Early Edition still comes on? I remember that show from years ago. I think 2003, if I am not mistaken or maybe 2002. Still, I remember that show. The man receives a newspaper at his door or something like that. I haven't watch that show in years.
It's in syndication (I'm a late bloomer as always lol) and I missed it the first go round since it flew under my radar. I think you may be right about the first year run though. That's the correct one though. Did you enjoy it, Arch?

I use to watch it Rae and I've liked it. It has been so long, since I have seen an episode. What channel does it comes on now and what time?

That's good to hear, Arch. From what little I saw, it was a cool little show. I think it's shown on the SF channel but as one of those daily marathon things. They kinda just toss up a show here and there. Not really any regularly scheduled date. A bummer because I wanted to see more eps.
For some reason, I use to like watching Northern Exposure too. I wish they would play the old shows.

I liked Northern Exposure too, Arch. They need an oldie channel with a contract not to convert to "new classics" as they keep calling them.
Oh! I like Jurnee Smollett too. :-)

Darn it. Why do they put IRR on stuff I don't want to watch? I can't do the small football town subject matter. That is so reminds me of people I went to vet school with and I really, really want to forget. :)

Rae, I agree about the oldie's channel.

Ack. That doesn't sound good, Danielle. I don't usually watch Friday Night Lights myself (reminds me too much of Varsity Blues) but I love me some Kyle Chandler and I may see a clip to see how Jurnee does. But it's not really my cup o tea.

Oh! That's a big plus about DVDs. A lot of old shows are making a comeback that way. Do you have Netflix, Arch? I hear that's a pretty good service.

No, I don't have Netflix Rae and I don't want it.
Maybe, it's just me, but every time I see a Netflix commerical, the price goes up.

Yeah I have some vet school angst I'm still dealing with. I'll be alright.

I don't want Netflix. I'll stick with the library.

She turned up on Witches of Eastwick last night on ABC. Good riddance.
Okay could Flash Forward be more of a Danielle show? It has Three British Actors: Joseph Fiennes, Jack Davenport, and Dominic Monahan; cutie Asian actor John Cho, and it has an interracial romance between John Cho and Gabrielle Union. Plus it's sci-fi? The answer is NO!!!
Also the remake of V is coming on. I was annoyed at first, but then my inner Geek Girl got all squealy. I loved V. I still freaking love V.
Right now I'm watching Fringe and hoping I didn't miss the premiere of The Mentalist with my other cute Asian guy, Tim Kang.

Lol you beat me to it, Danielle! I was just gonna say, an AM/BW couple and I heart Gabrielle Union. I enjoyed the last few moments of the pilot and can't wait to learn more. They subtracted the scientist angle but don't mind reading the book to see the original story.
I was annoyed about V at first also but I guess I'll probably see how they do it. I like Morena Baccarin and there's DVDs to revisit nostalgia and the original which I can grab. Woo hoo.

Morena is gorgeous and a great actress, so that was a plus. I wonder if they will have the visitors get all lizardy. I need to pull out my sister's dvds to watch.
I sure hope so! Yeah Morena is awesome! I really wish they would pick her to play Wonder Woman if they are going to make one. She would nail it.
Btw Danielle, have you been watching the Vampire Diaries? I've been on the fence whether to watch it or not as I'm not a big CW teen drama fan. But I loves my vampires. I hear they adapted to seem a lot like Twilight (I'm not really a fan). Do you know how the show is so far?
I haven't watched it. I can't stand the CW Teen shows. They drive me crazy. Plus I don't like the casting. I've decided to not even bother watching it. I think New User likes it. Have you read Twilight Rae? It's not teeny in my opinion. That's probably why I loved it.

I can see why everyone would compare it to Twilight, since that was the last YA vampire sensation, but there's virtually nothing relating the two series-- especially since Stefan is not nearly as pristine perfect as Edward is. -.- Neither is his brother for that matter. Especially his brother. LOL. If you like bad boys, you must watch it for him alone, or if you like knights in shining armor, you might like Elena's ex. I'm starting to wonder why she broke up with him myself, LOL. He's so sweet under the radar.
At any rate, it seem like it's always the friends that make a show teeny. The only source of teeny-ness (like that one?) comes from some supporting characters, such as a friend named Caroline, who is meant to be more shallow, some jock, and possibly Elena's brother, if you count drug and rebellion problems as "teeny." You can find that on any show though, LOL. So Elena, Stefan, or Damon are outside of all that. Dialogue isn't teeny either, mostly. It's not Gossip Girl. And it's been getting further into the actual plot with each episode and steering away from HS drama. I didn't like the first episode as much because it just sets up the characters and shows clips from the previews. Same reason I didn't watch the first episode of Flashforward.

