Ready to go? Nope! And I don't want to talk about it! Unfortunately, that is the thinking most of us have. Huxley said, "Most Americans treat death as if it were an unfounded rumor." Still true. But regardless of your age, death is usually an unwelcome intruder who never comes on schedule. So the best thing to do is to be as prepared as possible. That is what "ForeTalk" is all about--about being prepared! When my younger brother was hospitalized for lung cancer, I was asked about documents I had never heard of. My ignorance was frustratingly costly in time, money, and his personal comfort. So I wrote "ForeTalk" as a guide to Christian end-of-life planning. Actually, all end-of-life planing is the same from a legal point of view. Everyone has a story of what happened when ______died and then_____!
Do you have a story? Was preparation evident or woefully lacking?
Remember the children's rhyme? One for the money, two for the show, three to get ready and four to go. Have you taken care of "four?"
