Harsh Gupta (harshg162) | 27 comments I like to write stories on life-like topics like politics, man living alone in pain, a villager struggling to get his way in city, a guy struggling between his love and job.

Bobbi | 1 comments i write poetry, i have 3 completed books, now the question is where to go next? my friends and family tell me i have promise and they like my work , but i am still very bashful about sharing it.

message 106: by John (new)

John Freeter | 9 comments I like to write dark stories with a healthy dose of humor. I'll occasionally mix in some violence and gore, but I like to keep it short and intense.

I haven't really been using my GR account, but I'll try and be more active, see how that goes.

Okay.

message 108: by Queenie (new)

Queenie I mentioned this in my introduction but I basically write fantasy--high fantasy to be exact. I always try to give my stories some allegorical feel to it although it doesn't always work out. My newest idea is a YA but usually I write for older audiences. The plots I like to write generally involve letting the reader explore huge worlds so most of my stuff is a little lengthy.

I don't really limit myself, though. I have harbored a story that falls under the category of soft sci-fi before and I might pick it back up thanks to a certain 2013 sci-fi movie with a certain British actor. I have also written some poetry both for my novels and as stand-alones.

message 109: by Elijah (new)

Elijah (TitularReader) | 5 comments I write whatever I feel like writing -- I adore secret worlds in our world, fantastical places, colored characters (not a reference to skin, but a reference to the manner of their personalities), inexplicable things that happen, and a wild sense of adventure. I don't try to limit myself to what other people would love to read -- I don't care! If I'm steady enough, and I write well enough, I think I will succeed because I am writing from the heart and not from the mind. If anything, Ray Bradbury gave me the best advice for writing, "Don't think!" It will all come to you eventually, just let the words flow on the page and you'll write the greatest things on the planet.

I also like experimenting with how my writing looks when I finish up writing the story. Style, syntax, order, patterns, rhythm, polyphony, etc.

Courtenay Schembri Gray (courtenayschembrigray) | 15 comments I've been a reader and writer since I was 3 years old. I am now 17 years old and my dabbling in writing has broadened. I used to only write short stories when I was younger. In high school, I turned my tastes to Journalistic writing and I have dabbled in that for quite a while. Recently, I have decided to try out poetry. I wrote a couple of poems when I was younger which I was quite proud of. So, currently I am writing poetry which is quite dark as I generally write dark things.

message 111: by Amy (new)

Amy I write short-ish stories, either romance, thriller, historical fiction or Gothic horror romance. Mostly it's historical fiction, combined with action and romance :)

I also love writing poetry.

message 112: by Ben (new)

Ben Wong (bendwong) | 8 comments I didn't start really enjoying writing until I was 8, I mean, I wasn't one of those super-super smart babies. I was still practicing writing 'Yoda' when I was 4, and I didn't start reading until I did writing. First books were probably Roald Dahl.
But since then I've moved on to books like Neuromancer and Ubik, and I'm a massive sci-fi nut. Love to read it and write it.

I based my story in my thoughts as a little girl. I now write about my life in a different way :)

Cool. Is it hard writing about your life? I have tried to write about my life but I find it very hard.
