Just finished chapter 10 and I gotta say (view spoiler)[ Gideon is just mean! I mean in Obsidian Daemon was mean but I still couldn't help but like him. Gideon is so cold and indifferent I really want to slap him and I know he's supposed to be and all but really! I just hope he softens up and really soon. (hide spoiler)]

I'm kind of scared for Gwen (view spoiler)[ going to meet the count, with the way her mother was not wanting her to go see him, but she wouldn't say why she was so against it. So I was wondering did Lucy and Paul say something to Grace about him? Why else would she be saying Gwen shouldn't go to meet him, I don't know but I've got a bad feeling about it. (hide spoiler)]

I think that's why I gave it a 3. (view spoiler)[ it just felt like the beginning of the story - just to lay the groundwork, but not a book that stood well on it's own. (hide spoiler)]

I just went to the library and checked out both of the other book and they have a lot more pages. So hopefully, some questions will be answered in both of them. I'm also hoping for more thorought character developtment. (view spoiler)[ I tought it was a bit sudden from Gideon acting like he doesn't like Gwen to kissing her. I didn't really notice the moment , in which his feelings for her changed. (hide spoiler)]
