new_user LOL, Arch! I wouldn't put Justin Wilson and sexy in the same sentence either, LOL. But yeah, just imagine a good-looking fellow doing the talking...

Actually, if you search "gambit" + "cartoon" on Youtube, you can get an idea of his accent (and now that I look over the series I'm seeing that my memories were much better than the reality, LOL. Ah, childhood.)

message 102: by PT (new)

PT (spinsterpt) | 319 comments I know about the cartoon thing. I looked up the old cartoons and I wasn't as impressed today as I was when I first saw them. That's why I went with Justin Wilson. He sounds more like the Cajun fellow that I mentored/had a crush on, so I'm biased.

message 103: by new_user (new)

new_user Oh, lucky. Taylor Kitsch was also in The Covenant, which is a collection of hotties, like Steven Straits, as guys with superpowers, a Salem family, etc. Watch it for the eyecandy, LOL.

Wait! I'm not putting John Wilson and the word sexy in the same sentence. I am only saying that when I read a book that has a Cajun hero in it. If I like a hero, he's sexy. Anyway, I wouldn't imagine the hero sounding like John Wilson. Sam Trammell from True Blood maybe. He's from New Orleans.

Lonestarpt, you like the way John Wilson talks and that's good. Please don't think that I have knocked that, because I haven't.

I like how Shane West talk. I've just found out last year, he was from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I just always thought he had a unique voice.

message 105: by PT (new)

PT (spinsterpt) | 319 comments OK. I finally have a better example of the sexy Cajun. I am going with the Jackson character, played by Dylan McDermott (sp?), from Steel Magnolias. He's my sexy Cajun (for now).

New User I agree about the eyecandy. Unfortunately I was disappointed otherwise.

For sexy Cajuns, how about The Big Easy and the guy Dennis Quaid plays.

Lonestarpt, Dylan is cute. He played as a lawyer on some show. I can't think of the name.

PT (spinsterpt) | 319 comments It was The Practice, the McDermott show. I really liked him on that show. Oh and there was that sexy black man whose name escapes me. I liked his bald head and lips. He had really nice lips.

I know who you are talking about. That man played on Tyler Perry's movie, The Diary of A Mad Black Woman. He was the husband.

He even guest starred on New York Undercover as a bad person.

Steve Harris. He is a cutie!!

new_user I saw The Family that Preys yesterday. Good, but it wasn't a romcom as I thought. It was kind of sad, really.

message 113: by PT (new)

PT (spinsterpt) | 319 comments Oh, I liked The Family that Preys as well. Sanaa Lathan did a great job. I totally hated her in the movie.

message 114: by new_user (new)

new_user I completely hated Andrea! LOL.

message 115: by PT (new)

PT (spinsterpt) | 319 comments I saw a new eharmony commercial on TV today and the couple was interracial (BWWM). Has anyone else seen it?

No that's cool, Shunda. WE are breaking through slowly but surely!

I've seen it a couple of weeks ago.

PT (spinsterpt) | 319 comments Ladies and gentlemen, what's up?
Everyone is too quiet. Are we all too busy?
Anyone out there?

Arch | 6706 comments Mod
Hey Lonestarpt. I'll be back later to check to what I have missed.

message 120: by new_user (new)

new_user It is certainly quiet. Where are Rae and Justine, I wonder?

message 121: by Arch , Mod (new)

Arch | 6706 comments Mod
Rae probably beating a deadline. As for Justine, she just might be busy.

message 122: by PT (new)

PT (spinsterpt) | 319 comments My cousin just had a big baby boy: 8 lbs 8 oz.
My family needs more males. We are heavily swayed to the female side.

message 123: by PT (new)

PT (spinsterpt) | 319 comments OK, I have got to try reading this series by Suzanne Brockmann. I guess I will have to go looking for Unsung Hero because my library doesn't have it.

message 124: by new_user (new)

new_user Congrats, Shunda! Another nephew (sounds better than second cousin, LOL). Have they named him?

Brockmann's books are well-written, but I do recommend you start from the beginning of the series. :) She tends to build on existing plots.

