SOLVED - Door in the ground that time warped based on time of day [s]

I have been trying to remember the name of this book for years. I probably read it when it in school when I was approximately 10-12.

It was possibly based in a farm setting, based decades ago, maybe turn of the century? There was a hatch or cellar door or something in the ground somewhere and based on the position of the sun and the shadows it cast at the right time it would send the main protagonist back in time - maybe 100 years? Maybe less?

I don't remember much else, except for a female character being in the past setting too.

Unfortunately not, thanks though! It would have been in publication since at least 1997 (probably earlier) and when he guy goes back in time he is in the same location.
