Would you still like the book if Wanda had been injected into Jared's body instead and still ended up falling in love with Ian?

Watch your language, stupid
Qing-Chang of the Middle Kingdom wrote: "No one is homophobic in my country...I was wondering about you Westerners."how do you know no one is homophobic in your country?
I think that could be a unique turn to the plot...but I think it would've cut down on the general marketability of the movie.
You can find any random couple on fanfiction.com
Trust me, after reading a few Dumbledore X Harry fanfics, I no longer doubt the extensiveness of this website.

I don't know if Ian would fall in love with wander in that case. But also I believe Jared would have more fight then mel. -shruggs- I'm not sure if the idea would tempt the others if that was the zinger. I don't mind it. But I do like the way it is written as it is.
Despite all this childish insulting above, I think it's a good question! Although it's ridiculous to say that nobody in your country is homophobic and racist to ask, if it's different with 'us Westerners'.I really would have liked it, if Wanderer would have been inserted in Jared's body, because it would have made it less stereotypical and, as it was mentioned before, it probably wouldn't have been made into a movie.
I think it would be interesting to see how the relationship between those two would have been, and if Wanderer would have had feelings for Melanie then... Or if Ian would fall in love with Wanderer if she was in Jared's body (in the book he says that he would have, but who knows?)... but enough of this.
I liked the book the way it was. I would have liked the other one, too... Maybe even better... But because there is no such book, I'm never going to find out.

I totally agree with Naiya's post. But I also want to add my own comment. To the question of would you enjoy the book if...
I would have to say no. It has nothing to do with views on homosexuality. Its just that when I read a book I like to lose myself in the book by imagining myself in one of the characters place. As a heterosexual female I like to read books where I can imagine facing the same situations as that heterosexual female. If I were homosexual I would imagine that I would favor books with homosexual characters. Like I said nothing to do with views on homosexuality its just I like to be able to identify with my main characters.
I agree with Naiya's comment as well
I think it would have been very interesting to watch the relationships between the characters. But I like the book very much the way it is (even though I'm a fan of BL stories) !
To point out its actually Ian that falls in love with wanda/Melanie but i would still love the book as im not homophobic
WHAT THE HECK! WHAT KIND OF A QUESTION IS THAT!No offense but that takes a very elaborate mind. Don't get me wrong I'm not insulting. It's just... different.
But on the subject of your question, I agree with Naiya.
I don't think Wanda would have fallen in love with Ian as Jared would have projected his feelings for Mel onto the soul inhabiting him. Why? Because in this alternate universe, assuming Ian is still straight, Wanda doesn't exist the same way she did before so how can she love Ian in a sexual or emotional way if she is not in a girl's body? To imply that the two guys would like each other means that Ian would have to first initiate his interest and I'm pretty sure he wouldn't do that seeing as Jared is a man.It would make a great bromance story though.
That would be interesting, but I don't think I am would go for Wanda, because she would have been in a guy's body.
No it wouldnt envoke the same response from me, I think it would just be a bit icky, I dont think Id read it
