I agree but sometimes my emotions get the best of me or if it is a series, I am one of those people that want to start at the beginning if all the books are not released. I have to be able to read book to book to book. I also am a freak when it comes to continuity. If an author doesn't take the time to check his/her notes and make sure the years, ages, etc. all line up I can't even finish the book. I hate it when there are discrepancies! I know what you mean about too many books. I had to just remove some books from my Kindle because the storage was almost full!

I hate discrepancies too! That's why I love The Lord of the Rings so much, dates, years, distances, names, etc, everything lines up. A friend of mine couldn't finish it because she didn't like the amount of detail in the book, but for me, details make a book more believable, more "real".As for series reads, I just "need" to start at the first book, and move on from there. My problem is, if I like a series I read every released book really quickly, and then I have to wait months (years if it's Isobelle Carmody, LOL) to read the next installment, and in the meantime I forget where the last book left off. Thankfully most books include some kind of recap of the previous books, because I don't usually have the time to reread them before reading the next one.
I love to reread my favorites. It just takes a lot to be a favorite. I reread the whole series every time a new Harry Potter or Inheritance book came out. I loved the immersion in the series that I could get that way.
Ah the inheritance books :) I did the same as you and re-read tendency each time do my copy of eragon is very VERY dog eared!
I've had 2 copies of Eragon and finally bought it for Kindle. I've loaned that book to so many people and read it so many times myself. Amazing book!! :)
They are fantastic! Although i would say that don't be put of by the writing quality in the first one. I, personally, think the writing quality is a little bit low, probably because of how young he started writing. HOWEVER, what's fantastic is that as the series progresses you see his writing quality improve SO much!
See, I enjoyed his writing in the first one. I had to fight my way through the intro chapter of the 4th though. It made me want to kick things! It took me several sit downs to force myself to read that chapter. Once I got through it, I was immersed...just like with the rest of the books.
Hmm, Inheritance was good, though there were some concepts that weren't quite original (the power of names, does Ursula LeGuin's "Earthsea" ring a bell?). What really disappointed me was the ending, but anyway, I think I would re-read them some day.
Heh, I went along to read about the series and the first review I came along was on the very topic of originality.

Wow, that review was a little harsh, and there were some serious mistakes in the comparison with The Lord of the Rings. XD The series isn't that bad at all, definitely worth reading if you ask me.
Oh it didn't put me off .... just thought it was quite funny that I read your post and then immediately saw that.
The kids are watching Harry Potter and now I want to read the books again...soon I will know them by heart!!
Repeatedly for a good book just in case I missed a detail or read a part too quickly or that it's just worth laughing/crying over it again :)
Most books I read just once, but there are some that I absolutely love that I have read numerous times such as The Catcher in the Rye and A Tree Grows in Brooklyn.
It depends on the book. If the book grips my senses it becomes a part of my life and I reread it, otherwise, its one time read for me.
Most books I only read once. I have a few that reread in parts. Sometimes I may start to read the complete book. But even then I usually find myself skipping to my favorite sections.
As a kid/teen, I reread books over and over again if I found one I particularly liked. Nowadays, I very rarely do that! If I do, I'll "reread" them by listening to them on audio. Too many really interesting books on my TBR list that I want to get through... :)
depends on the books. I reread several of the Harry potter books. I mostly tag the parts that I'm likely to want to remember and go back and reread sections of books. Sometimes that will cause me to reread the whole thing
It depends on the books. Some books are just a one time thing. If I really love a book I will read it over and over!

Books that I read growing up and in my early teen years I tend to re-read. I've read the Harry Potter books and Maureen Johnson's books and Narnia, etc, many times. I guess if the book has a big enough impact on me and I own it I read it again. Sometimes I feel like that is wasteful, though, as there are so many good books out there still waiting to be read!
Read again and again.. i will also reread cert portins.. my fav. of books I'm reading..
I love rereading books I love. I don't get to do it as often as I like because there are too many books waiting for me to read. Usually I reread a favorite if I've had a string of horrid books. Sometimes I need to cleanse the bad books away. Sometimes I don't read the whole book, I'll just search for a part in the book that I adore.
if it is a really good book and i havent read it in a while i will reread it to refresh my memory. i have done this with hunger games, mortal instruments series, and divergent ! ( and of course the twilight saga )
I seriously never reread an entire book... although if I was going to it would be a Marian Keyes book, or the Harry Potter series.
I do reread books, but usually after some time passes. A really good book means different things to you at different stages of your life.
there are books i have read, read and even watched the movie repeatedly like Think like a man by steve harvey among others , while others, one read is enough
Some books I read many times. I usually read To Kill a Mockingbird once a year. There are others that I'll read over as well. I have to saw there are a few books that I've struggled to read, just not what I thought it was going to be, and I wouldn't pick it up again to re-read.
