Aaron or Adam?

Okay
Okay
I feel like I am the only one who still likes Adam but in all honesty I can see her ending up with Warner and I am not opposed

I would have liked Adam but his character started to annoy me, like in Unravel Me he got annoying and he sounded like a clingy fan girl.

Omg!! yes! haha funny how you find adam annoying i don't i just don't think he deserves Juliette really.
Warner, definitely. I didn't like him or hate him in the first book, and I felt the same about Adam. However, in Unravel Me Warner actually had some really redeeming qualities. He's been terribly abused and he's confused, even if he doesn't realize it himself. He can't choose between obeying his father - which has been drilled into him for years - and Juliette. However, the main reason I chose Warner is because I don't like Adam. He was so sulky. His and Juliette's constant moping was seriously about to make me stop reading. And then Juliette grew up, but Adam didn't. Also, when they couldn't touch, they just went 'end of relationship. We can't be together'. Like, don't they realize that romantic relationships are more than physical?
This makes me think Juliette doesn't love Adam. As soon as the physical component was taken away from them, she ended it. And yes, it hurt her, but I feel she simply missed being touched. He was the first person who was ever kind to her and able to touch her, and she craved affection. She hadn't had any her whole life; who can blame her? However, I feel as if she merely thinks she loves Adam because she hasn't had a real relationship with anyone before and therefore she automatically thought she was in love. Even though she had friends in Unravel Me, they weren't able to touch her; something she wanted more than anything. However, she developed feelings for Warner despite originally hating him and with virtually no physical contact: I believe she had feelings for him before Chapter 62.
So yeah. Team Warner. Or Aaron, depending on which name you prefer to use :)

I think I'm still undecided because Aaron was amazing in Book 2! But then she feels her heart still belongs to Adam, so...
Well near the end of the book, she admittedly thought "my hearts still feels so tied to him." yes. But then she went on "I feel bound to him, like I need to make up for having already hurt so much." So i think it might her guilt that keeps her from fully detaching from Adam. idk, thats my two-cent on this.
When I was re-reading the whole thing, I kind of had some sort of theory: Juliette doesn't really love Adam (like him? Maybe). Like one of the users said, she only craved being touched by someone who doesn't get killed. But somehow I get this feeling that Juliette is only being with Adam too because she feels as if she owes him. I mean, what do you do when someone saves you? You try to return the favor, of course. I highly doubt that Juliette loved Adam in the first place. Okay, they used to be classmates, but what else? What other reason was there other than him saving her that, sorry for the term, ignited a fire between these two characters? So what if it wasn't Adam who was sent to spend time with Juliette? What if it was a different soldier, and, let's say, he has Adam's Gift? Would Juliette fall for him instead?
The memory of how they met as children was only triggered when she saw Adam.
I don't know if my theory is correct or not, but I do think that she only started liking him because 1. He can touch her 2. They knew each other back then 3. He saved her
And for Warner....need I explain?

warner loved j despite knowing from the beginning that he can't touch her.. as for j and adam.. when they can't touch they end their relationship,, since when loving someone depends on physical contact.. they have a physical relationship with no base.. they don't even speak to each other, they can't even put a conversation ..

This is how I imagine them when they make out (in a really cheesy and melodramatic way you know)
Warner,I think everyone liked Adam in Shatter Me because he was THE ONLY good thing in it but in Unravel me Warner appears to be both good and charming and more :)

That's true.

