Often times I think of the two as completely independent of each other. Usually I prefer the books way more, but I know that surprisingly enough, in Game of Thrones I actually prefer the TV show, because the cast is just that amazing!

OK guys I saw the film...did anybody else see it?Anyway, I think it was a bit better than the book cause it was shorter(of course) and more to the point.(no purposeless lingering due to lack of time-that was a relief)
So I guess, films can beat books sometimes..

I haven't seen it yet but that sounds great! Was the film under 2 hrs?

It is 2 hours and 5 minutes to be exact, it was exactly as long as the plot requires in my opinion. It's not a ''wow'' film but it's something you enjoy.
I started reading The Host back when it was first released, but I just couldn't get into it. I'll have to dust it off and give the book another try.
Guys,
I did watched the movie last week, but I gotta admit I liked the book better...
There were 2-3 scenes for which I would have treaded off my paperback.. Specially when Saoirse Ronan[Wanda] sees all the souls lying dead in doctors chamber... for a second I was petrified by saoirse's brilliant act... but again just for a second X_X
