Dan Ames (danames) | 1 comments Can someone help me? A book has been attributed to me that I have nothing to do with. Here is the link: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17...

How do I get this removed?

Thank you.
Dani Amore

Krazykiwi | 1767 comments I happen to know that's a book by Åke Edwardsson, because one of my kids has it around here somewhere in Swedish.

More interestingly, it seems to have your name and Toni Andersons in both worldcat and edelweiss (which is publisher supplied). I suspect even if I fix it, it'll just keep turning back up, so you probably want to keep an eye on it.

Krazykiwi | 1767 comments I was going to do that honest, after I got more coffee, since I already spelled Edwardson wrong I thought I best go caffeinate before attempting any more book surgery!

But very good question, I would like to know the answer too.

Sandra | 31526 comments I suspect that the next time someone looks it up on WorldCat, they'll just add it back.

Are we sure that there isn't another author with that same name, in connection with that book?

ETA: And if not, perhaps Dani Amore should contact WorldCat to have it rectified.

Krazykiwi | 1767 comments Everyone has it wrong, but I suspect all the other sites are pulling from WC.

The only place that has the right info is Amazon - they have it wrong, with Dani's name in the URL attached to the ASIN, but they do have the right info on the book page for that ISBN. Which they ought to, since the publisher is apparently Amazon Children's Publishing!

I am certain that the book name and description in english matches the swedish book - I recognised it instantly, and Edwardson is a reasonably well known author here. Wherever the mess originates from, I suspect you are right and it'll just keep getting added back. Perhaps a librarian note on it?

Sandra | 31526 comments Worth a try, but notes have been ignored on occasion.

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) | 6325 comments Librarian note worth a try.

But, found out on another thread that datafeeds from publishers can also overwrite anything using "default description" (not the default description itself, but descriptions using). Can also overwrite their own data so make sure changelog shows author and other important data in source column coming from you (or another member) versus publisher/datafeed-source like onix/ ingram.
