I love Matty even more !

Matt scooted himself under the tree next to Julie, and instantly he could feel the shift. In himself, in reality… Maybe even between them. The rest of the room disappeared, leaving the two of them alone beneath the dance of the Christmas lights. There was no outside world anymore, because under the tree they were shielded from everything. It was beautiful. Beautiful and terrifying.
Things were never “fine” with Celeste. Even if picking up Celeste from school hadn’t been an outright disaster, something unusual, or strained, or difficult must have taken place. Julie had no long-term experience with Celeste, and just because Julie had done well with his sister over the matter of a few days didn’t mean that she knew what to say. And what not to say. It wouldn’t take much to push Celeste over the edge, and for all Matt knew, he was walking into a house now filled with a hundred Flat Finns. A Flat Army poised to defend and protect Celeste.

LOL Cheryl! I have such a variety of BB's it's insane...but then again, variety is the spice of life. If you must know, I am also partial to Cameron Hamilton, Andrew Parrish, Holder, Will, Trent, and of course Matt! :)

lol - yes, Beth we have had this conversation before about our Book Boyfriends and I am definitely all over the board with my taste in them... You mentioned Holder and a big fat smile stretched across my face. Though Matt was one of my first ones last summer. There will always be a special place for him in my heart =) BTW - who is Trent? Did I miss one!!!?

Even now, in front of the fire, she shivered in her sleep. Without thinking, Matt lay on his side next to her and propped himself up on one arm. For a few minutes, he just took her in. Then he scooted forward slightly, wanting to warm her with his body, wanting to be as close to her as possible, and wanting to protect her even though the danger had passed. She rolled back against him, touching her back to his chest. Slowly and gently, he brushed the hair from her face. The color had returned to her cheeks. She was all right.

....very well said!

Oh my gosh! I just bought it from Amazon, and I am dying from anticipation. I'm expecting it to come in the mail any day now, and I can't wait to get my hands on it.

**spoiler alert**
The last chapter of FOM was so freakin' steamy (for this type of book) that I had to take a moment between pages and compose myself. It wasn't Fifty Shades of Grey or anything, but trust me it was "fan your face like a Southern Belle" worthy.

As much as having her here threatened the equilibrum of the household, Matt would miss Julie. That didn't make sense considering that he'd only known her for a few days, but he couldn't deny that she had an energy and a light about her that brought Celeste noticable happiness. No, perhaps not happiness, exactly. Some peace, maybe? Not an easy feat at all.
Prequel Chapter :
Matt brushed her hair from her face and set a pile of curls behind her shoulder. “I should take you to get another haircut soon, huh?” Matt paused, waiting for a response that wasn’t going to come. “Baby girl, please.”
Celeste continued looking out the window. “Do not call me that, Matthew.”
Matt sighed. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean—"
“That is what he called me, and I do not want to hear those two words adjoined like that. Especially from you.”
He had to give her credit. She really knew how to drive the knife in further.
