Worth the read, but if you have no idea what is going on (hint: read the synopsis if you haven't already) you are going to be super confused. I could not tell who was speaking at times, and I didn't get exactly what was going on until almost midway through the book.
It is a classic, and I think that speaks words in itself. But another thing to consider is that if you have trouble understanding the language used in classics (from the time this novel came out) you might need to wait until you get the gist of it.
But it's true, this book is a masterpiece. But it can be confusing.

Well, to be honest, I don't see Cathy and Hareton's love as mature, either. Remember the turning point in their relationship happens after she mocks his ignorance (as he did not know how to read) and he slaps her hard, using the only quality that makes him superior to her eyes: male strenght. In many occasions, Hareton was kind and supportive and Cathy loathed or ignored him openly. I beleive when the excitment for novelty was gone, both of them would grow tired of each other as much as Isabella did with Heathcliff and Catherine of Edgar Linton.

They're pretty unlikable/ miserable/ wretched/ terrible, but they are very interesting to ..."Yes, they are both passional and resentful. Catherine has some clever insights now and then that are really impressive.
I finished this book a few days ago and it was the first time I read it. I knew nothing about the storyline or the characters, except I knew one of them was named Heathcliff, because I saw some threads here on goodreads...I have to say I really really enjoyed the book, the writing is very good and the plot was honestly amazing, to me at least. It kept me reading, because I was so curious to know the whole story of what had happened at Wuthering Heights. This being said, I also had a lot of mixed emotions towards pretty much every character and I have to say that sometimes Heathcliff's cruelty was a bit "too much" for me.
I do think it's worth reading, even if you don't like it in the end, as I saw some people saying above.
I would recommend this book just because I was surprised by it. Obviously it is a classic, but my knowledge on it was limited...was not what I was expecting, in a good way. I was not expecting it to be so dark and compelling.
I read this once and I didn't like it. I don't know how anyone could call this a love story. It feels more like a story about hate and revenge. However knowing this now, I would like to read the book again. I think the first time my expectations were, well, expecting a love story. It's not that there isn't any love story in there, but the people are pretty much insane and their idea of love is incredibly warped. So again, didn't like it the first time but I think that had to do with my expectations. I think it might be a good book knowing what you're getting into before you get into it.

Still, it's pretty good, but I guess, just not for everyone.
