Thanks Danielle! I loves me some Trek. :-D
Whoopi was awesome on TNG and probably the only thing I enjoyed about Generations (grr they killed Kirk!).
I won't even get started on the wrongness of Enterprise cause we'll be here all day (apologies to any fans). :-/

Lol. Maybe McG should take a cue from the Wachowski bros on how to make a futuristic war movie. I know the consensus says that the last two Matrix movies weren't good but I LOVED the third movie cause it was all machine/man war, my fave captain Niobe kickin some piloting butt and Nona Gaye doing some resistance fighting of her own. Hmm...Maybe they should get the Wachowskis to do the next few Terminators!

That would definitely be interesting. They did great with V for Vendetta too.

Janeway didn't have a lot of personality. It sucks that she was the first female captain.

Jonathan Brandis was a teen star in the 80s. He was on Seaquest and he was in the soccer movie with Rodney Dangerfield where he was dressed as a girl. He was a cute kid. It was sad to hear he killed himself.

Me too, Rae. I was really sad about that. Same with River Phoenix dying, Jeff Buckley (I'm still in morning), and Heath Ledger.

I thought McG did a really good job. I was kind of apprehensive because of Charlie's Angels and Fastlane (otherwise known as Asslane). I think they borrowed heavily from The Matrix movies. The last one was so depressing. I do love them though.

Ack. Was Fastlane really craptacular? I remember it was on a minute but I've only seen previews.
Aside from some missteps here and there, I think he did good, yeah. Maybe the fault lies with the screenwriters? I hear it went through like two hands (one was the Crash screenwriter) then it was ripped to shreds in a rewrite, then a few more rewrites by other guys so maybe something was lost a bit in the translation. I'm definitely interested in reading the novelization because apparently that was based on the original unaltered script.
I have to admit I was a bit nervous as well because MCG did the Charlie's Angels movies (ack) but his direction was pretty well done. I was just reading trivia at IMDB and they mentioned how he asked his cast and crew to read Phillip K Dick's Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep (the basis for Blade Runner) and he wanted to stay pretty close to the mythology to make the fans happy (unlike Abrams who basically said screw you fans). So I gotta give the dude some props there!

I'm with you there. I think McDowell was the only good thing aside from Whoopi in that film. Otherwise, it doesn't exist lol.

Asslane is just pure candy exploitation. Lots of hot girls and guys wearing flashy clothes or nearly naked. Very trashy and over the top. So it wasn't bad, it just could have been a lot more deep.

I feel a little more respect for McG since he produces Supernatural, one of my favorite shows. That makes me feel better that he had good intentions with T4.

I keep hearing good things about Supernatural. Will have to sit down and catch up one day. I only have one ep where Megalyn Echinowake (sp?) from 4400 was involved with Dean (actor's real name escapes me) and I was bummed they didn't stay together. The music vid I saw of them was great. I didn't know he produced that show. Pretty cool.

Haha. Okay now that title makes more sense!

Oh yes! He was on there wasn't he? Totally forgot. I don't remember much of the show itself (I didn't really care for it either) but I do remember Michael Waverly with glasses in a wheelchair. And Jessica Alba running around and pouting. Had potential because of James Cameron's (who is awesome) idea.

It's pretty brutal. The violence is hard to watch at times. I like the folklore elements, and the strength of the relationship between the brothers.

I really liked Dark Angel. I was sad to see it go. I hated how they kept finding ways to keep Max and Logan apart.

I, too, was bummed about Jeff Buckley. He was an amazing talent.
Glad you liked it! Mmm Sam. Salvation opens up a lot of possibilities and I guess they're supposed to be leading us to the war (if they don't continue to tease us lol).
Have you seen Paul Rudd in the Object of My Affection. I so wanted them to get together in that movie and they alllllmost did. He was completely yum in that movie. One of my faves.

Wasn't he great in that? And normally I'm not really a bit Jennifer Aniston fan but I really enjoyed her in that, She's the One and Picture Perfect.
Oh! I hadn't heard about I Could Never Be Your Woman. Will have to check that one out! Paul Rudd is def a cutie!

Oh! This sorta off off topic but I'm up for the best book of the week over at Long and Short Reviews (squee) since A Kiss of Ashen Twilight got a 4.5/5 for review. Voting is open only this weekend and if you guys enjoyed it or can toss in a vote for me, I'd REALLY appreciate it! This has totally made my weekend to be up there! Yay!
Okay I'm off for a mini celebration lol.

How true that is! That's one of the pluses of online social media. And sites like this!
Thanks so much, guys! I'm definitely on cloud nine. I had a bad day yesterday so this is a really nice switch for the positive. :-D

Oh I loved it until it started to get silly with the love interest bit.

I've fallen asleep on repeat showing of movies that I've attended. I was really tired those times. I have to be to go to sleep at the movies.
I think I fell asleep a few times. On The Hunt for Red October (LOVE Jack Ryan but I can never get through that whole movie), On Her Majesty's Secret Service (I only remember the beginning and the end when Mrs. Peel-Bond dies :-(), Rules of Engagement (I still have to see that whole thing to see what it's about and the new Star Trek I almost fell asleep on during the course of the movie.
I try not to go to sleep at the movies cause I'm always afraid I'll disturb people lol.

Sometimes it just happens. It's the dark and quiet of the movie theater, unless it's a loud action movie. My aunt has gone to sleep on some very loud, crazy movies. I'm always surprised at that.
I have never fell asleep at the movies, which I hardly go to the movies. But, I have to say, if I am tired, I don't care if I am watching TV and the volume is loud, I'll fall asleep.

I'm still broken up about that. I had mad love for Jonathan Brandis as I was growing up and I was so devastated when I found that happened. :-(
