Sorry guys that I couldn't find a book with better points this week. I hope I can score more points in week 6.

I liked the first couple in that series, Gisbelle. Good choice! I'm thinking of
which is good for shelf + plot + title or
which is good for shelf + plot + setting.
I will probably reread
The next one is coming in May and I always reread the one before it right before the new one comes out.
Obviously it'll get location, name, plot and probably cover. I don't think it'll get title though because unless it's been changed, the series was called Southern Vampires. ETA: goodreads has it as Sookie Stackhouse.
This show is pretty much a gimmee for high point books unless you don't want to read the series or can't get them easily.
So the Sookie Stackhouse books also get title pts because True Blood is listed as an alternate series name under the Sookie Stackhouse Series page here. If it's also on the supernatural shelf, I'll be surprised if it's not, then it's the first time I'll have a book that gets every single category in this & Dance Party.

Week: True Blood 2008
4/16/13 ***** stars
Shelf + Plot (mystery/shifters) + setting(Louisiana)=11 points
Review
I loved this book by Christine Feehan. One of the few books set in Louisiana that didn't bug me. I can imagine a lair of shifters living in a swamp! The heroine of the book is Saria and she is one of CF's best. Young but feisty - but not to the point of irritation. And Drake, who was introduced in a previous book, is a strong alpha character, but you get the sense that he honestly likes Saria. The plot involves trying to solve a murder that Saria has uncovered and in the middle of it, she is discovering that she is a leopard shifter. This makes for all kinds of excitement. The story had very few of CF's annoying habits and moved quickly. Loved it!

Gunsmoke 1955Shelf:Historical
Cover: horse, cowboy hat, horse drawn wagon
Plot: Western, Law-enforcement
Title: Gun, Smoke
Name: Matt Dillon, Charles Adams, Kitty Russell
Setting: Published in 1955, Set in Kansas
Well I had this at one time but I think it got donated to the thrift store because my library has them. But now my local library is showing their copy as being in "storage". I requested a copy from another branch but will look for something else. It has cover, plot and location. (one of the old Spanish editions has a horse on the cover)
Ok going to see if any of my other Western Romances are set in Kansas.
I also have this:
has shelf, cover, plot and setting. Haven't checked for names yet.
But.., I might want to keep this in reserve for another challenge and it's too early to read it for that. Right now it's my front runner.
Ooh I just found this as a freebie on kindle and it's short. I think it only has location and plot though. Looks like one of the main characters is in law enforcement and it's set in Kansas.
hello team. I have several westerns with horses on the cover. I will try and find one set in Kansas.
Do you want some recommendations, Gisbelle? I am very choosy over what westerns I like to read. I haven't had a chance to look yet for a book. I am flying home today. I will be so happy to be home!
Yes, please, Leslie :) I haven't read many westerns before and most of those I have read were not that good either.
Give me until tomorrow, Gisbelle. I will check them out to see which ones I've read that will fit this week's tv show.
I found this one
It works for shelf + cover + plot + setting = 12 points
Got good reviews.
is another one. I've read this one and loved it. It would work for shelf + cover + plot

This was a reread for me. I always reread (well listen) to the last one right before the new one comes out. So this was good timing. Just as good as the first time. I know a lot of people feel like the series is declining and there are others upset that she's ending it soon. I love the series but I'm glad she's ending it and I've know for awhile now that she was only going to do 14 books. Some series just go on way too long, coughstephanieplumcoughcough. At least in this one the characters make progress in their lives.
One complaint about the audio version: I normally read the print version first and then listen to the audio version right before the next one. Normally I really like the reader and I did this time. But whoever did the editing did a bad job. There's odd pauses when it went from one segment to the next. Not the normal pauses when a new chapter starts but it would happen right in the middle of a paragraph or sentence. I could tell it was an editing issue and not the reader.
I still haven't settled on a book for Gunsmoke. But I'll look for one now. If I can't find anything better than the Janette Kenney book then I'll just read that one and use something else for the challenge that I was saving it for.
Picked one. Came across it by accident but I love stuff like this. And I was excited to see that the Philly Free Library had it with no wait line.

I might start this too and just review whatever I finish first. I had planned to read it this year for the 1001 Books to Read Before You Die Challenge. I have this in audio and need a new audio book to start anyway. I thought about just using this yesterday but I didn't think it would get more than location. But it's apparently got shelf, plot, setting and name for 16 pts.

Review
Wow, I was not expecting this book. This is not your typical historical western romance. The characters were so different and engaging and the storyline was a unique twist on a tale of revenge. Cat O'Banyon remade herself with the help of Alexi Romanov after her husband is brutally killed. She is now a bounty hunter and on the hunt for the man who destroyed her life. Alexi is confidence man and also hiding from a brutal past. Those hidden lives collide as they come together to hunt down the man responsible. Her writing is fast paced and easy to read. Her characters well done and intriguing. I've never read this author before but this will not be the last.

RL needs to move over for the important things!!And sorry you weren't crazy about the book. I thought it was alot of fun. Very different from most westerns, which is also not my favorite genre.
Here is this weeks Show!
Roseanne 1988

Plot: Dysfunctional Family
Title: Rose, Anne or Roseanne
Name: Roseanne,Dan,Jackie,D.J.,Darlene, or Becky
Setting: Illinois, Pub in 1988

Have to think about this one!
Well the first Illinois book that pops into my head are the Harry Dresden books by Jim Butcher. But I don't think they'd have any other connecters.
Hell's Bells, It's one to ponder. I just came across this which looks like setting & name and I don't know if it has anything else. My computer locked up before I could look any more:
I don't know if the skyscapers on this edition would count as a "home" or not since some are probably apartments. Or whether or not the edition with a bride & groom would count as a family or not.
