I have looked too, I have 398 audiobooks through audible and ca. 100 audiobooks on CD's, ( I have converted the audiobooks on cassette to CD's.) Additional I lent many Audiobooks from the library. I hear audiobooks since a long time - it's clear as crystal that I am pretty old! ;-)

Wow, that is a lot... I mean I had more than only audible audio books but not that much. :-)

I have listened to a lot of audiobooks as a child. In 1995 I had an eye surgery and was not allowed to read for serveral days. Then I bought my first audiobook after childhood. Audiobooks are way more important for me than to watch a movie.

I recall I loved getting audiobooks for those long road trips, and was fortunate our library had them on CD and mp3s.mand since I started with audible a couple years ago I've accumulated 374 audiobooks. They just keep sneaking up on me :-)

I agree, Sabine, that they're much more necessary to me than watching films.
I've got a few audibles on my wish list that are wicked expensive. They tend to be by big name authors and also very long, I've noticed. One in particular is around $50! 0.o
I probably would have loved more audio books as a kid. I used to tape the sounds of a movie or tv show onto a cassette tape so I could listen to it whenever I wanted. When my mom got mad at me once and said I couldn't watch tv, I went into my room and put on the cassette for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, lay back, closed my eyes, and "watched" a movie! :-)

Sounds promising. Thank you for letting us know, HJ!

I agree! I'd love to hear him reading them in full.

Beautifully read!

Then on to Down and Dirty by Rhys Ford, just out today.

Oooo. Yay!!

for lovers of Mary Renault in the UK, Fire from Heaven is Audible's deal of the day today for £2.99.

Moving in Rhythm by Dev Bentham and One Real Thing by Anah Crow

The story is too rambling. And it honestly feels like a children's story, full of wacky characters for Richard to run into. It has no really strong narrative arc. I can't figure out what anyone wants.
It was on Audible cheap, so I gave it a go and I will finish, but doubt it's one I'll listen to again.

I will say so far I've enjoyed Charlie Belmont narration in Thief, but not so much in Fortune Hunter :(
Note added. Couldn't handle narration of final one, Rogues, at all. Had to read it on my kindle app *sigh
Makes me wonder how the narrator decides what voice to use for his characters.
My True Love Gave to Me *included in the anthology
Brook Street: Thief
Brook Street: Fortune Hunter
Brook Street: Rogues
She writes Regency quite well!

Ohhh and I just so happen to have a $10 credit in my a
Audible bank.

I get new credits in 2 weeks, yay, birthday pressie from boyfriend, 24 credits on my birthday

Sooner or later I will :)

But... and sorry if this is too much... the narrator did the sex scenes really well. Actually he did them really sexy. And real. It was kind of hot! Sorry for the TMI ;)

Yes. I'm really enjoying his narration.

I've also been enjoying the Kerry Greenwood Corinna Chapman mysteries on audio. (She is the author of the Phryne Fisher books which some of you have liked on TV.) They are amusing and quite clever, and the narrator is excellent. I'm in love with Corinna's gorgeous lover Daniel.

Thank God. I need that. Vic would be the narrator that could make me feel better right now. Will purchase. ASAP.

Meanwhile I started Scrap Metal. I like what the narrator is doing. I agree though that his voice suggests a too old Nichol. He's supposed to be 25. I'm thinking more of 45 when I hear him. Hm.

Such a loooooooong wait though :-(

November, is it?
With series like that I put the date in my calender and forget about them until then. Otherwise I would bite my nails for six months or a year. ;)
