Find You in the Dark by A. Meredith → Start Date: March 4th, 2013
I've been drooling over this book all monthI think this might be my fav. this month (it's early to be predicting this, I know but I'm really excited about this one :D)
So book 2
will be release late March. If book 1 is good enough and we might need time to read book 1.5
, we can read book in April!
you don't even wait to see if you like book one or not! lol... I don't have book 1.5 yet, but if this one is good, I'll buy one immediately :D
Funny thing! I just read Slammed and my copy has this exact same cover only it is reversed. How weird is that? Lol
I wrote Colleen Hoover because I was unable to find it anywhere, and she told me that my particular cover was out for literally one hour! Then some company bought the rights to Slammed, so according to her I probably have the only copy with this cover! Now that's pretty cool!
OH MY GOSH! I CANNOT WAIT TO READ THIS TOMORROW!!!!lol
okay, how much can/do we plan to read???
looks like there are...possibly 23 chapters...and 290 pages.
Trisha, I know I can't read it in one day, but I'll read as much as I can after work. My dog chewed our Internet cables so I'm not sure when I'll have it fixed. If I don't get on much you'll know why. Ugh...
Sorry I didn't mean to send that last message! Lol Anyway I have it for 13 days so Trisha we were hoping to read that after we read book 1. are you still okay with that? If so, when?Gis, hopefully you'll join us!
yes, as soon as we are done with this one, we'll set up the thread for book 2. I am so so so excited for this one!
wow, okay, I just finished chpter 5love it so far.
but that first chapter...those first lines...
I hate where I see this going :(
okay, I'm 1/2 way, I stopped at chapter 14and wow, it's intense. I think I need a break. lol
I'm going to read something else for a while and work on project
what do you guys think so far?
I JUST got home from work so I'll start it now. I hope I can catch up with you guys but I only have a short time frame to read.
lol... my first car was Toyota Corolla. A really piece of work it was! I can't remember how many times I had to call for help XD
I can't read the spoilers!! :( We'll have our Internet back on Wednesday! My sister's first car was a black Toyota Corolla. It was run into a city light and cost her lots of money to pay for it.
oh man...this just feels like an act of willpower to keep reading...this is So painful....are you guys enjoying it??
I'm at Chapter 18, 68% - and I need some serious changes quickly... :(
So sorry Trisha. Since I'll be on vacation next week (YAY!), I have a lot to do at my workplace this week. You know, to wrap things up. I don't have time to read much of this book yet. I'll catch up soon.
I'm at chapter 13 and I am enjoying it so far but it's getting sad! Do you not like it? I had NO idea the subject matter was what it is!
I don't know if I don't like it. The way the author is handling the subject matter...I just didn't see coming.I thought this would be a book about love and instead (view spoiler)
I'm almost done.....I don't know that I don't like it. It's just a tough subject to read.
I need to Main characters to either be older or younger.
Old enough to deal with some of this differently (college level or 20's)
or
young enough to have more active parents, curfew, etc.
this is just a dark spiral so far.

no worries Gisbelle. Just be ready for this one when you sit down. it's pretty dark.
Yes, Trisha, I agree. Thus the title of the book. I'm undecided how much I like it, so I'm reserving my opinion till I'm done and see what else happens.I do agree that I was COMPLETELY unprepared for what Clay has dealt with and how he's dealing with it.
I'm glad he has his aunt and her partner! So far they're the only family that he has that's there for him at all. :(
I can't read the spoilers until tomorrow when we get our Internet back. :(
Okay, I'm done but I'm glad you guys aren't.lolit will take me a few days to really process this one.
it's pretty dark and just...different in it's delivery.
I can't wait to see what you guys think...keep me posted
I am the slowest. lol... And I thought I could finish it in one day :Pfinished chapter 3.. So far I like this book.
Maggie (view spoiler)
Clay (view spoiler)
Finished chapter 7. I want to finish
first, then I'll continue. So far I don't like Maggie much. Too dramatic and a a bit weird.
I finished last night and I am so conflicted about what I think of this book! No wonder it is title Find You in the Dark! The most disturbing part of the book to me is (view spoiler) Unfortunately this happens far too often in real life, although the circumstances might be different. How are children to thrive?I was also VERY distracted and upset by the continual errors throughout the book!! The author doesn't know how to use dialogue and punctuate it correctly. She needs an editor big-time! I just don't understand how authors can be so bad at writing correctly written sentences and get away with it. Plus she had typos such as I for A and she had you're when it should been your. Those types of distractions truly diminish my pleasure of reading a book. And she introduced Clay's dad as Nickolas; at the end of the story he was introduced to the nurse as Nicholas. BUGS ME!!!!
I liked the plot better than I think you did, Trisha, even though it was quite dark. I thought that it definitely showed the main characters to be typical teens in that (view spoiler)
:( Seems to me like I am the only one left. I'll move it to achieve since I might not going to continue the book till next week.I'll read your posts once I finish.
I finished! FINALLY!!!It bugged me too Vic! The author should have checked the book more carefully. The typos were so distracting.
I felt like I just finished an erotica X( I didn't like the detail. No, thank you. If I want to read steamy scenes, I would have read erotica. How it annoys me that most authors now includes sex scenes in YA books. Pretty graphic also. :(
Yeah, that was one of my bigger struggles with the bookif they were older, okay, the sex scenes...whatever
but they were too young for all that - not for "doing it" but just for me to read the details. Just eww!
and I it was such a dark topic. I would have loved for them to be older dealing with it too! More mature, more options for distance - something.
That sucks the typos were so distracting/annoying for you guys. I was pretty well able to gloss over most of them - or just roll my eyes. I already didn't like the book too much so I think it just added to my overall dislike.
Absolutely! This kind of topic is more appropriate if the characters were older. It was disturbing to read those scenes. Maggie was a bit annoying also. She was too obsessed with Clay. She was willing to agree with him on anything. It surprised me when she decided to run away with him. What a hasty decision! She should have known better.
Are you going to continue the series?
