The Oath of the Vayuputras
question
How much time did it take you to recover from the finale of the book ??

*Spoiler*
This might be one of the most heart breaking stories of my life. I literally felt the pain felt by everyone in the book. It took me more than a day to recover from this sorrow. It absolutely felt like I have suffered a great loss myself !! The writing of Amish absolutely captured the true and just emotions that everyone was feeling after the great loss, which made it even more immense. Truly a just but devastating finale to the great series ...

The ending is very much predictable. The first two books were still okay, inspite of too much of Bollywood style, but this third one doesn't worth a read.
I ended up in tears at the end despite being known as a stone hearted guy.... but recovered immediately after the book by picking up another one :)
Extremely predictable climax!! It was evident what was going to happen! Amish beat around the bush a little too much IMHO!
It was really a bad ending. Yes, I did not expect a happy ending, but I thought something good will happen at the last. It turns out that all good was destroyed just for the mistake of TWO people. Whole civilization vanished. So many innocent and moral people died bcoz of anger. How can he do that? He was supposed to be a GOD, wasn't he?
Sati's last fight and her death was really sad. It can make anybody crying for ageses. She was my fav charecter. :(

the book is one of the most inspirational i ever read... so great... it was too sad but realistic... making us believe that shiva is after all a human... my heart goes out to him...
i fell its so unfair that sati had to die.but that how the story is in the legends.the ending shows that even gods have personal loses, that they too have feelings.the painful ending shows Shiva's eternal love for his wife and the large heart he possesses.it still makes me sad.i remember crying a little and wanting to personally kill those assassins when sati was mercilessly killed.
i thank Amish sir a thousands times for giving us such a moving story.i hope he continues to give us more purehearted stories in the future as well..

The trilogy was one of the best books that I have read recently. Deeply resonated with my consciousness and brought about a hazy realization/knowing that this is largely the truth, this is how it happened, we know it because a lot of us were there.
Expected more from the author. Frankly the first two books were much than the final one. there were moments of deep philosophy which got you thinking... and the part where one of the main character dies..omg..i was completely aghast and shocked! never expected it. extremely disappointed with the ending.
i hardly love "happy ever after end" but this kind of ending is seriously devastating. but whatever the end was i still love AMISH TRIPATHI'S WORK. HE IS ONE OF MY FAV AUTHORS.
I found that the expression of the tragedy swung from being either extremely cold and detached to a bit too dramatic. In the end, I just felt cold and could not identify with any emotions Amish tried to illicit. Certainly in the case of emotions, less is more and the more one leaves to the readers' imagination the better it probably is!
I could not put down the book for the last 150 pages or so. Despite it being a week night, I stayed up to finish the book by 2:30 a.m. The manner in which each one, Shiva, Ganesh and Kartik deal with their loss is extremely moving. I finished reading the book this morning, hence still in the emotional roller coaster!
Just finished the book. Sati’s battle was very painful. It was very difficult for me to read ahead as my vision was blurred due to tears. I cried till the end. It will take time to take another book. One of the unforgettable books i have ever read.
The first two book kept me glued. The third was kind of bad ending. Sati's death and the fight she put up was hum good and sad in a way :(
I genuinely loved first two books of Amish and indeed am fan of his books but the third book oath of vayuputra's disappointed me . The ending was not that good.I was expecting some thrilling end. The punch what he had given in his previous book was missing in his third book.
I was happy with the climax and glad that Amish didn't indulge the story into a "happily-ever-after-bullshit." I believe that the ending will help Indian audience grow as a reader so they can shake off the notion that the protagonist will/should always find happiness.
it was so sad.. cried for ages .. read the end in tears....
It's been more than a week since I finished the book, but am still not able to recover from that amazing yet tragic climax! It felt so real.. all I wanted was to stay there forever! I am so happy that Amish didn't make a Cinderella ending there.. The tragic climax was more gripping..and more realistic..giving a message that being a God (or a celebrity) and having a great influence on a society is never an easy role!
The loss gets justified in the end Shiva had to feel the pain of loss in order to understand the sacrifices people have made to uproot evil since it was personal it felt more by us (readers). The end is epic. The loss is permanent. It leaves us sad for a long long time. I am still very sad. That lake scene is the end is very moving.
I still haven't recovered..still feel that maybe i missed something and didn't get it right..the pain was too deeply felt..a loss is a loss and only those who lose know its true pain..very beautifully described..a befitting finale to a wonderful journey..loved the whole experience, including the pain..i dont think any other kind of ending would have done this kind of justice to the story!
Epic finale to the epic series.Amish again succeeded in taking the readers along with Mahadevs journey. It took me more than two days to come out.I stll feel the pain whenever i think of Satis battle.Kudos to Amish for his excellent work and for showing another perspective towards gods.