I hope so! Let me know if there is :) And btw, I feel like Adam was good for J in the first one but now, her character has developed so much from that broken girl she was and now she is this fierce woman on a mission. She is much stronger now and I think, like this (how she is in the second book, by the end), J and Warner are PERFECT for each other now that she's grown stronger. AARON WARNER ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE HIM!! :D
Stefani wrote: "When I was re-reading the whole thing, I kind of had some sort of theory: Juliette doesn't really love Adam (like him? Maybe). It seem as if she feels she owes Adam for saving her and that breaking up with him after all he's done for her would be like saying she was ungrateful. It's as if she thinks that being with him will pay off a debt. If she feels obligated to be in a relationship, it's obviously not a real one.
Can we just talk about how hot and perfect Warner and Kenji are? Why do those two have to be so hot?
Aaron Warner!!!!!!!!!Can someone please notify Ms.Mafi about the mass of fans who will cry and possibly burn book three is Warner is not Juliette's happy ending? Cause I feel that it's necessary!
@vanessa I seem to agree with you once again :P in book one I would question the sanity of any girl claiming to be team Warner but the. You get to book two and you're like "Adam I love you, I feel for you, but.... Warner".
Yes! Seriously, if Warner and Juliette aren't together in the last book I will cry... or scream... or burn the book (depending on how much energy I have after being so frustrated over any no-Warner-and-Juliette action in the third one ;) )
Mafi said that there will mostly be some kissing scenes in the third book—and mind you, Juliette will choose the person she loves in the BEGINNING of the book. When her mom asked her what chapters have "chapter 62"s, Mafi said all of them. [le squeeee]
And, hopefully, we'll get a wedding scene too. Someone suggested it to TM and I think she plans on considering the suggestion.

A WEDDING!!!!!!!! OH MY GOD,I AM FREAKING OUT :D
And if Juliet didn't end up with Warner,it'll be a TOTAL BULLSHIT,because her and Adam almost have 1% chemistry and Her and Warner 100000000% Chemistry ;)
I love Adam just not wih Juliet she weakens him and that makes her feel guilty but Warner see her strenght and she' not afraid of anything around him they make each other strong, they are electric *.*
Yeah xDI kinda thought about that...about how Warner would react if Juliette picks Adam. I really don't want that to happen.
@ stefani you just made my day!!!!!!! BUT NOW I NEED THE THIRD BOOK NOW!!!!! This is ridiculous!! I want more Aaron Warner! Lol
UPDATE: BOOK 3's COVER AND TITLE WILL BE REVEALED ON AUGUST 8 at @hollywoodcrushWe'll be getting it on Thursday guys!! Thursday!!
I have a great feeling Warner is really going to die in the third book, a sacrifice for Juliette. I know it I really know it's going to happen. Juliette and Adam will be together and my heart is breaking. Novellas are usually written for supporting character and I guess Warner will always be second. I'm team Warner by the way but I just felt like this is where the road is headed down. I could hear in my mind what Juliette would say at the end, like thanking Warner for all he'd done for her
F! Look at tahereh mafi's post --- "whatever you think is going to happen is probably not what I'm thinking is going on" <---- Right now I feel so SHATTERED :'(
I just hope to God that I'm just a pessimist :(
As a Team Warner I'll give you all a boosterJust found this in tumblr, This is not mine but I guess it speaks out for all Warner fans :)))
“Juliette with Adam is not her best. She gets weaker with Adam, she leans on Adam, she doesn’t stand up and do her own thing. Adam carries her like she’s this fragile little flower that’s going to break and die. He doesn’t encourage her to do things herself. When she’s with Adam, she’s too comfortable, she doesn’t grow and we need her to grow as a character and Juliette is literally weakening Adam by being with him. She’s literally draining him. His health is threatened. Now let’s look at her with Warner. Warner is always challenging Juliette, to be independent, to be stronger, to use her abilities, to take control. And while Warner is mentally challenging Juliette, Juliette is constantly challenging Warner. She’s challenging him to be a better person, she’s encouraging him to lose this monster persona that he has held onto for so long because of his father. Be a good person, be the person she knows is inside him but he’s hiding from the world because he thinks it’s embarrassing.” (x)
On which guy is better for Juliette not which is the better guy.