That's your choice, Arch.
One thing I've found is that there is a lot of Anti-Twilight rhetoric going around. It's kind of frustrating to me. I am a very anti-bandwagon person, but I don't think that's the only reason not to read or watch something. Life has proven me wrong for judging things according to the bandwagon.
If a person reads the book and doesn't like it, that's fine, but I say give it a try. It really was an excellent book. I found something in that story I haven't found in many other books. It was very unique and rich for me as a reader. I can respect you don't like paranormal, Arch. It's more of a fantasy story with a romance, IMHO. Also there are quite a few Christians who have read it and enjoyed it. There's nothing Satanic, anti-Christian or evil about it. I'm not saying that's why you won't read it. I'm just putting it out there.
As for the writing, I don't understand why people say she's a terrible writer. I don't feel that way in the least. With all humility, I've read a lot of books, and I feel that I am a good judge of writing ability, and I don't see what the issue is with Meyer's writing.
Having said that, you are a free person, so what you read is your decision.
That's your choice, Arch.

Yay! :D Also agreed with what you said about Twilight, Danielle. I read it to see what the hooplah was about myself, and I did enjoy it.
Thanks for the info on the Vampire Diaries, NU. You have good taste, so that helps me to want to give it a try. :)
The movie convinced me to read the books. Also my sister is an indifferent reader nowadays and she devoured the first three books. My good friend went without sleep for days to read all the Twilight books. So I have a lot of trusted opinions recommending them to me.
I watched Glee and it was pretty decent.

Oh, it's not that Danielle. I have books that has a movie buddy and I can't read them either. I have Lord Of The Rings, Waiting To Exhale, Old Yellow and a few others. I will pick up a book that corresponds with a movie, but not read it.
Maybe one day, when I am down to my last few books and they are only movie/book, then I'll probably read them.

Oh bummer. :-( It sounded like it had some potential.
I tried to read Twilight but (please don't shoot me lol) there was too much telling which made me feel distant from the main character. Plus, coming from all the Anne Rice goodness I felt like there was a lot missing in the world building and characterization that kept me from getting into it. I think I had already been tainted by Cleolinda so my perception was probably shot altogether lol. I love YA but I don't think this series is for me. Some folks it hit a note with and some just didn't jive with it. I do want to try her "grown-up" sci-fi romance though to see how she handled that theme and setting.
New User, I think anything with teens and vampires in it will get compared to Twilight even though The Vampire Diaries predate the Twilight series by about a decade. It's speculated the producers of the show changed the adaptation to make it seem more Twilight-y (Elena is a blonde in the books and they made her dark haired like Bella for instance).
Thanks for the lowdown on the series though, NU. I think I'll go ahead and check it out. :-)

I would never shoot you, Rae. At least you read it before saying it wasn't for you. Not that I can judge anyone regardless. I liked her way of telling the story, but some books are catchers (as Arch say) for some of us, and not for others. I'm a big fairy tale fan. It had that kind of feel to me.
Arch I can see where you're coming from. This is one of the few times I read the book almost immediately after seeing the movie.

Woo hoo brother.
Thankies, Danielle. :-)Indeed! Some stories really resonate with readers and others not so much. Guess that's why it's so hard to nab the numbers in the publishing game.

I agree. Some of the imperfect characters are the most endearing, IMHO. I hope you enjoy the book, Eugenia.
If I would have seen Rosehill, before reading For The Roses, I wouldn't have read the book. I would have thought that the book was like the movie.
I know that a book has more to it than a movie will ever have, but I could never read a book to a movie.
Now, I had to read stories that corresponded with movies in school, but they matched the movies. For example. The Great Expectation. For some reason, I liked that movie. Till this day, I would watch that movie.

Great Expectations with Ethan Hawke was an awesome movie. Very moving (at least to me). I love the scene where he takes the older lady's hand and puts it too his chest and says, "This is what a broken heart feels like." Aw.

Cool. I have seen parts of it. I'll try to catch it. My hotel doesn't have AMC or TCM, but at home, it's great to watch those channels for the old movies.

Btw, I'm just now catching up on the defunct show Early Edition with the extremely yummy Kyle Chandler (loved that guy since Homefront woo hoo). They never explored anything further than friendship with his character Gary and his female friend Marissa (she's AA) but I really wish they would have. Now I have to scour for Gary and Marissa fanfic lol.
