Introduce yourself....
Hi everyone:My name is Elizabeth Rebecca Shaw. I am a beginning writer with two books available currently through Kindle. I am a long time reader of all kinds of books.
My name is Ronald. Again, let me first take the time to say I hope that all are doing well. I am an author of what I am acknowledging as light, and inspiring comedy, and romance, poetry, and short stories. Recently, I’ve engaged in an endeavor. It evolved from the acknowledgments of making up for lost time. I guess when you glimpse upon my participation you will know that I have been quite busy. Presently, I’m engaged in three giveaways, and two discount presentations.
HiMy name is Ronald. I hope that all are well. Sorry, I know that I’ve just recently joined. I’ve been recuperating from the long strive of establishing three book giveaways, and two discounts with the hopes that all goes well. Again, I am an author of light, inspiring comedy, romance, poetry, and short stories. My hopes from joining group is to get, and give good, honest reviews from, and for authors.

Hi I'm Dakota. I love reading, mostly fantasy and MM romance, and I was just looking around Goodreads and came across this group. I have read and reviewed in the past and just wanted to start again- something to do and hopefully help the authors.
Hi there! My name is Peter Cane, and I'm a writer as well as an avid reader.
I was born and educated in England, lived for the better part of a decade in Brazil, and then moved with my spouse and two teenage boys (and a beagle and a husky) to Canada, which I love and where I plan to stay - and my passion is the way in which we communicate with one another - verbally, visually, tactilely.
Before arriving here, I lectured for a while on the sensory triggers we use when displaying emotion, how they are used to direct attention, and how they misdirect it, for example with camouflage. It's a new science called Bioaesthetics. Anyway, I was doing research on a particular type of triggers that make us stop and stare, hold our breath and listen, perhaps subconsciously expecting something to happen: tension triggers... and it occurred to me that the two famous fingers of Adam and God on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel were a good example.
While examining a high resolution image of the two fingers, though, I noticed that something seemed to have been camouflaged between them, and I decided to do some digital enhancement. What I found was some letters, letters that spelt out the word 'chiave', which, when I looked it up, was Italian for 'key'. And then I noticed more letters, and yet more. Over the next few weeks I found that Michelangelo had used Genesis - its superficial topic - as a series of allegories for his bitter experiences while working in the Vatican. Indeed, I found that the whole ceiling had a second and more profound meaning - that it was a passionate denunciation of a crime committed by the then Pope, Julius II.
Slowly over the next few years I found that this use of painting to vent the traumas the artist encountered in their everyday lives, nightmares arising particularly from dealing with rich and powerful patrons, was not something that Michelangelo invented, but that it was universal, and that it was present in all art done in times of tyranny, from the days of the frescos in the Palace of Knossos to the flourishing of democracy in the 19thC.
And with that discovery came not only the realisation that works of art constitute an entirely new and untapped source of historical documentation, but that being from the heart, and not intended (like many tax records or records of birth or death) - as much to fool the reader as to inform them, that we had something uniquely reliable.
More, the story these unexpected documents told was very different to what I had learned in my history books. Not only different, but it was a history that although on the surface seeming incredible, it actually explained a lot that conventional history did not. So I began writing, and the book grew so much I had to split it into six more reasonably sized tomes, which, alas, could not then be published because Kindle had not yet enabled the creation of such image-heavy books, and publishers threw up their hands at the cost.
So I decided instead to focus on just one character, a particularly prolific artist, and tell his life story in novel form... no pictures, and thus publishable. He just happened to be black, the result of an affair between Michelangelo and a Moorish lady 'owned' by the Medicis, and actually depicted by Michelangelo on a number of occasions. He played a leading role in trying to get justice for the native peoples of the Americas, and for disrupting Spanish ambitions to spread their slave empire across the entire globe, indeed, his story is startling, and an inspiration to all those who want to leave the world a better place for having been here - which I why I chose him as my protagonist!
Anyway, on finishing the book about a month ago, I found to my amazement that I no longer needed an agent and a sympathetic publisher - I could do it myself. Which is where I am now.
My work therefore falls in an uncertain genre, lurking somewhere between history, historical fiction and alternative history, with a very subversive sort of semiotics as undercurrent. What I hope for in this group is to get a much broader understanding of why people read, how they come to choose what they put on their bookshelves, and - of course - how other authors manage to get their books to a public that would adore them!

