A Knight of the Word by Terry Brooks needs some fixing.

The cover is incorrect. It's not even the correct image. http://www.scifinow.co.uk/wp-content/... <-- correct image

In the book list, the series shows as (Word & the Void, #2) it should show in the book list as (Word & the Void, #2).

The page number is 271.

The publish date for the eBook is January 18, 2001

Thanks.

Emy (emypt) | 5037 comments Most eBooks do not have fixed page numbers. Ballantine do not give any page numbers at all for the book: http://www.randomhouse.com/book/18988...

18/01/2001 is the date currently shown for the ebook publication.

The cover was set by the feed some time ago. An alternate cover edition will be needed for the new cover if it doesn't already exist (haven't managed to check yet)

The series is now correct.

The series has not been fixed. According to Terry Brooks (the author), it is Word & Void. http://www.terrybrooks.net/novels/ It needs to be fixed in the book listing and elsewhere. All three books in the series are Word & The Void (incorrect) when they should be Word & Void (correct).

The cover came from B&N and all of B&N's rounded corner covers are wrong. Plus, it's not the correct image. So what's the deal to fixing the cover?

You have been told before that this is untrue. You may not like the rounded covers, but they are just as valid as an others, and will not be changed just because you dislike them.

The series was ALREADY Word and Void. It is that now.

If it is an alternate cover, then adding an alternate cover edition is the appropriate course of action, NOT replacing a valid cover that may well be the cover on other people's editions. I will create an ACE shortly.

Monique (kadiya) | 1097 comments I see the issue with the series name. It's not the series, which is indeed correct as Emy says; it's the series name that is in parentheses in the actual title field (when you go to edit the entry) that includes the word "the". I am correcting that now.

Monique (kadiya) | 1097 comments I see that the description on this version is really a book review. I'll get to it or if someone else gets to it before me, that's cool too.

Got most of the review-in-descriptions now... It should be right but shout if it's not showing for anyone else!!

And the Omnibus calls it "The Word and the Void" as well. However, I am a Terry Brooks fan and have read these and follow him a great deal. JSWolf is right. Terry Brooks calls it Word & Void for series name.

I'm inclined to leave at least one book with the "The"s in so that if someone searches on that variant they are also found. Rivka is that how the search engine works, or is THE a stop word?

Monique (kadiya) | 1097 comments Not that it needs to be done right now, but I also noticed that the series(es) associated with Shannara are all messed up as well (including a trilogy with 4 primary works!). Please don't change anything yet. I am going to go to Terry's web site and get all the correct series names and set up a chron order and a pub order and get this mess straightened out.

And before I actually make any changes to the series(es), I'll post here exactly how I am doing it so it can be discussed.

That sounds very good. Thank you. One other thing please. Can you check the cover images as a lot of them for the eBooks may be incorrect or not as high a resolution as Goodreads allows. Also, I would appreciate a PM letting me know what's what or where to look for your information.

I'm not just asking for the covers to be changed because of the rounded corners but because they are actually the wrong cover image. I've linked to the publisher's site to show the proper cover image yet that seems to be ignored for some reason. Why is the cover change I requested being ignored?

I would also ask for a cover change when the cover is not as high a resolution that Goodreads supports. The idea is to have the proper cover image with as good a quality as possible.

Emy (emypt) | 5037 comments Rivka has spoken - the cover will not be changed unless she or another member of staff authorises it. Certainly I won't go against the PTB!

I would like to know why when I've pointed out that it's not the correct cover image.

The most likely reason is that it was published with that cover at some point and then changed to the cover you have later. At GoodReads we never remove a published cover, just add an alternate cover edition, which Emy said in her original reply to you.

Because it was published with that cover and people own the book with that cover. Changing it would change it on people's shelves, and that's like someone going into someone else's home and pulling their books off their shelves and replacing them with different covers without permission.
