Julian Has Been Cast!

LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT! Never really had a picture for Julian, but he seems to fit quite nicely for the role. I can't really judge because I only know him from Disney, but I have faith in him! Now all we need is our Alex...
I was just thinking, if Julian has been cast for the Pilot, that means we're being introduced to his character very early on as opposed to waiting for all the shenanigans to happen first. I don't mind them straying from the book, but I just find it a bit of a stretch to have Julian in the very first episode.
I think he reminds me more of Alex than Julian

They're making the series into a tv show.

I'm giving up all expectations for this series, because I have the funny feeling it's going to dreadful. :P The fact that they've cast Julian for the Pilot, when he doesn't appear til book 2, is just the final nail in the coffin.

I think he can definitely pass as an acceptable Julian but I agree with previous comments that I hope he's not introduced too early in the series!!Now we need an Alex!!

Hmm, those changes aren't actually that bad. I mean, we all knew if they were to turn this into a television series, there would have to be changes. I don't really mind the additional characters and Julian being in the pilot, I just hope that if they plan to cover the full first book, that they do it well. They have to establish relationships, memories and stories that are key leading up to Pandemonium. Cross you fingers, guys!

I saw the picture first and immediately though of Julian and when I found out that he would be playing Julian I was so happy!Can't wait for this show.

They'll be just as amazing and heart-breaking regardless of what becomes of the television series. I certainly don't think they'll lose integrity just by the sheer fact that they were so well received to even be considered as a tv series. Apprehension is understandable, but I for one am beyond excited despite the changes which you have to admit are unavoidable for something like this.

But I was also one of the people miffed at the horrid botching that was the Beautiful Creatures movie, so I'm really keeping low standards for this. i'm actually not familiar with him at all so maybe that's a good thing. i'm always one for discovering new talent and putting them into a role that i think could be fore them. we'll see how it turns out.

They made a lot of changes, but I still thought it was humorous and captured the heart of the story very well. But I can also see why some people didn't like it. Luckily I read it a long time ago and couldn't remember most of what happened. But yeah, never expect too much or you might be disappointed otherwise.

well this is just a pilot, I think what they do is they shoot a bunch of different pilots for different shows and then they choose among those pilots the ones they will actually go forward with, if im not mistaken. That's what they did with the Selection anyway...

He fits the role well IMO (except wasn't Julian blonde??) perhaps a bad hair dye job will be in-store, in which case I'd rather they leave him as a brunette ;s

Well I suppose they have good reason for going over the entire book one in the pilot. I'm sure they're not sitting there plotting different ways they can piss us off. Fortunately, their job is to make us happy so that we watch it, so I'm sure they have a plan behind the madness. Hopefully it turns out well.

I'm not as attached to the character's looks in Delirium like I was with say, the Hunger Games or the Mortal Instruments. So as long as he can act and can kill it on screen, I love him :)

I'm not sure how I feel about this becoming a show instead of a movie, but I definitely do not like the fact that it seems that they are changing things around and pretty much skipping most of the first book.
Im super pissed right now. I just read that Hanna was cast...Jeanine Mason. WTF? HELLO! HANNA IS BLONDE! Oh and Julian will live next door to Hanna and has a thing for her? No, no, no. I just cant....I mean Ive been trying to get around the fact that Emma Roberts will be playing Lena and that this other guy, cant remember his name, will be playing my perfect Alex and that Julian will be in the pilot. And now this? No this was the last straw. Im sorry I dont know if I will ever give this tv series a chance.I want to cry, I want to scream and rip my hair off. Sorry I may seem a bit dramatic but this is not at all what I was expecting.

I just cant...."I absolutely agree with you. Although, I've never seen this Daren guy before, so I'm not going to pass any judgment on his casting for Alex until I actually see it. I mean, so long as they dye the hair, I think I might be okay with him. But Emma? Hell no. Jeanine? I adore the girl to pieces, loved her on So You Think You Can Dance, but she is not Hana. Hana is a tall athletic blonde, with slightly tanned skin and a perfect complexion. The whole screwing around the plotline thing, explaining the ENTIRE FIRST BOOK in the first episode, and then adding random ass characters who don't even belong in the first place. AAAGH. >:(
Not to mention, Julian being their friend from the beginning, kind of defeats the purpose of the series. Alex was new to her, because outside of relatives and authority figures, Lena has really never SPENT TIME with a boy. Boys are new to her. Uncured boys, are new to her. They're forced to go to separate schools for a reason. I would think their parents would have a hay day finding out that they're friends WITH A BOY THAT ISN'T CURED OR RELATED TO THEM. Is that just me?
Augh. I might watch the first episode, just to fight off curiosity. But after that, I probably won't continue with it. This series would have worked so much better as a series of movies.

I agree with you a 100% on that point, they are not supposed to be friends with uncured boys. I guess I will watch the pilot too but I wish it wouldve been turned into a movie..

They can't take out the bonding of Alex and Lena! Those were the best parts. Especially when they were in his trailer looking at the stars. That was the sweetest moment of the book. Other than that, I don't really mind the other changes. I think Ren will be an interesting character.

I was so excited for this TV series until I saw the casting. I think Gregg Sulkin is okay for Julian, but that's about it. I'm not too happy with the rest of the cast, its just nothing like I imagined it. I wonder just how far off they are gonna stray from the books...