I am in the process of redoing my review blog. Looking forward to reading new stories. My favorite author is Cherise Sinclair I would love to One Day be a part of her ARC team. I started off reading JR Wards Black Dagger Brotherhood Series and then was introduced to Karen Marie Moning Highlander series and then I don't know how I got interested in BDSM but I'm glad I started off with Cherise Sinclair's Masters Of the Shadowlands series and then there is her other series the Dark Haven Series My Liege is my favorite book of all time and I am so glad it came out on Audible because Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott really brought the Dark Haven Community to life and I love listening to it just as much as I enjoy reading it.

Welcome Roberta - I only just arrived myself, but welcome! Hope you enjoy the group!!! Lot's of chance to read on those long flights!!
Hi. My name is Randall Moore. I've uploaded 9 novels onto Amazon and have posted them on Goodreads. I'm currently editing 4 novels and writing another as I ponder which direction to take. I've been querying literary agents and have been collecting rejections. I've done giveaways on Goodreads, but am disappointed that out of the forty-five books for 6 novels I've only received 3 actual reviews. This is why I've logged onto this page

Hello Randall Moore. It sounds like you and Terily would be a perfect match. She loves reviewing books that fit your genre's. She commented on April 24th. Hope it works out. Toni Mariani.
Hello,My name is Adrienne Williams and I'm a hopeless romantic and so farI have written two novels.
Boob Jobs & Angel Cakes is a story of friendship, overcoming adversity and finding love again.
One Cat, Three Creeps & a Sex God is romantic novel with a twist of suspense and a dash of humour.
Both books are available on Amazon and my website is

Currently my favourite author is Jojo Moyes.
My favourite book of all time is ‘All the Little Animals’ by Alexander Hamilton, which I first read as a teenager and has stayed in my head ever since.
I have a passion for learning new skills and although I have mainly worked in the jewellery trade, I have studied and gained qualifications in Art& design, Interior décor, and counselling skills.
When I’m not writing, I have an ongoing intention to ‘get fit’ so I wear a fitness tracker which sneers at me every day for only walking a measly three and a half thousand steps instead of the desired ten thousand.
I am constantly on a diet which I rarely follow and I love shoes, handbags and things that sparkle.
I have a yearning for a log burning stove but have a ‘realistic’ gas fire. I would like to own a dog, (probably a Jack Russell) but must make do with a grumpy tortoise who hisses at me when I pick him up.
I have a lovely husband and two grown up kids who have finally moved into homes of their own, and an elderly mother who speaks her mind.
Please look up Randall Moore. He's looking for a reviewer. Thanks.Terily wrote: "Hello Everyone

