What do you follow up with?

This is my question. After you've finished a book, what do you follow up with? Do you throw together a few short stories to give yourself a break while still keeping up a daily routine? Do you move on to another book that is similar to the one you just finished or do you try to change it up some? Obviously if you're working on a series, you're more likely to continue on into the next book, but otherwise how to you break your time up between manuscripts?

I tend to have several projects going at once and so I have plenty to do and get out there to the public. I do take a few days rest sometimes but am either researching for some of my non-fiction books or writing or blogging. Always doing something to keep it going.
Move on to the next project right away. Usually there's something that's already been on my mind, so I'll start focusing more on that.
I'm always working on something. Case in point, I have 8 novels in late stages of editing right now, plus 4-7 short story collections, and another 3 novels on the schedule to write, this year. I move right to revising the next project, or writing the next project, while I try to get the link to people for any finished ones. I don't really publish individual short stories, though I have a few here on GR, and on some other sites, to offer a sample of my writing style, so readers can see if they enjoy it.
I actually take huge breaks lol. After I got my first book published I promoted it but I think I stopped writing for a while to let the book sink in and absorb the limelight. Then I went back to writing poems and thought of concepts and ideas for short stories. After about 8 months I started working on my 2nd book. While working on that I started piecing together my third books using previous written poems that were going to be a part of a book anyways.