Congrats on a new boy Lonestrapt. Is he plump? I love fat cheeks, arms and legs on a baby. So cute.

message 126: by PT (new)

PT (spinsterpt) | 319 comments The baby's name is...Brooklyn. It has not been universally embraced by the family. We have two factions. The ones who think it's a girl's name and the ones who just do like it. I don't like it either, but I kept it to myself.

message 127: by Arch , Mod (new)

Arch | 6706 comments Mod
I think that it could be a boy's name. I never met or heard of a girl, whose name is Brooklyn.

message 128: by Arch , Mod (new)

Arch | 6706 comments Mod
I have a male character named Chicago in my His Bodyguard's story.

message 129: by new_user (last edited Apr 25, 2009 11:42AM) (new)

new_user It's different, LOL. Whatever floats your boat. I don't think Brooklyn has a gender, LOL.

message 130: by Arch , Mod (new)

Arch | 6706 comments Mod
I bought a book today and the male's name is Brooklyn.

message 131: by new_user (new)

new_user LOL. What a coincidence.

message 132: by Arch , Mod (new)

Arch | 6706 comments Mod
I know.

message 133: by new_user (new)

new_user Have you guys who read PNR noticed that men are referred to as males even when the "other" in the book isn't a different species, etc.? It's so common now, LOL.

I'm busy with class. I have a test tomorrow. I'm going to a review session in a few minutes. Hopefully I will be around more after my test tomorrow. I really missed you guys!!!

I did watch Daddy's Little Girls as my study break/ entertainment while was I was studying some of the material. I just love Idris Elba. I loved him before but now I think I may become his stalker. I enjoyed every minute he was on screen. Sigh!!! I do think Tyler Perry has a bee in his bonnet about interracial dating.

message 135: by new_user (last edited Apr 26, 2009 01:58PM) (new)

new_user I really liked Daddy's Little Girls. He played such a nice guy there.

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 7331 comments Mod
Well he certainly put a few lines in Daddy's Little Girl that seemed pointed against interracial relationships. I'm sorry you don't think I'm being fair to him. It's just how I perceived his comments. I bought Why Did I Get Married so I'll try to watch that one soon.

They use female a lot too. I think it's kind of interesting. That would be different for a guy to call me his female. :)

message 138: by PT (new)

PT (spinsterpt) | 319 comments Speaking of interracial movies, I watched "The Engagement" today while I tried to get caught up on some work stuff. I, too, am taking a break. I can't say that I liked it all that much. The male lead was too weak and the entire story was the traditional, racial tension that just gets old. The "you people" and anti-homosexually stuff got on my nerves after a while.

message 139: by new_user (new)

new_user Well, considering his movies are morality tales... LOL.

LOL. I'd probably be like, too many bio labs? "I must bed you now, female." LOL. Awesome. We should dub a Star Trek episode or something.

Considering that I'm highly likely to hook up with a movie/sci fi geek-type guy, I could see that happened. I like a guy who would say something goofy like that and get me to laugh. I don't care for the smooth operator types at all.

message 142: by new_user (new)

new_user LOL. Yeah, that would be funny. :D

PT (spinsterpt) | 319 comments Swine Flu!
What's up with that?
It sounds kind of scary.

message 144: by new_user (new)

PT (spinsterpt) | 319 comments Back to the whole swine flu issue, they closed an entire school district in my area because of it.
Anyone else being affected by this?

message 146: by new_user (last edited Apr 30, 2009 10:01PM) (new)

new_user We've had 41 "probable" cases. I know some people consider it overkill to shut down schools, but it's probably best to take precautions. It's a new virus so most people have not developed an immunity, and they spread fastest in places like schools where kids like to pick their noses and smear it on their friends. Like any flu, it's only dangerous to the very young and elderly.

Just in case, keep an antibacterial rinse handy. I always carry one in my bag or purse. You don't want to waste a sick day anyways.

This is the last week of class. Just have to get my last two assignments done and turned in (one is a presentation, ugh!) and take a final that's worth 400 points (more than 60% of my grade), and I'll hopefully be around more and get back into the writing challenge. Sorry I haven't been online much. I hope you guys have a good day.

message 149: by new_user (new)