I'm in the middle of another read through. Once I finish my epic 16th Century Mediterranean epic, "The Merchant, the Jannisary and the Corsair," I'll concentrate on whipping that into shape.
A Janissary was an elite fighter in the Ottoman Empire. Their ranks were made up mostly from kidnapped children and were raised from early childhood to be fighters. A Corsair was a pirate operating out of North Africa. The Barbary Pirates were Corsairs and were aligned with the Ottoman Caliphate and joined them in warfare. They also ran the slave trade in North Africa. Their ships were rowed by captured slaves. In fact most of the galleys in the Mediterranean were rowed by slaves, the exception being the galleys of the Venetian Empire which were rowed by free men who shared in the profits of their trading missions.
My Janissary is rescued by a Venetian Merchant and rewards his generosity by shielding him from arrest by his vindictive Captain. After events bring him to the gates of Venice he joins his Venetian benefactor on a voyage of commerce where they are attacked by a superior Corsair force. Utilizing the Janissary's instincts the tables are turned and the Corsairs subdued. My hero takes pity on a most outstanding opponent, trusting him and promising to take him into his fold. Fortunes are won, brides are married. This is a swashbuckling adventure that is loaded with romance, redemption and revenge. The final battle comes from an era in history that has been largely forgotten in the West: Lepanto.
The deaths of Sarah and Patrick broke my heart. I'd never written about important characters dying before. And then Jack. It was almost more than I could stand. Then the battle of Great Wood ensued and Caleb Brody died, that just about sealed it. I've wept so many times over their deaths but have embraced Obadiah, Daniel, Justin and Ameo. Patrick's generosity to his sons echoes through my heart. The destruction of Persephone and Martin Galwick at the hands of the freedmen of Great Wood and their compatriots at Persephone, I wrote what was cathartic to me. I hope you'll reconsider "The Brothers" in that light. All the best.
Hi, everyone! My name is Drew and I am a book blogger of 3 years (link in description) I am a professional reviewer. I am currently looking for books to review. If I choose your book. Not only will you get a review, but also a Twitter blitz. I read almost anything!
Hello, my name is Marjorie Reynolds. I'm the author of The Starlite Drive-in. I've written a new novel and would like to know if you would be willing to read it and post a review on Amazon and Goodreads. Here's a short description of the book:FOR THE LOVE OF ETHAN
Delainie Franklin is a devoted mother whose ordinary life runs smoothly — until Ethan, her ten-year-old son, becomes ill. Delainie and her husband, Joel, must not only face the challenges of Ethan’s uncertain future but also survive events that test their family bonds. How far will a mother go to save her son? Delainie must make that agonizing choice.
If you're interested, I can offer a mobi for Kindle, an e-pub or a PDF by sending you a link. Amazon will not let you post a review until the book is launched, but Goodreads will.. It will be available on July 18, and you should mention in your review that you received an advanced reading copy (ARC).
Please let me know if you would like to read For the Love of Ethan.
Best regards,
Marjorie

Hello all. I'm a writer of MG fantasy adventures threaded with humour. My main hero hangs out with a sassy hamster and has to battle not only with the evil forces but also with the suspicion but a few ounces of added rodent doesn't make him the strongest fighting unit on the fantasy island of Eridor. Although aimed at 9-11 I'm hoping that they stretch 9-90. The Serpent of Eridor and Alchemy are complete; book three in progress. I'd love have them reviewed by this group, if anyone would be kind enough to offer. Many thanks, Alison.

Hello,I'm TL Clark, author of adult romance novels.
I've just posted a link in this group as I have ARCs for my new book about pagan vampires.
But I have x5 books out already, all diffferent, and they're stand alone.
I also read and review books as much as my time permits. Usually for other indie authors.
Just wanted to say hello xx
Hi everybody, my name is Layla. I write under the pen name, L.N. Denison. I write Post-Apocalyptic and Dystopic novels, which can get very dark, very quickly. But me as a person? I'm a pussy cat lol. I love to create, and I love to read other indie's work. I don't read streamline, mass market books if I can help it, as I like to give the indie's a chance. To me, some indie's are better than traditional authors, but choose not to wait indefinitely for an agent to pick them up...some one like me, who wants to be independent, and do things their own way. oh! And I love to ramble on, so I'm going to stop myself right there lol.
Hi, I'm Blair Denholm, an Australian writer of left-of-center crime fiction. My debut comic-noir novel, SOLD, has just been released and I'd like to offer it for review. So far readers have described it as a page-turner, gripping and darkly hilarious.
It's available on Amazon here:
https://www.amazon.com/Sold-Blair-Den...
My Goodreads author page is here: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...
Can supply .epub or .mobi files to serious reviewers.
Many thanks in advance!
PS. I also have a self-published kids' book for which I'd also welcome reviews.
