I'm reading, too.

My wife and I are celebrating our 9th wedding anniversary 11 days from now!

message 102: by Athena (new)

Athena | 143 comments That's great! :)

message 103: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks. Athena is one of my favorite Greek Goddesses. I've been studying Greek Mythology since college.

Is that where you got the name from, or is your name really Athena?

Apollo is cool.

message 104: by Athena (new)

Athena | 143 comments My names really Athena. My mom named me after the Greek goddess. :)

Apollo is pretty cool.

message 105: by [deleted user] (new)

That is so cool!

Aphrodite, Zeus, Venus...I just love Greek Myth. There's just something about it that attracts me and fascinates me.

If it were up to me, I would have named my kids after Greek Gods and Goddesses. :)

message 106: by Athena (new)

Athena | 143 comments Venus is Roman. ;) equivalent to Aphrodite.

But yeah. I love Greek mythology too.

message 107: by [deleted user] (new)

Cool.

Well, I'm off to refill my coffee before my wife and kids wake up. Nice talking to you, Athena.

Good morning, Athena!

message 110: by Athena (new)

Athena | 143 comments good evening. :)

message 111: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh...time difference, I forgot.:)

Is it Mother's Day where you live?

message 112: by Athena (new)

Athena | 143 comments not yet.

message 113: by [deleted user] (new)

How's school?

message 114: by Athena (new)

Athena | 143 comments Hate it. I wanna do home school next year for my last year, but the performance art program is gonna be really good... But I don't think it'll be worth putting myself through hell...

message 115: by [deleted user] (new)

Performance art...wow, that's incredible. Oh, it might be worth it, Athena. Anything worthwhile is worth working hard for.

Home schooling. We didn't have that in my day. I loved high school and college.

I miss those years a lot.

message 116: by Athena (new)

Athena | 143 comments It's not about not working hard. I love performing arts. And I love school. I just don't like MY school. And I don't like to complain, although I end up complaining about the people in my school everyday, I can't take it anymore. I have this saying, "if you can do something about it, dont complain" my therapist says I can't do anything about it. So I'm gonna complain as much as I like. Bleh. Idk. It sucks. Cause I really wanna stay for the performing art but I can't STAND the people anymore. :( I'm a bit conflicted.

message 117: by [deleted user] (new)

I understand. I think we all complained about school at one time or another. I know I did.
I see a therapist, too, Athena. I think therapy is a great thing if were open to it.
What about the people bothers you? Are you bullied?

message 118: by Athena (new)

Athena | 143 comments Not bullied. No. Not anymore anyway.

I don't like how they complain about the work. It's like... "I'm so over this!" I'm like, "if you spent as much time doing it as you do complaining you might be done already!" And people just don't like me much. Which is fine. They don't have to like me. But I'd really prefer that if they aren't going to do anything to help themselves, then they should shut up.

message 119: by Katherine (new)

Katherine | 610 comments Athena, The mantra my dad gave me was as follows:

Breathe in as deep as you can and let it out slowly, and again for 5/6 times. At the same time say to yourself, "You are as good as the best and better than most". It has worked for me every situation I have been in.

message 120: by Athena (new)

Athena | 143 comments :) Thanks Katherine.

Anywho, enough complaining about high school...

Anyone read any good books recently?

message 121: by [deleted user] (new)

I read a great book Kane and Abel (Kane and Abel, #1) by Jeffrey Archer Kane and Abel. Most excellent.

message 122: by Athena (new)

Athena | 143 comments oooooo. I added that to my reading list.

message 123: by [deleted user] (new)

It's an excellent book, one of the best I've ever read. I hope you enjoy it.

message 124: by Athena (new)

Athena | 143 comments I hope i get to is in the near future.

message 125: by [deleted user] (new)

Let me know when you do, okay?

message 126: by Athena (new)

Athena | 143 comments WIll do. :D

message 127: by [deleted user] (new)

Great!:D

message 128: by Athena (new)

Athena | 143 comments So what're you up to right now?

message 129: by [deleted user] (new)

Having my third cup of coffee, reading, and playing with Dixie, our cat. Everyone else is still asleep.

We're having a wind/rain storm here this morning.

message 130: by Athena (new)

Athena | 143 comments Oh fun. I have my spring concert tomorrow night.

message 131: by [deleted user] (new)

What are you doing in the concert?

message 132: by Athena (new)

Athena | 143 comments Ballroom dance

message 133: by [deleted user] (new)

Cool. I like ballroom dancing.

message 134: by Athena (new)

Athena | 143 comments Me tooooo

message 135: by Athena (new)

Athena | 143 comments BlaaaaaaAaaah...
Wish I could be reading instead of sitting in this boring class listen to my teacher yell at other students for now reason... Blah. I think I complain too much. My goodness I'm turning into my classmates. D:

message 136: by [deleted user] (new)

Haha! Nothing worse than a teacher who yells.

message 137: by Julia (new)

Julia (juliace) I had a teacher who was a yeller . . . she was my phys ed teacher, Mrs. Thorsland and she was so loud!!!

message 138: by Athena (new)

Athena | 143 comments Lol. Well this guy is a science teacher. I mean he's a great person. But he's not a Waldorf teacher.

message 139: by [deleted user] (new)

What's worse is a teacher who speaks in a monotone. They just have this flat voice that drags on and on and on...

I fell asleep in my English class because I had a teacher who spoke like that. LOL

message 140: by Athena (new)

Athena | 143 comments Lol. Yeah. I'd prefer that kind over a teacher who yells. I don't react well to yelling.

message 141: by [deleted user] (new)

Yelling is noise. Nobody hears anything. My dad was a yeller.

I just posted a sneak peek chapter of my new novel to my profile page. Read it if you like. I'd like some opinions on my work.:)

message 142: by Athena (new)

Athena | 143 comments Okay. Not at the moment though. Trying to finish my math. :P

message 143: by Athena (new)

Athena | 143 comments READ IT! :D loved it. There was one spelling error. I think you meant 'is' but you wrote 'his'.

message 144: by [deleted user] (new)

No problem. Algebra? I made a perfect mark on that in grade 9.

message 145: by Athena (new)

Athena | 143 comments Well yes and no. Cartesian geometry. Just learned about inverse functions and how to graph them and stuff.

message 146: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh...not my thing. I'd flunk. LOL

message 147: by Athena (new)

Athena | 143 comments I'm gonna go to bed now. It's almost 1 an and I have school tomorrow.

Night.

message 148: by [deleted user] (new)

Sleep well, Athena.

message 149: by Athena (new)

Athena | 143 comments Thanks. I did. But then I woke up with a massive head ache. :(

message 150: by [deleted user] (new)

That sucks. Happens to me. I wake up with sinus headaches.