“Juliette with Adam is not her best. She gets weaker wit..."
whoever wrote that..is totally right. As much as i love adam, he isn't good for her (right now ;P), and she, obviously isn't good for him. So..maybe they should take a break or something..a REAL break and Juliette could hang out with Warner a little bit more. :D If they arne't hanging out..whatever. That leads me to the following: I AM A FULLBLOODED TEAM WARNER. :D
"I have a great feeling Warner is really going to die in the third book, a sacrifice for Juliette." - JacquelineYES. I have felt the same way since I read Unravel Me! Juliette can't choose without having adverse consequences for her relationship. If she chooses Adam, Warner will probably go on a rampage and possibly rat Omega Point to his father (cause I'm still not convinced that Warner is free from the constant need to please his father, especially if Juliette chooses Adam). But there is also a chance that Warner has nothing to live for now that the only person who ever gave him a chance betrayed him. And If she chooses Warner, Adam will literally have nothing to live for anymore either. Juliette and James is ALL he has. He can't even backtrack to his old life like Warner can. No matter who Juliette chooses, there will be consequences, these boys have invested too much of themselves in her to be able to back away unscathed.
So that brings me to my point. TEAM ADAM FOREVER. Adam was the one who believed in Juliette. Its not enough to say that the only reason she loved him is because he could touch her. He absolutely loved her, when she needed love the most. To be honest, Juliette needs a guy who can flex around and change with her. Warner is too inhibited with the ghosts of his past to be able to change and be what Juliette needs all the time. Just because she needs him RIGHT NOW to push her and challenge her, it doesn't mean that she will ALWAYS need that push. When things simmer down and their normal life begins, Juliette won't need a push, she'll needs something stable. She needs the stability that Adam gave her and continues to give her. The touch thing is a sad obstacle, but seriously, I really believe that if Adam exerts himself into focusing his energies enough, as hard as it seems, they can get through it. Warner is just too unstable for Juliette.
So considering that Juliette does choose Adam, it makes total sense that Warner has to die. He has nothing left to do in the world. The only thing that ever mattered to him was Juliette and if he can redeem himself by sacrificing his life for Juliette then thats as good as it gets for Warner. Its a big Tale Of Two Cities type thing.
Plus, finders keepers, losers weepers. Adam has wanted Juliette for ten years and has kept looking for her nonstop. Now, he should finally get her.
I also think Warner is going to die but I don't want that to happen! :( TEAM WARNER!!! Soooo... he can be with Juliette and than they can save the world from his father and all the other stuff. Adam can be a soldier and he falls in love with an other girl. Isn't that pretty? One happy family :p
hahhaha I'm team Warner too and even though Tahereh seems to be leaning on the Warner I don't really think we're gonna get that. I know I'm gonna be disappointed with the choice Juliette will make but I will read it for the sake of finishing it and to see where these all go down.
I terribly want Warner and Juliet together. While reading the book I thought and thought and finally realised. Juliet is weak with Adam but with Warner she feels useful and tough. So Ya definitely Warner.
Warner is a really complex character and yes, he cares about juliette and even loves her, but I think Adam is the one she should end up with. I wouldn't be super disappointed if she chose Warner- I mean, though he is or was murdering people- and god knows what else- there is some attraction towards him. But people- don't you like that Adam and Juliette knew each other since they were little??? I mean, that's the cutest thing that they found each other and she loves him so much. Not to forget Adam loves Juliette, too!! He really does. People always say Warner would do anything for Juliette but what about Adam? I mean, look what he has already done for her!
And Warner doesn't really respect Juliette's and Adam's relationship, does he? Do you think Adam would have kissed Juliette if he knew that she was with another guy? And commented on him with things like- oh! He's such a wimp! Come on, Juliette! I'm so much better for you!! Forget your feelings about him and look at my tattoos!
I know, you guys like the bad guy. And I do feel very sad and was so emotional about what happened to him and about his godless father and those things but maybe if he found some other girl for him, maybe that would be better, I don't know. I still care about Warner, though.
