Children should be reading these in class

I read these books when I was in third and fourth grade, and know I am reading them to my nine year old kid brother who absolutly loves the series. Although they are not at his schools library and his teachers have asked for him not to read them there because they are to 'violent'. Now if you have read these books they are completely perfect for younger kids to get into reading books because of the characters and the different monsters. I also let my brother watch the anime series that matches the books after reading them completely. He was seven when I started reading to him and now he reads one of the books everyday as a light read, he also has the shadowland series and the dragon series. I just think if they had more books kids want to read in primary and grade school than they would be more willing to read in junior high and high school.

I agree, I didn't get to read these books as a child, but I watched the show, which led me and my older sister to get the books, and they are great. If kids start reading things at a young age, they are more likely to like reading when they are older, and it's just better for them.
