*Sigh* Get used to him, the teasers make it look like she's going to fall for Aspen, not Maxon. I like Aspen. He's got a little too much pride, but Maxon isn't perfect either.

Maxon is so much better for America then Aspen. What was America thinking when she went out with him. I either want him to die or end up with Marlee.
Aspen's just there for the whole love triangle thing. I hope this won't become a big and thing and get dragged on, or where the author goes crazy and puts America with Aspen. Aspen seems nice, kinda but he needs to move on. He hopefully will learn not to push people away that he loves.
*Rolls eyes* It isn't crazy that America could end up with Aspen. If the author thinks how it should be, then it should be. Maxon and America have known each other for maybe two-three months, Aspen and America have known each other their entire lives, and were dating for two years. It's more crazy to think she'd end up with a guy she barely knows who happens to be dating other women.

Let's not forget, Aspen broke up with her because she would always have more money than him.

I'm Team Maxon, and yes, I hate Aspen. It's mainly the whole 'dumping America because she would always be richer than him' thing. It's hard for America, who's totally in love with him, to look past it, so it's hard for me to as well because I hate 0 reasons to like him.

It wasn't about her ALWAYS being richer than him. I capitalize the word because the opposite would happen if he married her. If America married Aspen when he was a 6, she would have become poor. It would be the same thing as running away with no money. Status is not determined by what the female's status is, but the male. If the male is a 2 and the female is a 6, then she becomes a 2. If the male is a 6 and the female is a 2, then she becomes a 6. America wouldn't still be a 5 when married to Aspen, she would become a 6. It is very difficult for 6's to make a living and Aspen didn't want America to have to go through that. He wanted her to marry someone of a higher status so she could become comfortable. When he became a 2, things changed because he would then be able to take care of her. You should like him because he only wants what is best for America. He doesn't want to take advantage of her. Aspen is a good guy. I like Maxon too. He's a really sweet guy that seems to care for America. I'm going to wait till reading the next book to decide which guy I prefer America with. That's if one doesn't get killed(knock on wood) or she doesn't get kicked out of the selection.
With the Aspen thing, though, he should have known how much he meant to her. He was her life, and he pushed her away. I understand why he did what he did, I just think he should have thought it through better. Of course, I'm also hoping he dies defending America from the rebels ;)
Lol nice. I think what he did was selfless. He knew he meant a lot to America, so he knew he had to be harsh to get her to stay away. If he was gentle about it, she wouldn't believe him. Kind of like Edward telling Bella he never loved her.
I have a feeling that she's going to end up choosing Aspen and leave and than somehow she doesn't end up liking Aspen anymore and Maxon ends up going after her. And the people who constantly raid the castle will have something to do with it too .... maybe she gets kidnapped or she has the object that they're looking for? So she ends up getting rescued. I dunno but team Maxon ALL THE WAY.
Maxon all the way. I'm getting so SICK of America and Aspen. What is wrong with her? In The Selection, when Aspen showed up at the palace, I threw the book and started ranting. HOW COULD KIERA CASS DO THIS TO US?
Um I saw him coming from the start. It was pretty obvious he was going to get drafted, there was lots of foreshaowing.
Ugh, Aspen why don't you just die? The wait for The Elite is killing me.

Finally....someone likes Aspen! At some point, I thought I was only one who liked him. I like Maxon, but I think Aspens heart is much bigger.
Aspen does not appear a lot in the book. Prince Maxon, on the other hand is like on every page. We get use to Maxon, and most of us learn to like Maxon better. Aspen, is hiding in the corner. I am sure Aspen will appear in The Elite quite often. Maybe we might be able to like Aspen better. Also, Maxon fell in love with Daphane, and America was Aspens only lover. Its a lot to consider.
Aspen wanted a better life for America so he let her go. He did it in a mean way but it was very selfless and honorable. We don't get to know much about him and the love America and he shared but I'm sure it was years of sweet moments and epicness. Maxon is okay but he is kissing and messing around with a bunch of other girls too!

Maxon had to kiss the other girls. It was not his choice. It was for public. Also, he said that he would pick her, in an obvious tone, if he could. Maxon was in love with America. But, Aspen was in love with America too. So much, he would die just to kiss her. Weird. It is a hard choice. I still like Maxon better, but might change my mind after I read The Elite though. I feel sorry for America. Poor girl. America might still be in love with Aspen, but their relationship probably won't work. And Maxon still doesn't know that Aspen was the boy that America is in love with...
