How often do you start a book and not finish it? Or do you always have to finish?

My mother always told me it takes a certain kind of willpower to make the decision to stop reading. You always have this little hope the story might start to get better. But if I've read for twenty minutes and it hasn't grabbed me, I'm outta there.
I have only quit on a book once or twice. Unless it is a nonfiction book with views and opinions I really don't agree with or a book that has too many wrong facts and end up getting annoyed with it, I don't quit reading a book. Some books I have read I didn't like at first but got better so some, if I stopped reading, might have only gotten 1 star when after reading the book my final opinion was 2 or three stars. I always rate books I have read so I feel that I should read them all the way through to give them my honest opinion based on the whole book.
I feel like you do Jennifer that if I'm going to rate a book I need to finish it.
If I'm not into a book, I try to give myself the five chapter rule. Not allowed to ditch it till after I've read at least 5 chapters. Then if I still don't like it, it's okay to move on.
There are so many books out there to waste your time on something you really dislike.
