Channasl | 138 comments Have you recently read any authors that seem to continually hit the mark in their stories. I mean authors that have a great story line a long with the sex scenes. It seems to me that there are several authors that don't put much time into developing the story. However, I am trying to find some that are! So far I have the following:

Pepper Pace
Billy London
Erosa Knowles

Monica (wwwbookdevourblogspotcom) | 16 comments I agree on P.P. she is an amazing author. I've tried the other two you mentioned, but was sorely dissapointed with E.K. and I can't get into B.L.

I've been really happy with everything that I've read by Latrivia S. Nelson. I haven't read everything, but I have yet to hear anything bad.

@Channasl, I would add Mercedes Keyes as an author who consistently delivers a good story. I have been very pleased with what I have read.

TinaNoir | 1456 comments Seressia Glass. Her contemporaries are excellent and her foray into Paranormal was underrated but well wroth the look.

Lena Matthews. Does sexy, romantic and funny well. She does wonderful dialogue.

Pepper Pace. Love the fact that her characters are never conventional. You don't get same ol' same ol' with her.

Shelly Laurenston. I've read everything of hers I can get my hands on. Even the short stories. I feel like she is writing just for me.

message 9: by Nadine (new)

Nadine (peanutsmom) | 81 comments Adding to the list because I agree with many already mentioned.

Dorothy Koomson, her characters are flawed, her stories are unconventional and her writing is excellent. She doesn't do sappy or intense love scenes but you feel the love and respect among her character.

Yeah, I have to second Monica's recommendation of Theodora Taylor. She also does a interracial book review blog that's really good at breaking down the good, bad, and ugly before spending your money: http://irbookreviews.com/

Sienna Mynx and Aliyah Burke very rarely disappoint too.

message 11: by Channasl (new)

Channasl | 138 comments I had forgotten about Aliyah Burke I really enjoy most of her books as well.

I don't know much about Shelly Laurenston. Are her novels IR? I may have to check them out!

message 12: by Monica (last edited Mar 05, 2013 11:26AM) (new)

Monica (wwwbookdevourblogspotcom) | 16 comments Shely Laurentson writes some I/R. I'm a huge fan of her as well. She is Shelly Laurenston and G.A. aiken. So you can look up her titles based on those names. I read all of her books, including her short stories as well. I believe that I've read " What a dragon should know" (not I/R) and "Beast behaving badly"(i/r) at least five times each. She has an ability to make you laugh, lust, and all of her female characters are strong minded and willed.

Has anyone ever read Nadia Aidan? She has a few I/R books that are paranormal and she also delivers good stories. "Mark of Kane" stands out the most for me.

Oh yeah, and Violette Dubrinsky. I love all of her books; she writes a good story with lots of interesting characters, good sex, and action. Her "warrior" book was so good; it started slow, but built up until I was obsessed over it. I cannot wait for the next one to come out. In fact, I can't wait for any of her next books to come out!

message 13: by TinaNoir (new)

TinaNoir | 1456 comments What I love about Shelly Laurenston is not only are her books IR (heroines is her books are white,, black, Latina, Asian and Native American. Heroes tend to be white) but they feature big, multicultural casts.

She populates her series with whole groups of people who are different races and who have deep friendships across racial lines. Especially the women.

Savannah- Quad Motherin' Book Readin' Diva (quadmom2005) | 1549 comments Satan will wear hockey skates before I buy/read another Latrivia Nelson book. Sorry, but that's just my level of frustration as she's gone into my "hyped for no reason" column, right alongside Aliyah Burke.

Taking no prisoners in 2014. Either they bring it to a level that deserves all those 4 and 5 stars or they are getting knocked.

The image that went through my head had me cracking up. I blame South Park, lol.

I was just about to mention Dorothy Koomson. :) She doesn't do explicit sex scenes. However, her stories are still amazing.
