I was wondering if anyone else thinks this should be a movie.

Hugh Reddox terrific book(s)would make a excellent step, for young actors, like lord of the flies, twilight, hunger games etc.

Riley no. they'd probably ruin it.

Patricia Kaniasty They would probably try combining more than one book and leave too much out. I can't see how they could do just 1 book at a time and keep it exciting. Don't get me wrong. I loved the books. But screen adaptation might be hard.

Luna Nupe, the books are Awesome ( kinda creepy) no Tv show or Movie could top it!

Kyra I'd prefer a TV Show, they'd probably ruin it with a movie.

Lexi I love this book and think it would awesome to see it play out on the big screen but I don’t think they will ever actually make it into a movie because of the fact that you have eight years olds drinking and getting high in the storyline. If they did make this book into a movie and didn’t leave a single thing out I think there would be a lot of controversy surrounding it (plus who knows any eight year olds that can convincingly act like their drunk or high?)And if they made it into a movie and left all the possibly controversial parts out it would ruin the integrity the storyline. So in that way I kind hope they don’t touch it.

Yes, It is long for a movie, a TV show would work a lot better

Becky they've already made like a Gone children's, I don't think its a spin off but it has some pretty similar plot lines, show on the BBC. It was called The Spartacist Particle or something along those lines. It was rubbish and weird.

Nesha Yes it should! I thought about ths a few times myself and I think it's an great idea. Alot of people would think it would be weird.'m not a relly big fan of the book but the book will probably turn out to be better.

Well the Harry Potter series was just as long. I think the series would be great on the big screen, but didn't Michael Grant say at they've tried and it just hasn't happened. I really wish so...

Isis i hope they don't because it would be kind of boring and sometimes a bit fake. Also they would leave too much out i really liked the books but they have to stay books

But wouldn't you be interested in what it would be like?

i'm curious of course but I think that the movie will be a bit confusing and that it doesn't give the correct and complete picture of the life of those kids

Paula I think the first book would make a fantastic movie, but I think this series started to get too weird after book 2. It's not mainstream enough. Sure, vampires and werewolves were weird (like Twilight), but they were cool and mainstream at the time the franchise started (maybe still are a bit, but that whole series is somewhat of a joke to most adults). Talking animals generally get laughs in movies that are trying to be serious. I don't think they could be true to the books and still get a large enough audience to make it successful...

Isis i completly agree

Chesky_division Riley wrote: "no. they'd probably ruin it."

I was thinking the same thing. I love the books, yet very few movies ever live up to the book. Harry Potter is one of the few and even after the first few books(movies) they started making changes and leaving things out.

Barbara Paulino No. Considering all the whitewashing going on with current book adaption and total disregard for the original text , I'd rather it just be kept as a book.

Paula Whitewashing?

Caraline nooo - im too afraid theyd ruin it!!
I like it better the way everythings played out in my head!
theyre gonna get a rubbish director who thinks he'll pull it off and then from there itll just spiral down...
please no

Rachel W in a word, yes. but ehy better not wreck it like they did to percy jackson

Jackye of course. it will be interesting and so cool . but if they ruin it, not cool. it would be an amazng movie if they keep according to the book.

notyourfriend Of course. No one likes it when they change the whole story.

Elliott Florence M.Grant is working on a movie for the series i would be syched if they make a movie out of the series.

Zhanaestilinski I'm reading Hunger now--about to start Lies--and I see the scenes playing out like a movie in my head. I thought it was sort of written for adaptation -what with the multiple POVs. But there's just some really weird stuff in here that I don't even think would be plausible if it was fleshed out. Too many characters and events and individual background for it to be a movie. If it were to be a TV show that would be great--but my only problem with TV shows is that they have TERRIBLE special effects and this story obviously requires GOOD ones.

Patricia Kaniasty Either movie or TV would be great. All I know is that I won a copy of Book #6 "Light" and I can't wait to get and read it. I'm soooo excited!!

Sevania This would be a really intense movie. But YES!

Maybe not the later books, though. 'Cause Caine and Diana... I dunno.

Tracy If they did, it would be pretty violent/gory! I don't know if I could stomach it...

Inês I prefer a TV show for this :/

Snowballina Inês wrote: "I prefer a TV show for this :/"
My thoughts exactly.

KingKiller I think it'd make a much better tv show. There are a lot of characters and they could be fleshed out properly on a tv show, wouldn't be enough time if it was a film. The books are also pretty fast paced and action packed so they could easily keep every episode fairly exciting.

Tracy Yep, TV show. Good idea!

Isamar Ramos No movie. Yea it'd be cool but first off it's too strong and would have to be like rated R and second they would probably just ruin and cut off the parts everyone loves and enjoy. SO NOOOOO

Chanin Malley IT WOULD BE AWESOME BUT WHO COULD WATCH IT? iF KIDS WATCHED IT THEIR PARENTS WOULD FREAK AND HONESTLY SOMETHING THIS GRAPHIC AND SCARING?

message 35: by Dawn (new) - rated it 5 stars

Dawn i think if they put enough detail into it and didn't change the plot it would be an amazing movie! i would watch it if it was mostly the same as the book, even if it was a 3 hour long movie, i think it would be worth it.

this is actually a good idea!!

Kanika Kyra wrote: "I'd prefer a TV Show, they'd probably ruin it with a movie."
yes i want it to be tv show too

message 38: by [deleted user] (new)

I think a tv show will be best. If they do a great job like Game of Thrones I would be very happy!

Paula "Under the Dome" premiers on TV in June (based on Stephen King's novel). I doubt there would be any interest in another "dome" TV show after this one is debuted - esp. since this one is likely to die a quick death...

Labibah Safdar Well, I think they should make it into a movie since I am not exactly a huge fan on TV shows unless they are done by BBC.

Kenny McCain I think it would be more successful as a tv series, then the true problems could be reveled every episode, think about it.

Conner Amber wrote: "Nupe, the books are Awesome ( kinda creepy) no Tv show or Movie could top it!"

yes yes yes

Estefany Medina yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes !!!!!!

Sarah I could see it as a movie, but it should definitely have a high rating, cause some of that stuff is kind of wacked up and twisted. (cue Drake)

Jack™ Yes, I think so, but only if they get a great director.

Tracy Actually, the novel was written by Stephen King.

Tracy "Under the Dome", I mean.

Nightinkgale I think a series would work better.

Otherwise it would be Gone part 1 and Gone part 2

Fonni Sinder No, a movie would be the best in this case. Anyways, they can tone down all the really gruesome bits, so it wouldn't be that bad. Like someone's eyeballs, fr one.

Farid L. Elaine wrote: "I was wondering if anyone else thinks this should be a movie."

A TV SHOW. a tv show. Its too long for a movie. Wouldnt be enjoyable and they would have to make like 6 movies. I wouldnt be able to wait that long. So a tv show. Since there could be alot of episodes.
