Either... guess I'd prefer Misery; it's been quite a while.

I just finished it recently and am about halfway through Song of Susannah. Sorry!

message 105: by Brittany (new)

Brittany (totsbels) | 36 comments Hey everyone! Would anyone be up for a buddy read in February - player's choice!? I've read every SK book except Gerald's Game, Carrie, and Christine (it's a sin!!!) so I would prefer one of those BUT I will read anything you want because I love him! The only books I'm really not a fan of are From a Buick 8 and Lisey's Story, although I would be willing to give them another go and see if I think differently of them now. Let me know here or message me!

Brittany

Brittany - I'd love to do a buddy read of Christine but right now my bookshelf is more than full. I'll check back with you when things get a little clearer... see if you're still interested.

message 107: by Brittany (new)

Brittany (totsbels) | 36 comments Yes Nick let me know!! We are going to do Gerald's Game in February. I started a new thread. But let me know when you're free!

message 108: by Holly (new)

Holly | 434 comments Hey Brittany, I'd love to read Carrie with you!

message 109: by Rach (new)

Rach (reeniebell) | 166 comments Hello all, I'd really love to do a buddy read of King! Sadly I can't take part in Gerald's Game as it was only recently that I read it.
I do have quite a stack of books to read from the library (salem's lot is on there) but Carrie or Christine (if I can find it) sound great!
I shall watch this thread with great interest.

message 110: by Brittany (new)

Brittany (totsbels) | 36 comments Sorry all! We have a GG read going for February... We could do Carrie or another in March? (Unless you all begin a buddy read of your own this month!)

message 111: by Brittany (new)

Brittany (totsbels) | 36 comments One of my favorites!

message 112: by Rach (new)

Ok I will read Duma Key too. Was trying to decide what to read next anyway. Thanks for reminding me about that one.

Kerry Christian (kwcreads) | 64 comments Holly wrote: "I'm going to be starting The Stand within the next week. Would anyone care to join me in a buddy read?"

I'll join you. Is it OK that it is a re-read for me?

message 119: by Annerlee (new)

Annerlee | 24 comments Holly wrote: "I'm going to be starting The Stand within the next week. Would anyone care to join me in a buddy read?"

Can I join in too? I started it a while back but gave up fairly quickly - I couldn't get into it somehow. I'd like to give it another try and a buddy read might be the way forward...

message 120: by Randy (new)

Randy I'll bite: what's this "buddy read" thing you speak of?

Annerlee | 24 comments Randy wrote: "I'll bite: what's this "buddy read" thing you speak of?"

(Do I answer wizened scary man with cricket bat who threatens to bite?.... Hmmm... of course... it's a Stephen King thread after all !! )

A buddy read is when a group of people reads a book at the same time and discuss it online as they progress (often using spoiler tags in case others in the group aren't as far into the book as they are).

Is that what you wanted to know? or have a I got the wrong end of the bat stick?

message 122: by Randy (new)

Randy That works. I just started "Dark Half" - maybe I'll try and Buddy-Up when your next book is started. Good luck with "The Stand"!

Have you read The Dead Zone?

message 127: by Randy (new)

Randy LOVED "Dead Zone". After I finish "Dark Half", my plan is to read "Needful Things" or "Salem's Lot" - if I can find a copy.

Good choices. I'd love to get to Cujo and Rose Madder sometime in the near future as well. Have you read either of those?

Kandice | 4387 comments Justin wrote: "Anyone wanna buddy read the Bill Hodges trilogy with me?"

I can commit to Mr. Mercedes at least. Can you give me a couple of days? It will be a reread, but like Nick, I feel it deserves a reread after the last one.

message 143: by Justin (new)

Justin (rockstarintraining) | 1 comments Yeah, no problem at all. I'll try to track it down from the library.

I have it, and although I am reading some others, I'm fine with beginning whenever you want. We can either discuss at the end of the already there thread for the book in this group, or we can start a new one if you want. Here or somewhere else. Up to you. :)

I just read Mr. Mercedes and would be happy to chime in if you want another POV... I'll be traveling over the next couple of weeks but can probably check in regularly. Let me know when and where if you want more input.
