Lea now became worried "Ok" she said as her heart raced

They continued, but very slowly. At the next corner, Monkey stopped again. "This is it, right after this turn."
Lea didn't say anything, she just nodded
They rounded the corner. Roughly ten feet away was a mass of fur and scale. "Oh, good, he's asleep," monkey said in a whisper, "This is Andrus. He's a 'freak' gone wrong. I met him two years ago in the sewers. His ability was to transform into this. He had to keep an in-human amount of control to not act like a beast while in this form, and he usually did well. Until a year ago. Some regular humans had attacked his brother and killed him in front of Andrus. Needless to say, Andrus lost control. He ended up killing five people, The incident seems to have driven him insane, and he is always in this form. It took all my power to even get him here, but he seems content sleeping and eating what I bring him. I can't let him go-the consequences could be enormous."
"He is beautiful" she smiled
"As far as I know, I am the only person he actually recognizes. I've never had someone meet him, you are the first. I have no idea what he would do if he saw you."
"Can I meet him, meet him?" She asked
Monkey said, "Yes, but stand back behind the turn, I'll try to ease him into it."
"Okay" she smiled as she stepped backwards
He slowly crept up to Andrus until able to reach out and touch him. "It's Darwin, Andrus," Monkey said in a medium tone. Andrus stirred. "Andrus, wake up, it's Darwin." Andrus stirred some more, but didn't awake. Monkey ran his hand along Andrus' fur covered shoulder. Andrus started to move in a fashion that indicated he was attempting to stand. "It's just me, Darwin." Andrus fully stood. He stood on all four's, with longer front legs than back. His face was scaled, with quills running from the top of his head to the middle of his back. At the shoulders fur started, and ended at the hips. The rest was leathery skin, including a short tail. He looked at Monkey, and roared. Monkey wrapped his arms around Andrus' thick neck. "Hey buddy, I brought someone to meet you." Andrus sniffed and looked at the turn, and then roared once more, but a growl also was let loose.
"Hello" Lea smiled "I'm Ellette, but you can call me Lea"
Andrus growled again and attempted to go to her, but Monkey shoved him back. "Whoa there big guy, calm, calm. She is a friend." Andrus kept at it. "Lea, can you possibly use your ability to help the situation?"
Andrus, I'm a freak. I promise I won't hurt you, I wont do anything to hurt anyone unless I have to. I'm sorry if I don't look acceptable with what I am wearing, but I am a friend nt a foe she said in Andrus' mind, Lea closed her eyes and they appeared black, she looked at Andrus and saw him for what he really looks like in human form before closing them and they became normal again, "Woa, you have amazing abilities" she smiled to him
Andrus stopped and swatted at his head as he heard Ellette's 'voice' in his mind. he swatted again, attempting to rid himself of the foreign entity.
"Ok, I wont do that again" she told him
Andrus looked down at her and started to slowly walk to her. Monkey let him go, but stayed as a buffer between the two. Andrus brought his head down until he was staring Lea in the eyes. He sniffed, but kept eye contact. "Lea, do not blink." Monkey said extremely worried.
"I wont" she whispered and continued to look him in the eye. Her face went blank before she smiled at Andrus
Andrus huffed and turned around, then lay down back down in his spot. he laid his head on his paws, looking at Monkey. Monkey walked over to Lea and put an arm around her. "She is my-- well I'm not exactly sure-- but she is our friend."
"Hey" she said to Monkey and kissed his cheek
Monkey pulled her in tighter. Andrus put his head down in his legs and closed his eyes. "Andrus, I'm gonna get you some food, okay buddy?" Andrus grunted in response.
"Yeah, we probably should, but let's say goodbye first." Monkey walked over to Andrus and patted him on the shoulder.
Lea stepped forward, knowing not to get close She smiled and waved "Bye, it was lovely to meet you"
Andrus again grunted. "C'mon sweet-cheeks," Monkey said, once again holding her hand as he lead her back to the metal door.
"okay" she said as she walked with him towards the door.
"I know that you won't, but I will ask anyway. Please, please don't ever tell anyone about him. I-I'm the only person he has left, and I can't let anything bad ever happen to him a-again." Monkey said, with a slightly quivering lip.
"I wont" she told him as she waited for him to open the door
Monkey picked the lock once more, opened the door, let Lea out, closed and relocked the door.
Lea walked inside and up int othe appartment, not even waiting for Monkey
Monkey followed her inside. "What's wrong Ellette?"
"Nothing, why?" she asked as she sat down on the lounge and put her feet up
"Well it just seems like you are, I don't know, off?" He said as he sat in the armchair.
"off? What do you mean off?" she said rather aggrivatedly and a tad angry
"Well in comparison to how you have been up until after lunch, I don't know, it just seems like you aren't as happy..." Monkey said.
"I. am. fine" she told him in a plain tone, she closed her eyes and began to roll her neck while holding it. She opened her eyes and they were all black, then flashed back to normal on and off.
"What hell is going on?" Monkey said as he stood up.
"what do you mean?" she asked him confused
"Your eyes, why are they going black?" He asked, on edge.
"they are?" she asked as she got up and ran to the bathroom
Monkey feared angering her, so decided to stay in the living room.
"Monkey?" she asked "What is wrong with me?"
Monkey took this as his que. He walked over to Lea and pulled her in a tight hug. "Nothing as far as I can tell."
"Then why do you look like you are affraid of me?" she said quietly
"Oh Lea, oh please don't, don't ever think that. I may have fear of the ability you possess, but I'm not afraid of you. I am afraid that you aren't happy, or that I am making you sad or angry, which is the last thing I want to do. You are amazing." He said squeezing her.
"you are affriad-" She stopped as she began to flutter her eyes, in an attempt to keep herself standing upright she pressed her hand up againgst the wall. Stumbling from his grip she moved back into the loungeroom and laid down on the lounge.
Monkey knelt by the couch and held her hand. "Lea, what's going on?"
"I havent used my powers on another 'special' person, not at his strength anyways" she told him "I think thats what it is". Lea's shirt fell over her waist as she moved "I feel terrible" she laughed as her eyes went silver in colour
"Is there anything I can do," Monkey asked. It hurt him to see her like this.
