This exists in real life; it is called 'lots of money'.

Yeah, but you might "hear" some stuff you really didn't want to hear. :)

Raivo Verk | 23 comments But that's the fun part too, you can jump back and forth as many times as you like, you'll see infinite amount of futures - if you change something in the past, that is. Would be interesting to see what effects a little 'pebble' would do, if thrown to a different place/way.

Just watching that made me dizzy.

Rich (justanothergringo) | 0 comments I chose teleportation, because I'm on my usual 5:12 AM train to work right now, and I could have used an extra hour of sleep this morning. I suspect I'd eventually start using the powers to pop in and out of bank vaults.

Malia Haberman I suspect I'd eventually start using the powers to pop in and out of bank vaults.

Yep, someone always uses their power to turn to crime. :)

Jed (specklebang) | 109 comments Actually, my most frequent daydream is to be a Healer. No, I'm not free, but I'm reasonably priced.

That's basically the main reason I want teleportation. :P

Doc (docd3) | 59 comments How about the ability to totally self heal any physical or mental problems?

Ain't it the truth.

Alan Denham (alandenham) | 256 comments Interesting discussion! Questions like this usually don't get very far, but this one seems to have come produced some clear front runners - teleportation and telekinesis.
OK, if it came down to it, I might fancy one of them as well - but in the mean time let me propose some form of illusionism. David Brin, in Startide Rising (great book! I must write a proper review), describes combat between a dolphin and a dolphin/killer whale hybrid, in which one of the strategies is the creation of false sound/echo images of the environment. A friend and I in our own book proposed a human equivalent, using smoke to create illusions. I can send a pdf to anyone willing to review it. Any offers?

Mike Slade | 9 comments Healer. Hands down. Cure wounds and sickness, rid diseases etc.
If it can be only one, it would be to cure sickness/disease and not wounds.

Peggy (psramsey) | 393 comments Well, I was going to say invisibility, but now Mike made me feel guilty. :-)

I do like the idea being a healer.

Julia | 957 comments I've changed my mind. I want to be the Doctor's companion, with a TARDIS key.

Mary Fan (astralcolt) | 5 comments Not sure if it counts as a magic power, but I've seen superheros with it: the ability to instantaneously learn. That is, if I see someone do something, I immediately know how to do it too. I could do everything from kung fu to how to fix a sink!
