Same Here. I have read lots of books & never left one unfinished but 50 Shades I just couldn't force myself to finish. I got to like Chapter 5 I think and gave up.

i've never read the boy in the striped pajamas - but i cried like a baby watching the movie.
& even though i liked the Hunger Games... i didn't love it, ya know?
another book i didn't care for was the Mermaid Chair.

I agree with Jon. Like that movie about megashark versus giant octopus. W..."
Galileo's Daughter was a library pick and we could buy it for two dollars so now i own this truly bad book. so boring i told the group i was to old to read this and i was only 46 at the time.

i did not care for anything by Nora Roberts either however even though i know it is still her writing the book i find i do like the ones when she writes under the pseudonym J.D. Robb if you have not tried any of the death books by her go to thrift books where they are inexpensive and maybe give them a try.

i did not like dark lover at all for the first twenty or so pages because it was so graphic however my sister convinced me to keep reading and i really ended up liking it i have the next two in the series and will read those soon but not now i have Faking It to read and i am looking forward to it to much to wait any longer. also i liked all of the twilight books and they were not nearly as violet as the black dagger brotherhood books. i had to get over the difference to appreciate it.

i just found Eat Pray Love to be so boring...and i wanted to slap the main character - can't even remember her name!
Worst book ever for me though is Almost Moon by The Lovely Bones writer - really terrible book! and i love The Lovely Bones so much that i nearly cried at how awful Almost Moon was!!

I will definitely stay away from that one, thanks!

I made it halfway through Dark Lover before calling it quits. I hated all of the characters and story line... and seriously, who wants to smush with some guy that comes busting in their home?!

it was really hard to read for me.
old Southern English was just hard for me.
i'll probably read re-read it someday, if i'm required to do so, or just get the summary in wiki.lol.

I've also tried to give Wuthering Heights a go, but haven't been able to get into it. The language is just too different for me to grasp. It's a classic, so I'll give it another go, but I'm not too confident about it.

You can tell from this whole thread that there is a wide range of books people hate and just as many reasons why. But you hit it on the head, Asha. I think a "bad book" is definitely one that makes you just cringe every time you hear the name of it. Spot on!

I find it hard to read Southern English written phonetically a la Gone with the Wind, The Help, and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. I use audio books to help with that. Great books, but hard to get through for me.

Fallen as in Lauren Kate's Fallen? or the other fallen series?

Didn't love them either I also bought and read the entire series. The best one was Eclipse but even it at its best was only a three star. The last one was the worst. The Bree Tanner story was better than the entire series

feels better to find out that there exist more of my kind :P

I'll also agree with everyone on the House of Night series. Just stop already. She shouldn't have gone past the first three.
