intention of it all.
Why was it directed at me,
And we began to fall.
The burning fires of HELL…
The sticky, sweaty, hot…
Darkness and feelings are not to tell…
Words compare, can NOT.
To continue downward,
No sound can be heard.
The pressure of the throat,
Knowing left there to corrode.
To be seen, no body limbs,
But of there.
The heart against..as we did sin,
The heart now shaky and scared..
Knowing it will have to remain there….
I am Sane aren't I?Tears form and fall. I try to make sense and am left unknowing. Intense emotions with passion feed them as they fall.
I do not understand this. Why am I emotional? Is it joy; trying to sing, or sadness leaving my heart? I sit here and they fall without time or lyric. They just simply flow down my face.
I have no pictures or thoughts of anyone or anything. There is no anger to comprehend. It can't be the music, soft and passionate, for I know not the words. I've not lost the Love of my life; nor gained it. I am the same as before; maybe.
There is no intense story on these pages from my past, full of feelings. You will not find any poetry full of hope for my future.
Tears simply form and fall. I sit in amazement and wonder. I am sane aren't I?

thanks so much for visiting and come back often...
Denisa, yep that basically sums up the book! Kyle, all is good here, apart from being cold! Haven't done any reading today, but in between work I have spent far too long browsing for new bookshelves, haha. How are you today?

Denisa it hasn't really been a particularly violent book, considering the family get killed, just haven't got into it so much, but I am only 70 pages in. Have you read breakfast at tiffanys, also by capote?

I maybe off key totally, it sounds like a book my mom read...If its the same one, she loved it.. said it was funny . I may have to go look this one up but it seems like one my mom read like in the 80's or even earlier..

yes breakfast at tiffanys was a movie with audrey hepburn....no families getting murdered in that one!
Pink wrote: "yes breakfast at tiffanys was a movie with audrey hepburn....no families getting murdered in that one!"oh... I get it.... hahahah I was like the book my movie read and loved and movie had nothing to do with dieing people and stuff so I thought maybe I got them mixed up... I do like some of the true crime books but I don't like them drawn out so long that you forget the first part. I love 48 hours and cold cases and like books wrote in the same format.
Hey, Denisa. Love the poem. You are so talented. :)I can't believe you tried to cut back on coffee. I have tried and failed miserably. Everyone around me begs me to drink it again.... wonder why??
Thank you Alondra.... you aer so sweet..I was drinking two pots a day sooooo I really needed to cut back... I know what you mean about quitting or cutting back on something and others around you want you to go back to normal....
I know when I tried to quit smoking a couple of times people were buying me cigs... however it has now been 13 months since I quit....

hahahaah I love it!!!!! Thank you so much!! That is simply adorable.... I love it and will look at it many times.. Love the Beatles waving at me.
If I can travel back in time, one my stops would be 1964 so I can be part of Beatlemania and that was when George (my favorite) was at the height of his cuteness, though he was also super cute in 1966 so I'll probably stop then, too (I'm thinking of the Paperback Writer video).I love The Beatles (especially George)!

hmmmm. here's another one... I should stop watching the news,....Dirty, matted blond hair.
Life isn’t fair.
In a cardboard box, with a tattered coat.
Apparently, lost all hope.
Her life before,
One could only imagine,
The pain was remarkable and more,
Even damaging.
Her silent eyes,
Long past asking why.
Her heartbeat, calmly still
Now cold to never feel.
The police officer cuddled her close,
Not like most.”
A single tear fell from his face.
As he imagined her in childlike lace.
A young run away child,
That’s how her death would be filed.
How could anyone?
As he touched his gun.
The coroner said,
“A bad home I bet,
Is why she fled.”
A child of maybe thirteen,
The officer turned green.
n heart, she’s not even a teen,
Oh the injustice she’s seen.
No one came to look,
Or sign the claim book.
The officer inquired to see.
More than his job indeed.
One day he visited again.
This is such a sin.
I will claim her as one of mine,
It will be just fine.
The coroner shook his head,
But the words were never said.
The officer bought a yellow dress,
For the tiny body at rest.
Pretty ornaments for her hair.
He really did care.
Shinny dress shoes, and lace on her socks.
She had handled enough of life’s hard knocks.
A child’s ring, bearing a cross,
It fit so perfect and right.
The coroner’s words again at loss.
He held his tears with all his might.
The child was laid to rest.
With flowers in bloom, some of the best.
Only the coroner and the officer was there.
No one else to care
Afterwards, the officer spoke aloud,
"She won’t mind, I imagine,
Being buried here,
While not really being kin.”
He took no notice of the fallen tear.
“We never found my sister ya know,
(pausing) I should go.”
He looked to the sky,
Indeed he questioned “why?”

I totally agree. I feel that if we all liked the same things, what a boring world we'd live in. As well as different opinions make you use your mind to see the bigger picture as well as what is different out there.
