For anyone that enjoys Audible / audio books, Audible is having a great BOGO sale. It is all their best sellers. There are so many great options that I don't even know which to pick!

message 1605: by Lynn, Moderator (new)

Lynn | 4471 comments Mod
So what did you pick in the end?

The Name of the Wind (The Kingkiller Chronicle, #1) by Patrick Rothfuss and The Secret Keeper by Kate Morton

I still have another credit, so I'm thinking about getting two more. We'll see. :)

message 1607: by Anima (new)

Anima Miejska | 1698 comments I have got The Rithmatist The Rithmatist 1 by Brandon Sanderson and Ex-Purgatory (Ex-Heroes, #4) by Peter Clines two books I have been meaning to read for some time :)

Anima Miejska | 1698 comments Kristie, thanks for the tip :)

Let me know what you think of The Rithmatist. I looked at that one. Right now I'm thinking about these:

Half of a Yellow Sun by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey The House of Silk A Sherlock Holmes Novel by Anthony Horowitz First Grave on the Right (Charley Davidson, #1) by Darynda Jones Moon Called (Mercy Thompson, #1) by Patricia Briggs Year Zero by Rob Reid

I'm leaning towards The Snow Child and Moon Called, but I'm not sure yet. Too many options!

message 1610: by Anima (new)

Anima Miejska | 1698 comments That is interesting how the offer differs from country to country. On my list there is no Snow Child, Mercy Thompson, in fact there is only Year Zero from the above :)

message 1611: by Anima (new)

Anima Miejska | 1698 comments If I have this content, I would definitely choose Mercy Thompson first novel as I really want to start this series after rave reviews from some GR friends.

sonya marie madden | 151 comments Kristie, an update about my health: I'm getting a custom brace for my left leg. It still hurts even after a month.

message 1613: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 6832 comments Mod
Sonya - That's awful! I hope the brace helps. Constant pain like that affects everything you do.

Anima - I got the Snow Child and Year Zero. I really wanted Mercy Thompson too, but my library carries it so I went with the others. I really needed a Y for my A-Z challenge. lol

I've been reading THE SNOW CHILD and am really enjoying it, however, I would definitely pick MOON CALLED. I LOVE the Mercy Thompson series! (And it's set in my home town too!!)

sonya marie madden | 151 comments kristie, found out my foot is just badly sprained. had the dr apt today for xray review. I get the brace 8-25-2014

message 1619: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 6832 comments Mod
Glad to hear it Sonya. I've heard that a bad sprain can sometimes be even worse than a break. I'm glad you saw the dr and are getting a brace for it. Hopefully, that will help it heal quicker.

Is anyone here familiar with TUEBL? I just found it and, so far, I think it's fabulous. For anyone that is not familiar with it, you can download free e-books (epub format). What I'd like to know, from anyone that has been using it for a while, is do the books expire? I recently opened a Netgalley book through my Adobe Digital, which is what I use for my TUEBL books as well, and it expired, so I can't open it anymore. I was wondering if that happens with the TUEBL books as well and, if so, is there something I need to do so that they don't get locked? Maybe transfer them to my Kindle somehow?? Any advice is helpful. Thank you!

message 1624: by [deleted user] (new)

I just got told about TUEBL about a week ago and I love it! As far as I can tell they don't expire, when I download books from NetGalley using Adobe Digital Editions the books get a little note saying the amount of time before they expire. My TUEBL ones just say "new". I don't know what program you are using but with Adobe Digital I am able to connect my Kobo (similar to Kindle) and right click on the file and the option is there to transfer to device.

Thanks, Kelsi! I am using Adobe Digital, so I will try it. I much prefer reading on my Kindle to reading on my laptop.

I have downloaded so many awesome books! I don't know when I'll ever have time to get to them all or where to start!

message 1630: by [deleted user] (new)

haha me too! I know the feeling...I got a bit carried away!

message 1631: by Savanes (last edited Aug 27, 2014 03:30AM) (new)

Savanes | 2107 comments Kristie, they don't expire but since most of them are "pirate" version, the author might ask TUEBL to remove them from the site. So if you like something and you don't mind that it's not authorized by the author you should download it ASAP. :)

I definitely feel you Lynn. I am seriously regretting signing up for so many challenges. September is the worst month of the year (with December as a very close second)...and it even includes my birthday so that is saying something :P