It's just for me as a Warner fan, which I have always been since Shatter Me, Adam is not a 3D character. I don't feel him or can't empathize with him. I just don't see him much of a person, he doesn't have much character. It's like he's there just so Juliette won't be alone but I can't feel the love or their connection. They don't talk about their likes or dislikes, their dreams, the world that is out there. Instead of making Juliette confident about herself, he makes her weak, Juliette's always conscious around him like she can't be herself. Isn't it that when you love someone you are at your best with him, you're more free, fearless, strong, happy. Adam maybe can provide some of that but not all. She loves the Juliette that is kind but I don't see much appreciation on who she is and what she can do in which the story mainly revolves around --- Juliette's powers. Warner's imperfect, did a lot of damage maybe even broken; but that doesn't mean he don't deserve to be loved. I think that is what Warner makes human, the confusion, guilt, remorse, anger, love, lust that he felt. He seems more human, vulnerable inside but cold on the outside, it just takes the right person to crack him open and get to know him.
I would be utterly disappointed if Juliette ends up with Adam, which I think will; such cliche endings and relationships, I hate those.
Okay, so I firstly read 'Shatter Me' and I thought I would be Team Adam the whole way through then I read 'Unravel Me' and man, did I change my mind. Aaron Warner is just sooooooo amazing! I JUST CAN'T HANDLE WAITING UNTIL NEXT YEAR FOR THE RELEASE OF THE THIRD BOOK! AHHHHHHHHH! :)
Jacqueline wrote: "It's just for me as a Warner fan, which I have always been since Shatter Me, Adam is not a 3D character. I don't feel him or can't empathize with him. What would the point of all the stuff with Warner if she just winds up with Adam?
All that character and relationship development would just be washed down the drain. I think it's pretty obvious with Tahereh prefers Warner as a character and I don't really think she's just messing with us about that. I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high just to be let down but I really feel like she'll end up with Warner, and if she ends up with Adam it'll probably really change how I feel about the series.
Phaedra wrote: "I hope so she will end up with Warner! Fingers crossed! :D"
Me too.
Me too.
Why do you people like warner so much?? You fell for the tattoos and his talking and everything? I know it's about forgiving and stuff- but he SHOT a man in the head! Forced Juliette to torture a toddler!!! I mean, have you forgotten all that? I didn't like Warner at all in the first book- which I think wasn't a coincidence. I think Tahereh wrote it like that- for us to hate him- or at least not sympathize him that much- in the first and like him in the second book.
And I did find him more human in unravel me- but the things he did won't just vanish just because he loves Juliette...??? I can't quite remember but did he feel sorry for doing those things? Would you actually want to be with someone like this in real life?
Tahereh did a very good job in making him a more "interesting" person then.
Don't get me wrong or anything: Yes, I like Adam and no, I don't hate Warner anymore but -for me- I wouldn't want him as my boyfriend. Because what does that say about myself? I don't care about what he did in the past? It doesn't matter how he treats people as long as he's nice to me? Do I forgive him because he really is sorry for what he did? which he's not I think..
Wow- this is a really complicated thing we got here...
I understand why you want him to be with her- but on the other hand- I don't really.
Michaela wrote: "Why do you people like warner so much?? You fell for the tattoos and his talking and everything? I know it's about forgiving and stuff- but he SHOT a man in the head! Forced Juliette to torture a t..."We like him because he's Aaron Warner. We love EVERYTHING about him
@Michaela- We all have our reasons for loving Warner. I think that's something you shouldn't question. I mean, what if you fell deeply, madly and utterly in love with someone? And this someone has caused a lot of suffering to other people, even, maybe, to you. But you love him. What if someone asks you why, and they'll point out all the bad things he's done. What'll you say?
It's impossible to answer the question "why" sometimes.
I fell for Warner not because of the tattoo and the chapter 62 scene. I fell for him because of how much he goes through every day. How long it took him to know how to completely block away all of his unwanted emotions. How he wanted to go against his father but can't. It's the small things in the book that show that he is human and is capable of having human emotions such as fear and love. It's not the tattoo, but the way he talks about it and how it holds a deep meaning to him. It's not the shooting, but the way he feels guilt after he does it. There was a part in Destroy Me where he killed this man for a just reason, yet his father had to mess with this one and kill the guy's family.
"Sometimes love chooses you." That's what I believe when it comes to the whole Juliette-Warner thing. You can never control who you love. Even if they are mistaken for psychopaths.
Tahereh made him so people would either love or hate him. Same with Adam. Each character has a purpose in the story, and everything they say and do is all the author's idea.
I've honestly had enough of people comparing Adam to Warner. How they say that they're both misunderstood and that Adam went through more things.
Well they both went through a lot. Physically and emotionally.
But I have my own reasons for loving Warner. What I said earlier wasn't even half of it. And those reasons, whether they justify why I want him to end up with Juliette, are things that even I can't explain properly.
I apologize for my lengthy reply, but meh. I get too passionate when defending my favorite character.
