Nichole | 1010 comments @ Carrie, Her books are hilarious! It wasn't my favorite book from her, that would be Just One of the Guys, but I would still read it again. I'm usually laughing out loud or reading with a stupid smile on my face or pretending that I'm not crying and very quietly wiping my tears (trying not to get my husbands attention, he doesn't understand lol). I've heard that Jill Shalvis is very similar but I haven't read any by her yet.

I'm glad you liked it. I enjoyed it, too, but then I of course love anything with a French setting, having been lucky enough to have visited France quite a few times!

Katie | 2083 comments Karen --

Just finished up Three to Ride while I was at the dentist. Ever since I discovered m/m, I've shied away from m/f/m...especially Siren m/f/m. Somehow this one landed on my to-read and it went pretty much as expected. The book was ok and I might have rated it better if I hadn't read the same story maybe 10 times from Leah Brooke (also from Siren). Speaking of which, does anybody else think that Bliss, CO sounds a whole hell of a lot like Desire, OK????? I'm pretty much convinced that Siren hands out templates to their authors now. They've got one for shifter m/m, one for m/f/m and one for m/f bdsm. Surely there are more, but these are the only ones I've had experience with. Anyway, 2 stars...not a hit for me, but I'm glad to have gotten it off my TBR. Thank you!

Nancy H | 1111 comments Yz the Whyz,
I just finished my second pick, Hotel at the Corner of Bitter and Sweet and it was an awesome read! It had been on my TBR for ages and I don't know why I put off reading it for so long, because I really enjoyed it. Some sadness in it, but overall, a story of the triumph of the human spirit with people who made heart-felt choices in very difficult circumstances. Definitely a 5-star read!

Thanks for the nudge to get it done!

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments Juliet,

I finished one of your recs, Cunning's Backstage Pass (Sinners on Tour, #1) by Olivia Cunning . All I can say I need a cold shower after reading this. Plenty of hot sex coupled with a sweet romance...not to mention plenty of sexy band members.

Thanks for recommending it. I'll be reading the rest of the series.

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Erin - I finished Open Season last night and just loved it! This is my second Linda Howard book - I really like her style. It's very realistic with some great characterisation. Deborah Hazlett did a pretty good narration. Her male voices weren't great, but I stopped noticing that after a while.

Thanks for the push :)

Not sure what I'll try next... I'll let you know!

You should read her earlier books, Jane. Midnight Rainbow, Duncan's Bride, and the classic Mackenzie's Mountain... sweet baby jaysuz... talk about alpha males (strong and silent, of course)

Yay! I'm glad you liked it. It's definitely one of my favorites by Linda Howard. I may need to check out the audio version, don't think I've listened to that one. If you like audiobooks, I really enjoyed the audio versions of Son of the Morning by Linda Howard and Dream Man by Linda Howard .

message 627: by Erin (new)

Erin (erin-b) Hi Angela! I finished my pick The Last Dragonslayer (The Last Dragonslayer, #1) by Jasper Fforde this morning and I loved it. I may have to order book 2 from overseas as it's not yet out in the US. Thanks for helping me get it off my tbr too, it's been there a while.

I feel like the world is conspiring against me with reading Gambling Men: The Novel. I did start it but I keep having to stop to do stuff. Real life getting in the way.

Anyway, I am not a poker player so I'm having to infer a lot from their language. LOL, and boy, they need to sit down an have a real conversation for once don't they? My goodness, they are having a lot of problems in the beginning.

I finished up On Dublin Street late, late last night. I've been dying for a book that made me want to stay up all night to get it finished and I found it! Or rather, you found the right one! I really loved it...thanks so much (4 stars)! Here's another series that I'm going to have to keep up with. :)

message 634: by Breann (new)

Breann | 398 comments Hi Katie! I finished Latakia today. Talk about slow burn, huh? I liked it, and I especially liked the secondary characters. Different than anything else I've read and I enjoyed the action and suspense scenes. I didn't really like the MC though. Otherwise, it was a good read. Thanks!

Sassafrass (sass-a-frass) | 4192 comments Valerie ~Varuca~

These are the books I have read so far:

Cut & Run (Cut & Run #1) by Abigail Roux -- I listened to this audio and STILL devoured it! It usually takes me a at least 3 days to get through audio but I listened to this all day. It was definitely different than the M/M I'm used to reading because the sex really was an afterthought but it was such an awesome story. I immediately got book 2 on audio and started listening to it. Thanks for recommending it. Now I know what everyone is talking about it. :)

Sticks & Stones (Cut & Run, #2) by Abigail Roux --I know you didn't technically recommend this one but I started it right after Cut & Run and loved it too! I'm gaga over Ty and Zane and will definitely be continuing this series. Thanks for getting me started on it.

A Reason To Believe by Diana Copland --I wasn't able to get the computer this week to update you on this one but I did read it and devoured it. OMG, besides the fact that Keiran was awesome and Matt wasn't so bad himself, the story was just amazing. I cried so much my DH said I was going to get dehydrated. LOL, great pick. It's not something I would have ever chosen for myself and I would have really missed out. This will definitely be a reread for me at some point.

Gambling Men The Novel by Amy Lane --I can totally see why yo love this book. What a sweet story in such a non-conventional way. Jason was so great! LOL, watching him fall in love while really kicking and screaming the whole way was entertaining. But boy when he fell...wow, I shiver thinking about that kind of intensity focused on me. ;)

Laid Bare (Brown Siblings, #1) by Lauren Dane --this was not as good as I was hoping but that was because there heroine messed up what should have been some hot m/m/f action! GAH, girl cooties strike again! LOL

So, I've finished all the picks I had lined up for this month. Thanks so much for the great suggestions. If I have time at the end of the month I may go back and look at a few more of them.

Thanks again!

SandyC (sandyc88) | 1287 comments I finished a second book, The Book of Summers by Emylia Hall . The writing was lovely, but it moved a bit too slowly for me. Also, I was so disturbed by Marika's leaving her daughter, that it was hard for me to enjoy the story. When I found out the reason why, I was disgusted with both parents!
